Though with Stevens quality there's usually not much difference, I still find the RL pics much more interesting.
I finally just bought a Slyme piece to add to my (now hopefully complete) collection. After talking to the umpteenth Chinese supplier I decided it's way easier with much better QA to just buy what you want from people who know properly what they are doing.
This was priced between the two Mai Tai prices, so I feel like it's worth mentioning in the cheap thread.
It's a one off American piece sold retail in Aus, so I'm sure some of you might be skipping over the best options by focusing solely on DHgate. Not that there aren't plenty of quality pieces, the consistency is just all over the show.
The main problem with buying glass from China is that it takes so long, you might end up buying something whilst waiting
Oz bongs? They get a fair bit of high end glass at reasonable prices & some decent affordable lines but I refuse to buy from them until they update their website because they are a pack of lazy cunts.

yeah Oz bongs. The have the most impressive range of any retailer here I've found. By far. I was going to wait til they launched their new site, figured I might get a discount code or something then. But I was too impatient

I like that! That Slyme pops SO MUCH MORE than my Glass from China (Jet Perc from Glass Artist I think?) I was heading in that direction myself,wanting higher quality US glass instead of DH gate stuff, before we found that Mai Tai seller, Hemping. His stuff is as nice as my American stuff for real. And that factory supposedly makes TaG too so you are really buying TaG glass at a discount. I am really interested in getting some of those color pieces from Him personally, I hope he moves them to individual sales. Plus his shipping is actually just as fast as US sellers (under 1 week)
.I will still be looking to upgrade to US sellers when I can but this last piece of Chinese glass really blew it out of the water for me. If only some US sellers would let complex pieces like colored straight fabs go for under $150 instead of wanting $200+ for every little banger hanger they make. I would have one hell of a big collection!

Yeah, this seller is certainly raising the bar and is a much better contact than any other I've come across. His english skills are on point for starters.before we found that Mai Tai seller, Hemping. The FLAVOR of vaporizing is kind like FINE DINNING.
I had 30 glass water rigs at one point.
My collection is about 20 or so? (I drop them on the hard floor)
My favorite SHERLOCK (JHOOK) with the 1/4" glass mouth piece I hook to a ASH COLLECTOR
and use it the most. It cost $11.00 at a SMOKE SHOP that buy's from SANTA ANA, CA.
Their normally closer to $20 (still a good deal)!
You can drive down the alley's of industrial parks and find GLASS BLOWERS who work for beer!
I was going to by more stuff on dhgate however they won't take my cards (their at $0.00)?

As you can see, the newer hydratube certainly blows the smaller one out of the water, you can actually take bigger hits without water splashing up into the hydratube and misting into your mouth/lungs. The problem with the smaller one is that its water chamber was based off the size of Steven's because they're almost exactly smaller. But with a matrix perc, the bubbles stack much more, causing it to go up the mouthpiece.
For $33 its a bargain. I feel sorry for the people who are still purchasing the mini-Hydratube because its $8 cheaper.

I have 4 different Ht's off dhgate , i actually got the mini for free out of all of them. I have to say while the water level is not perfect and i do get some splash , it never enters my mouth. I fill just above the perc and some water will get in the mp tube but never entered my mouth. I happen to really like the Ht , it is 1 of my favorites. I have no problems taking huge rips and i love the fact that it is small & clouds up with ease. I wouldn't feel sorry for people , some work really well and i own a ton of pieces to compare to. I guess it comes down to all glass is not created equal , maybe you got a lemon . Now i would not say it is my favorite piece i own but out of the 4 Ht's i own off dhgate it is my favorite and i have the recycler , chandelier , hydrabomb and the one you pictured all the way to the right also .

While I appreciate your praise for the mini-Hydrabomb knockoff, I do have to take your praise with a grain of salt because I remember you were the user who designed the piece to be made. The problem isn't that I got a lemon, but the entire design of yours is a lemon on its own. Your design is a lemon because even if something is off by 1 centimeter, a lot of the function can be compromised. Mine didn't have a perfect seal on the bottom, because a perfect seal is difficult to create with a small bottom.
I even remember you criticizing the design in the post where you mentioned you helped to design the counterfeit, quoted in the post below.
Whenever I used your mini-Hydrabomb, my coughing would be more severe because I could feel mist entering my lungs. If I used it every day I would eventually give myself pneumonia.
The new design fixes all the flaws your previous design had. The bottom chamber is increased in size to aid the air-tight seal on the joint: with a larger bottom, it stops extra air from entering the joint on the bottom because its sandwiched by glass HT and the top of the Evo

The height of the water chamber is doubled and the diameter is increased by a centemeter to help aid with the prevention of having bubbles stack too high up to the mouthpiece. I don't know what you told sunshinestore to make, but it was very off. Maybe you only sent pictures or something without dimensions written out like a blueprint.. I honestly don't think anyone should be buying your design to save a measly $8 for a splashy HT and to gamble whether they will have a functional tube.. I bought yours and its the worst piece Ive ever bought.

I like that new big birdcage HT. I wish the official versions had those proportions again. I may have to get one of these as a backup. That perc really does require more room IMO. I hate being careful when it comes to clearing those tubes.

Take what you'd like with a grain of salt . When I said I helped design it I gave them the dimensions of the original . The rest was up to them . I'm in the US not China and like I stated they f***ed it up and did not make it with the dimensions I gave them. language barrier maybe , I don't know . I stand by liking mine though even if they did mess up , it hits well for me and that's what matters to me , to each is own. Your giving me to much credit by repeating that I designed it and calling it mine. Either way I'm glad you got a version of it that works well for you . I don't doubt it's not a bad piece . I hope you don't take this line of criticism seriously. We are greatly indebted to your work on the hydratube design, and I hope you continue to do more. Perhaps the sunshine store recycler tube should be your next project--the fix there would be VERY simple. If the tube between the two chambers was reduce in its incline and made to look more like a normal recycler, this would be a REAL winner. I really like recyclers for vapor. Also, do you know if the double perc hydratube is for sale? I've seen it on DH, but someone said it was only a trial run.
