@LazyVaper i (and others) use a rubber band wrapped round the dimmer dial to stop it being moved unintentionally.
Mines fairly thick and twisted at the back of the dimmer, so on the front I have a strip running either side of the dial to stop it moving.
Not as elegant as you ideas, but simple and works

I would argue that's more elegant: simple, cheap, and effective. I deserve another one of these:

In particular, I'm going to look for one of those really thick rubber bands that are pretty common on broccoli from the grocery store.

I know it's not what everyone has laying around. But I remember a ways back a member took a piece of inter tube from a ten speed bike. And cut a piece about an inch or so long. The put a slit in it where the mark on dial.
It was slick. Lol

YES!! You are doing fine there @LazyVaper . Blue broccoli rubber band (or yellow lobster claw one depending on your grocery budget) will work great. This is - or at least used to be - the preferred dial band. It may fit a little tight at first. Put it on something a little bigger than dial, and sit it in a sunny window for a few hours. Has worked well for me. Hairbands work very well too.
One caution about the rubber band. If you try to wiggle too much under it, it will start to rub your numbers on the dial off. Maybe wifey has some clear nail polish? Best and easiest to aply clear coat you can get for this.
The power variance issue has been much discussed for years now also. Such as life with A/C and dirty power. I like all your ideas, but have found it easier to adjust to slight power changes and use a keeper on the dial. Total cost? Pretty much free. Total time and effort? Minimal.

I went back yesterday and watched the Vape Critic's review of the nano again, just for shits and giggles.
He gave a very favorable review and I only disagreed with a few small comments.
Not like the Grasshopper. He slaughtered that somana bitch.
My favorite part was when he was talking about the efficiency of the nano and how little you need to pack. I believe he said, " this thing can vape a crumb."
I just vaped a few crumbs of some Mango. The flavor was incredible.
He gave a very favorable review and I only disagreed with a few small comments.

@ataxian you're playing my fav song from The Who. What I love about it, it's quiet like a ballad but without drums then they go into full force rock when adding the drums. Love the, "if I'm cold let me wear your coat." Thanks for sharing the memory.
I have some Black Cherry Soda aka Cherry Pie perking in my Enano tonight. A nice hard core Indica if you like getting toasty before bed time. It's been a busy day today - decompression time. so far the older this strain gets the better it is. The flavor is awesome.
We're the Heloise Hints of cannabis around here. If anybody is old enough to know that. Love all the talk about good ideas.

I needed to turn my temp down to 6 because it started getting too harsh.

Well I'm still waiting eagerly for my nano. It made it to my city but not to my post office, was then marked "unclaimed" after 4 days (which makes no sense on so many levels including that you have 15 days to claim a package) and is now on a truck crawling it's way back to California. So frustrating...I did check with the post office to make sure they hadn't got it. Nobody could even tell me what to do. Customer support for Canada post and usps was like "I don't know why that happened, that's not supposed to occur"

I am in Canada and this has happened to me a few times....
I'm tracking the parcel. Scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Next day no attempted delivery. Re check tracking status. Parcel shows refused, unclaimed, returned to sender, whatever. Tracking shows parcel in transit back to originator...
Then the next day or the day after the parcel is magically delivered!!! What happened? In my situation, every time, it has been a scanning error. It was never returned or put on that plane, it was here, somewhere, all along. I've never actually had a parcel lost and they ended up showing up in a day or two every time.
I hope your parcel is just lost between scans and that you receive very soon.

Since I use the NANO during the day my patience is improving!
Do you still use your broken stems and gongs? I've noticed them in a bunch of your photos. Sorry if this has been discussed.
I really like the nano. By my estimation, it may be the best way to vape. Or, at least my favorite so far. In addition, I really appreciate the super clean and pure air path. It makes me more comfortable with regular use than I am with my portable units. I have that air path neurosis.
I get a very different experience from the two stem types. I figured that I would know right away which kind I like, but I definitely need more time. For my use, I don't find much of a need to adjust at this time, but that could change. I do like how the all glass stem has a hard-stop. I tend to inadvertently move the screen with the adjustable, but my dexterity with it should improve. The all-glass stem definitely lets through little snacks, if you are using pretty dry ground material.
I often get a bit of crackle on green hits with the all-glass stem. It's really neat. I haven't gotten that yet with the adjustable stem.

Oh, I'm so heartbroken. Not so many pages back I was boasting about how long my nano has performed. And it looks like I tempted the vape gods.
Today, I'm sitting and hear a distinct pop from over in the nano's direction. Hmmm. Now there's a huge crack that runs along the top and all the way down the side. Is this something even covered by warranty? I assume if I ignore it (as if I could), things would only get worse?

This is exactly why my OCD required me to buy a backup Nano. I have an exotic walnut with a bunch of knots etc. in it, and one more plain walnut with a nice grain pattern but no knots etc..... I had one crack on me, and it started from an existing knot. So I do have some trepidation about this exotic cracking on me as well. I use the exotic and it is always plugged in, and the other one is sitting in my cabinet ready to be called up should the need arise.
I use the nano every single day. Couldn't stand to be without it.

Apologies if this has already been discussed, but would regular treatment of the wood help prevent cracking? I believe EpicVape says the wood doesn't really require any maintenance. But I'm starting to work my way through this entire thread, and somewhere I recall reading tips on care and maintenance of the wood (basically beezwax and coconut oil). Seems to me if you keep the wood "moist" it might better tolerate the expansion and contraction cycles that result from the heating and cooling of the unit. But I'm certainly not a wood expert, just kind of thinking out loud!

I'm no expert either, but I believe that it is basically maintenance free. I remember reading here that if your nano doesn't crack during the first 4-6 months, it's unlikely to crack thereafter (not impossible, just unlikely). I'd say that for most, using something like coconut oil or beeswax, or ed's bomb butter is more to refresh the finish on the outside. Sort of like polishing. I've had my nano for probably 6 or 7 months now almost, and I haven't treated mine with anything yet. I still have the little packet of wax that came with it for it unopened.

I'd like to hear a little more about how people apply the beeswax w/coconut oil. I remember reading that as well, but looking at sticks of beeswax and a jar of coconut oil, its not really clicking. I was thinking of taking a beaker and a hot plate to get the mix nice and warm so it would all become liquid and get acquainted. It's going to have to get pretty hot to melt the wax, though and I'm not sure what will happen as it cools to a temp I can apply it at.
Do you just rub the wax on like a surfboard and then apply the coco?

You can use beeswax or coconut oil. Maybe some combine the two. I usually use beeswax and then turn the nano on let the wax soak in the wood. Sometime I will apply the beeswax and set my Nanos out in the hot sun for a few hours.
You can get beeswax lip balm so it's easy to find. You can get it off Amazon for pretty cheap for a jar of beeswax.
Here's my two enanos sitting in the sun. That's Eds Bomb Ass Butter in the middle. It's basically beeswax. My cherry unit looks like rainbows and the walnut looks like waves. I usually condition the wood every few months. If yours doesn't crack the first month or two it probably won't crack.
If you really love your nano maybe you should have at least two. Something could happen to one, you need to have a backup.
