So its been a long time and everyone has moved on but here is my shopping list for my power adapter.
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/371599124037

I was thinking about one of these

But decided the added layer of complexity and probably added resistance wasn't worth it so have gone for only voltage display.
Will make a rough prototype first, then I might disassemble to do a photo guide for the finished product in a project box.
Dont hold your breath though who knows how long it will take to find time to do it, look how long it took just to decide on parts!

Turns out the acidic coffee compromised the glue on the bottom plate, or maybe it was the big heat of this bad boy. Same thing happened with cherry stain with Mi 1.

This time i have an idea, #4 x 3/8 (I think) flat head brass wood screws, 3 or 4, not sure yet what will work best. I will drill and countersink, hopefully carpentry skills are still there. Pics to follow. I hope this steampunks it up even more. Plus the bottom plate will now be removable. :brow:

With all he talk about cases, I started searching for a "box". Something that could sit on an end table or night stand and be discreet if necessary, possibly lock withoutt a key, an have enough storage. I looked at jewelry boxes, but just not right. My bottom plate project got me thinking about finish carpentry, and how cool it would be on a small scale, aka "Vape Box".

Hopefully I'll have the time to make a kick ass case for my Mi's. I'll keep the thread updated. I've drawn up some plans, single drawer, hinge top, about 8 x 5. Just thinking out loud here.

Same thing happened to me for a while!!
I have had to force myself back into rotation and am thoroughly enjoying the change!
Finding the magic in all my vapes again!

The Milaana is still used daily, just not so much anymore.
She has become part of the rotation now!
Just as well be because i am finding it difficult to sell off my unused vapes...

Science, bitch!:science:

I tried a new technique yesterday and got a few too many massive clouds. I was playing on the computer and when it all kicked in I instantly felt way too heavy/wavy and right away closed my computer and laid down. It was way too intense, haha! All good though!

Speaking of techniques, my apologies for still not uploading the technique writeup I was putting together with the help of the few who inputed. There are just so many things I feel like I need to throw in there that it gets a bit overwhelming for me and I can't organize my head around it. Some day, I'll try to do it. If anything I'll just copy and paste what was sent to me so people have a (very detailed, mind you) explanation of techniques and prep for this vape. Some day though, sorry if some of you have been waiting! :/

I need to remember to take it easy tonight. This strain is way too powerful through the Milaana. I have two, but I got them mixed up. One is sunset sherbert and the other is goat. Citrus in the lower temps, and a more diesely flavor when you hit those medium high temps and really pull out that resin hit. Ugh. Too good.

Zen :peace:
Off to caption for 6 hours! Can't wait to come home to that goodness. Captioning is nice, a very "in the moment" job. Almost like a permanent meditative state. :peace:

I can't speak for anyone else but I'm dying for some advice to help me love this vape.

I've combusted so many times it's tainted the F-glass bowl and is affecting my post clean session flavors.

I know there is a great daily driver here, but it's becoming a niche/novelty vape for me really fast.

If you love this vape, help others love it too.

You seem to have a pretty hot unit if you're combusting that often. Try only pressing the button down for 2 seconds or so before you start feathering it. Also make sure you're herb isn't extremely fine, I still use a grinder, but I would make sure it's definitely not on the powdered side. Make sure it isn't packed down. Stay on the lower end of the temperature with a lot of feathering and not much holding, and as the unit heats up, it will start to vape the herb more and more, just don't hold the button down long! goodluck. It really doesn't take much heat to get it to start vaping, especially if you pull slowly.

I combusted early on too.
What Leads to Combustion
1. Too much button
2. Pulling too long
3. Packing too thick or tight

BRAVESST's Top 10 Ways to Prevent Combustion
1. Learn to Feather, that is, realease and tap the button vs full throttle
2. Release Button at just the right moment, keep pulling with no button depression
3. Slow Pull, let heat hover in stem, tune into what is going on temp wise (feel heat in mouth) and adjust pull to prevent combustion, increase pull after release
4. Be Careful on a Full Battery, more power
5. Short Stem = better feedback, save water for after you master short stem
6. Grind Medium Fine, lightly tamp, dry out before grinding (get water out), way less chance of fouling vape up. I get much more precise control with dry herb.
7. At first sign of Char Release Button and stop drawing
8. Stirring helps keep things even
9. Stay Present, no mindless hits until you master technique
10. Keep Screen Clean

I would start pulling lightly at the same time you push the button for your first hit. Try and see if you have any heat in the hit. If not hold the button for just 1 second then hit it. If not then go 2 seconds. It's all in the throat feel for me. You might need to draw faster then your used to having to.

Others find it too harsh but you can regulate the heat by the speed in which your drawing your hits at. Hope some one can help you figure yours out. Good luck. It's well worth the time to get this one figured out. IMO.

Wooden base fell off mine last night doesn't look like it's been glued up enough, still works just fine with some GSC mint thins :D glued it back on this morning but I can see someone's had to screw there's back together feel I might have to go down this road as the wooden base plate hasn't flat it's got a natural curve.

I do not have a milaana (yet), but if you can get the glass pieces you want to clean separate from the unit there is something called PBW, Professional Brewers Wash. The PBW will make every glass piece shine! You want to use boiling water, but be careful, PBW will make very slippery.

I keep it in the front of my mouth (the hit). My sensitive throat doesn't deal with heat until cleared by lips and tongue. I taste the hit as well as feel the heat. On a hot unit I do not preheat. I just press and pull slow, very slow. Taste is off the chart like this. Vapor is thick and cool, almost milky. Clouds are incidental with taste and effect like this, but still there. With this much volume of vapor, you know how big each hit is without any visual.

Yeah you have to think about how Milaana works... the heater is extremely fast and is capable of getting to combustion temps. You draw air over it, air heats up while the heater cools down... the heated air flows through your herb and extracts it.

The quickness of the heating element getting to temperature is denoted by the voltage of your batteries, which drops as you use the battery.

So my tips are:

1) Fresh battery and cool heater: preheat 5-10 seconds (depending on your unit), start drawing and let off the button when you feel the heat. Draw slowly deep into your lungs, keep drawing until you get a full breath. Exhale :)
2) Fresh battery and heat-soaked heater: preheat 2-5 seconds, repeat as above.
3) Battery < 3.9 volts pretty much requires a longer preheat time regardless of how heat soaked the heating element is.

It takes me 3-4 times to kill a bowl, I really don't think you can get full extraction in one hit unless you are extreme micro-dosing or you like tempting combustion. The main takeaway or at least the thing I've learned is to keep drawing well after letting off the button - the heater is still hot! You're still moving hot air! You want to get all that yummy vapor into your lungs and not just your throat. Breathe with your diaphragm (your stomach should expand)

Cloudy...
Just ordered my Milaana from PV, can't wait for it to arrive!

I ordered one of the PFVT short stem that they sell to use with the gasket, supposed to be short so the metal doesn't touch the heater and I'm planing on trying them with ELB's too (should be safe if there's no contact right?) Is there any m2m adapters shortened in one side? I'm pretty sure OGB would be able to do me a custom one...

Also wich m2m are you using guys? Any lñinks to cheap ones that work?

Now the wait...

I think OGB is your best bet for something reasonably priced and guaranteed to fit. Just make sure to tell them it's for the Milaana!

Haven't seen any reports of "cheap" (read: Chinese) adapters that work but please someone correct me if I'm wrong

I have literally over 20 different random adapters from China, all of the $2-$6 range and about 12 of 20 ended up to be US jointed to fit the Millanna. Including the 18mm M2M that comes with the Sunshine store D-020 which most people already have I bet. And I bought 4 of the $2 ones on ebay, all 4 fit my milaana.

There are lots of M2Ms available on Ebay and other sellers, like this one.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Glass-Adapt...hash=item465109b24c:m:m2E6PalFw5-v46ZHt95HxyQ

The problem comes with determining whether they are US (22mm) or ISO (26mm) sized joints, as you need it to be US. Some vendors know the difference, some do not. You can ask them to measure it, but you are kinda getting a pig in a poke.

Many of us use OGB (oregonglassblowers) because we know they know the difference and will make it to your specs. You have to pay a few dollars more for that, but it is worth it to me and to many others.

He is also very quick to get them out. He has always shipped my orders within a day or two of my placing them.

My "other" vapes arrived, one desktop, one portable. I tried the portable, definitely a keeper. I can see me using it for company, traveling, stealth, ease of use, but in all reality, it's hard to leave what I can get out of a Milaana, even for a single session. Great vape, and will find a niche, but as I hit on it, all I can think about is Milaana.

I may break out desktop tomorrow night, but Milaana will be standing by and ready to go!

Dude THANK YOU, I've been wanting to get some glass and didn't realize the D020 comes with an adapter that fits. Buying one right now!
