WOW, our MFLB and finishing grinder arrived today. This thing is amazing.

Well my PA 2.0 broke down yesterday. The light on the wall adapter is still green but the PA does not deliver power anymore; no heating up. I tried with my brand new backup walnut FB, no heating up either. With batteries they both work fine. So i don`t know which part exactly is broken. I hope i can get a 2.1 as replacement, don`t want a 2.4 cause it lacks a firebutton. Point is that i bought a PA2.0 with the lifetime warranty in mind. Would this lifetime-warranty be transferred to a 2.1 if i get one as replacement?

Btw. unfortunately i have no multimeter to test the 2.0, are there other ways to check which part went defect?

Yes, you get grandfathered in, as they put it. Read the post before yours which quotes the statement put out by mflb addressing your question about the lifetime warranty.

Do you recommend me the MFLB to my work?
I had an MFLB copy, a Da kube before. I have the Air and the EQ at home.
i need somethint stealth to work.
Is it worth nowdays the MFLB? i hope its better than the da Kube was, because it broke in 3 months without dropping it.
Any suggestions are welcommed!

MFLB is pretty damn stealth. Silent, instant heat, small.

The Da Kube is a pile of poo.

@Vapoleon I personally really like the MFLB, because of the already mentioned qualities. Instant heat and only On-Demand cooking of the herbs. You also have a lifetime warranty and the MFLB is very sturdy when handled correct. And I really love its simplistic nature and the look of it (love the cherry wood of my girlfriends MFLB).

Eventhough the MFLB Design is quite old by now, I think that no vaporizer today really achieved the above mentioned qualities to that degree. The Grasshopper with its On-Demand heating doesnt feel as On-Demand as the MFLB. For example, I really use the MFLB one day keep it loaded and use it further on the next day. Without feeling a loss of quality that is. Normally if the MFLB is filled as recommended I can take about 8 to 10 tokes. The Grasshopper while extremely convenient to use seems to give me about 5 Tokes and somehow the loads did not really work for me when left for a day. But that might be a personal thing.

Since I dont own an Arizer Air, I cant compare taste and stealth factor to the MFLB. The taste of the EQ is much better though. But I personally always liked the taste of the MFLB since it somehow has its own note.

With the Air and EQ you have a set of really nice vapes and I have always been under the impression that the Air is kinda stealthy. The MFLB is quite hard to fill on the go (and in stealth), if the herbs have not been prepared beforehand, because the MFLB needs very fine ground material and the load has to be shaken after every toke. That might limit its stealth abilities.

If you decide to order a MFLB, I would recommend to also buy the Finishing Grinder from MF, because the experience is much better with the herbs ground very fine.

I decided to buy a MFLB! I know, the grasshopper is the new way noe, but i'd like to buy something really cheap like MFLB because this would be a a quicker in my workplace. An Air and an EQ is for home, and outside but i'd like to own something at my hands here too.

And many thanks for the advice of the Finishing grinder. I wont forget it but right now i need the cheepest option which is the LB itself. Really like the walnout but now i"ll keep the normal one and maybe later i will buy a walnout too because i really like that.

And the escape pod. OMG! I will definitely buy one later.

I have my first MFLB in my hands now. I feel the quality! (incomparable to the da kube).
I have to wait 3-4 days to test it out (cant now) but i will love as you do so.

Ok, after trying it first time with a minimal amount of herb in 3 minutes i feel very fine

Its perfect, this is the vape i needed to add to my little collection.
I really like the taste, the simplicity, the warm wood feeling. I ain't discharged the battery completly it was enough for me to work in a much better mood. Very effective little device that i'm glad i have one.

And in few months i'll definitely will buy another MFLB, a walnout one, to have a backup LB and because it's so beautifull. But i really like the original maple one too.

I recommend it to anyone who's in need of a good vape. its more than enogh good. It can serve you very very well. More portable and better (and it cheeper) than the butane powered little units. I become a true fan after my first little session. As good as a vape can be. its the best little unit. I was thinking about the grasshopper witch is very different but the MFLB is just doing what he/she have to do so well, i think i never will need any better option for my work.
Please do not buy any copy products as i did for cheeper price, you recive a piece of wood and a battery so you just waste your money.
And please MFLB never stop making these products, i will buy more products from you soon and i think im not the only one

I did the same Never used the walnut box and i hope the maple will work forever. I also like the woody smell of the new box. It`s also good to have an instant backup.

LB is as basic as it can be, but it always works fine. Bought it 2 years ago, use it multiple times a week and i`m still satisfied with it, never felt the need for a more advanced device.

I've got the MAHA MH-C9000 and these are incredible chargers. The "Factory Condition" gives a factory "forming charge" and really sets up and recovers batteries. The "Refresh Charge" is also great once in a while (forming takes 3 days or so and refresh takes overnight for sure). They give you an evaluation of the batterie's current condition in mah current capacity.

I have noted that while the Glyph batteries are far superier to the original MF batteries - that MF isn't totally consistent. The last two sets I ordered had one report 15-20% more capacity. Still great - but I was expectin all in the same lot to report the same.

That said - you really can't just say "Eneloops are great" which they are - but there are different battery chemistries. Think "LSD" (heh) Low Self Discharge and normal. The non LSD will lose their charge in a week - but they can also give the highest current delivery (which the MFLB gives).

The main complaint about the older batteries was losing charge. When in fact they due to chemistry weren't designed to stay charged.

THe problem with LSD or anything that says low self discharge (Eneloop will have both models so will Maha, Powerx etc). The LSD which can not self-discharge (i.e. leak internally) also cannot deliver as much current. And the MFLB is essentially a dead short wanting 10 amps or more - which is an extremely tough load for any battery.

MFLB's compromise when producing GLYPH is a hybrid chemistry - so it wouldn't self-discharge in a week - but it would still retain a lot of power delivery. And new models came with higher capacity/delivery.

I would also point out the addage that "Batteries don't die - they're murdered" and that goes with these. If that battery is pretty much out - and you're pushing it for the last toke - you're murdering it. I don't care the brand. Each time you take it to zero or nearly so you're damaging it and significantly wrecking it's future life. So when it's getting weak - then switch to another one.

I'd also note that 1 hour (or fast even if 2) chargers are hard on batteries. But still better than running them to zero. MFLB ships fast as users want fast turnaround. But it's not helping your battery.

I can't give you other battery recommendations - but I'd say other than Glyph - top of the line, non LSD, batteries from Maha, Eneloop, etc, would be at the top of my list. But google around and see what is workign and as importantlyl NOT working for people. And consdier the Maha HC-9000 as it can bring batteries back from the dead and also restore them as well as let you know how they're doing.

As a final tip - one way to tell in a store is if it says "pre-charged" then it is LSD Low Self Discharge - otherwise there's no way it could be on the shelf with any appeciable charge.

On the "My MFLB is getting weak" ? well, there's nothing to get weak on MFLB unless your screen is coming loose. It's yoru battereis (or maybe even just one of your batteries). Or if it's been a while - your expectations.

Now for the PA? to me it's a mixed bag. It works GREAT but I hate getting it out as it's like this uncouth leash on my MFLB. I sold it to a friend (the PA) and he uses it bedside where it's always ready. But I'm sure mixed. I understand the problem though - it's the need for 10+ Amps of current and that NEEDS big wires - so it's hard to do the last half without big wire. The MFLB is just that perfect marriage of performance enabled by current NiMH AA batteries that it's hard for non chemical solutions (heh) to compete elegantly. Perfect Synergy NiMH and MFLB.

About the Escape Pod. I really like mine. Walnut grinder fits in. Easy to pour into MFLB. I do wish it had a glyph on one end - or differentiating glyphs on each end - so you know which end is which as I'm sometimes load each differently.

I don't pocket carry that. Not sure if it'd work for me and my pockets. Most of the time whichever "kit" (mflb, lotus, VapCap, Woody, VapMa) is in a portable small case with accoutrements.

I would suggest strongly looking at the Delta Box. I have a very dark consistent Walnut one and it is stunning. It will NOT come open by itself. I only holds half as much as Escape Pod. But it is such a delight (esp for those into wood). That said you WILL gather some attention with it because it is so distinguished and different. Not so sure it's a "public area piece" s much as a private piece (even if out and about). The mini MFLB grinders also fit in nicely.

So do look at the Delta Box. You'll be showing it off for quite a while but it's worth it.

I otherwise have to say I'm dissapointed with the Connoisseurs Club. I was an early member and enjoyed all the special and early access to merchandise. Like the Delta Box before it came out, Walnut Monacle MFLB box, UFO, and other items. Now it's a backwater with the only advantage to being able to buy non kits for the boxes. Everything else is on the regular site. Nothing at all special for Connoisseurs.

I suppose that's volume + competition as they said they wouldn't make me a Leopardwood Monacle box as if it's not off the line they aren't doing it. That start conrast to George Brewia (Dynavap Vapcap) who will (still - let's see) make what you want.

Anyway - check out the Delta Box. Very stylish. Not sure which of those two I'll get a 2nd unit of next..

Took out my LB and orbiter bubbler for an old friend who proceeded to get wasted on two wispy tokes.
I followed him and finished the trench with hardly any cloudage , but the effect was magnificent .
No muss ,no fuss, one batt. and we had arrived . My friend was baked for the whole silly movie. ( buckaroo banzai ) while I ripped another trench as I was home .
LB and good friends always make for good times.

A needed another vape like a hole in the head but this one I couldnt resist.

Not only that, they only made a few Nebraska and Montana ones. Who'd notice at first? We're gonna end up haunting EBay trying to get the 2 we're missing.

Couple of weeks ago i received my PA2.1 as replacement for my 2.0. It looks plastic like any china adapter but it works fine. Just one question; on the 2.0 the temp wheel runs free, on the 2.1 it feels like it`s scratching a little but only at a few points. Should it run free or is it normal to feel some scratching while turning the wheel?

I posted this in the Maud Dib section as well, but it is of equal interest here.

I turned an old Magic Flight box with the screen torn out, into a Maud Dib concentrate box using a Maud Dib replacement screen. You first have to take a blade and scrape the remnants of the old screen, then a little sand paper rub, then an alcohol wipe down, pop on the replacement screen. Works like a champ! I knew I was hanging on to those old boxes for some reason!

It seems that the vaporizing crowd has moved past our humble little LB ,chasing clouds and digital readouts .
I'm in that crowd too, but I still like the stealth and effectiveness of the LB.

Sorry - can't think of anything small enough that wouldn't be too flexible or breakable. It's the glass stem that makes this so hard since it has to be a hard case.

I switched to the acrylic stem and started using old eyeglass cases or a multitool knife holder to carry my MFLB, a couple batteries, stem and brush.

When I'm heading out and want more stealth I go native and don't even bother with the stem.

Haven't ever tried it personally, but I've thought about trying oboe reed cases. They're round, small, and have tiny plastic lids. Cotton in the bottom so the reeds don't break, seem like they'd work well, but I'm not 100% sure on the dimensions though the oboe seems like it'd hold each seperately.

one option is the smell-proof plastic container for the vapcap. currently sold out though. If anyone knows of another source, that would be awesome
