Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

The fc search feature is a bit shite, and I only use my phone for fc, and can only scroll back 2 pages at once...

What this means is im struggling to find information quickly....

I just want to know how you pack the elb? Is it similar to an eq setup where it's lightly tamped down? Or do you leave it loose so it acts as a mini cyclone bowl?

Sorry for all the eq references, it's all I know...

I want to get an OK first hit on my EVO when I get home....

I very lightly tamp it down, and stir after each few hits usually (sometimes just pull the elb and shake it a bit).....you can put in just a very small amount or up to about 3/4 full (leave room for the cap).
Whatever works for you.

On that first hit, make sure you give it a decently long draw. I'd start the dial at about 12 o'clock and see how that does. If you have decent product, you should get a very nice hit on the first try.

Thank you....

So do you have a hit, then remove the elb till your ready to go again. Or just leave it in there, how much conduction is really at play with the evo???

I left a basket of herb in the eq on 200 for 3 days once. When I came back to it, it was still vapeable, lost some taste, but still got a good go...

And that was with the ddave mod, so the herb was sitting right above the heater.

I usually try to remove the elb after each hit. However, I don't always remember to do it. Have not noticed any ill effects from not doing so. I do not think much, if any, conduction goes on even if it is sitting in the EVO.

Turn on the evo and set it to max. You'll want to heatsoak the unit for best results.
It will get hot so don't forget to put the sleeve on. It will smell like fresh neoprene, but don't worry the smell isn't harmful and will dissipate within a day or so.
Once it turns green, turn it back down to 12 and wait for it to turn green again.

I just pour finely ground herb into the basket, flick it once to knock anything from the rim and put the lid on.

I used to remove the basket and stir before hitting it again, but now I just hit it the once (with the dial at 1:30 ish) and toss the contents as I only enjoy the first hit anyway
everyone has their own preference on dial settings, stirring, number of hits etc.

I have left baskets in the Evo and forgot to vape it immediately due to being high and getting distracted :science::freak::leaf:
It was similar to your findings with the EQ, perfectly vapeable but some of the terps had evaporated

[edit] waterlevel in the turbine just below the turbine perc

Well you've received a number of suggestions. I'll toss mine in, which is what @stickstones and other vets here pretty much do, give or take. Having said that, feel free to experiment to see exactly what routine you prefer.

* Turn EVO on max until light goes green.
* Turn EVO down to your preferred vaping temp, considering material. Try 2 for starters.
* Your EVO should be very hot to touch at the top, if not let it heat soak another 5 minutes.
* Loosely fill ELB depending on material. I recommend no more than 1/2. Air turbulence in the ELB is an important aspect of how the EVO vaporizes, so you want there to be sufficient space for that. However you can pack very little too if you only want a couple hits.
* Make your first pull a primer draw; this will fully heat the bamboo, ELB, and herb.
* For your next hit, everyone has a different pref. IME a long steady draw is superior to hitting it hard. Allow enough room in your lungs to clear the HT in the same pull; if after the clear you can inhale a bit more air that will push all the vapor down into your lungs rather than leaving some remaining in your throat/mouth.
* Remove the ELB if you are waiting several minutes+ between hits.
* When half way thru your session, remove the ELB cap and gently stir. You can do this leaving the ELB in the EVO, but you may spill some herb around the joint so it might be better to remove the ELB to stir. Try it both ways. Be careful, the ELB will be hot.

Enjoy.

EDIT: Re "tamping down": After putting herb into the ELB I put my finger on the top and lightly tap the bottom on the table a couple times. That settles the contents without compressing the material.

I have a Swagger Turbine Hydratube that was broken and still needs repair. However I also purchased The Sidecar Turbine that @stonemonkey55 released through Vapexhale. I broke that too! I sent that to @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd for repairs and he and @Coojo Glass made it unique! Illuminati Sidecar Doughnut With Mojo Millie!

Do you have the QUARTS NAILS?

With a small mouth piece and EVO + SHATTER = CIVILIZED

Your cover is so cool!

My wife doesn't like CANNABIS however does not mind me doing it.
She makes fun of my GLASS collection and I make fun of her exercise room!

You are all just adding to the excitement, I'm gonna have to try really hard to vape myself to sleep tonight....

I do have a couple more question as promised....

1. How heavy is the EVO? The one thing that shocked me was how light the eq was, for the extra money, I'd like the EVO to feel more weighty....and for the expensive glass to be sitting on, I'd like it sturdy....

2. It's says I receive 1 x vx nail, is this a consumable item that won't last long, should u buy more now?

3. Them elb's look a lot bigger than the eq basket I'm used to, do you load them full? Is the EVO as efficient as my @DDave eq?

Sorry again for asking question i could probably search for...

Please lmk what you think. Unfortunately the Evo is lighter in weight vs. the Eq. It is also allot smaller. That was the 1st thing i noticed when i got mine. They prob made it light weight for the fact that many people turn it over on to there glass. For the one's using there glass on top such as hydro tubes , i agree it could be a bit heavier but its not so def be careful with it. The nail that comes with it can be used many times over and over again but is very fragile , i highly suggest ordering more and even trying the quartz , just be gentile with it. Once you try the nail you will be amazed also , it requires such a small amount to get a huge cloud , def saves me allot of material opposed to using my enail that requires more. The elbs are not that much bigger than the Eq basket , you can actually fit more in the eq but if our elbow packing that is not the case. I wouldnt really say one is more efficient over the other even using the DDave adapter , i would say both are different , with the Evo it is easier to go through material quicker than the Eq but that is bc you can take huge lung busting hits with ease and its so fun that you will want to use more but you can also take smaller hits in the Evo that for me are not as satisfying. I like those big ones , with my eq it was more of a process for me where the Evo is just so simplified. Kelly when you get it give it a good heat soak before using , fill your elb about half way at 1st to test and don't pack it down at all. When your Evo led turns green , place that elb right in , hydrtube on top and give it a big pull , dont be alarmed if you hear a whistle coming from it. Right below that whistle is a good point i find for vapor production.

That is not correct. Using it inverted was not a design consideration, and in fact, VXL advises additional care when used that way, i.e., if left inverted for an inordinate amount of time there can be heat build-up in the electronics section (in the bottom behind the switch) which could be damaging. Additionally, a more watchful eye on the joint is required when inserting/removing the EVO in an inverted position.

The light weight is all about heat dissipation. To create the rapid convection in the bamboo chamber up through the ELB requires a very high-intensity heater wrapping the bamboo (with a protective material between). That heat must be thrown off the unit to protect the all glass air path, which was/is considered a primary design objective for purity. The original Cloud used an aluminum housing that acted as a heat sink, absorbing and holding and slowing dissipating the heat. That worked, but it made the housing exceptionally hot. Many if not most of us wrapped wrist bands around the housing to be able to handle it, and even then, it was still pretty damn hot. VXL tested various plastics with thermal properties for the EVO, and the material chosen was considered a balanced trade-off between form, function, cost, and use.

Every person I know that has used the EVO has been surprised at first by its lighter weight. Aside from the cord potentially being a nuisance to balance (which can be rectified by a better cord), it is stable. Most users become accustomed to the weight quickly and adjust accordingly. The EVO owners I know don't give it a second thought. That said, it's not a box vape nor does it have a wide platform base like the Q; consequently no question that it requires more user attention. If ruggedness is a prime consideration for a user, then conceivably another vape would be a better choice. Bottom line, it's a question of trade-offs. As @TeeJay1952 eloquently posted above, "my Father has many mansions;" each user gets to decide if the EVO mansion is where he wants to go vs one of the many others.

Cool , ty for clearing that up , i was not sure why it was so light weight but took a guess. I do and have known not to keep it inverted for long periods of time. Love my Evo , cant wait for a updated model.

Well now, last night was certainly one to remember, from what I remember.....

I haven't been that high, ever...this machine is truly breathtaking....

I consumed about 5 elbs last night. At various temps..I understand now to get the unit hot. And I do like a primer draw to clear the air in the ht, and get the vapour flowing, before my proper draw.... and what beautiful vapour, I've never tasted vapour that good before, it's on a whole new level. I could never make my eq match the taste, or the density...and if I did get close to that density, it would be so dry and harsh, that I wouldn't be able to vape again for half hour. But with the evo, I can keep going, it's truly biblical....

I understand now why people were saying to just get one, and I'll regret not doing it sooner...

Oh and that ht turbine is glorious....

Off to dhgate to looks at others....

I fucking love my evo, and I love you all for convincing me to do it...

Thanks fc'ers............

@kellya86, I was so glad to read your post above. I know you've been very diligent in preparing for your EVO baptism, but understandably cautious. It's commendable that you did your homework so well for your maiden voyage. Now is just the beginning though . . . over the days and weeks to come you will no doubt just build on the experience last night.

Welcome to the EVO family!:rockon:

P.S. Appears you may already be infected with GAS. Common, but helluva lot of fun, although it can put you in the poor house. :)
