AVB or residue causing allergic reaction?

I wanted to know if people here get the same reaction from vaping avb or not cleaning your unit as often and having residue build up.

I own a Mighty vaporizer and at first it was the smoothest hitting vape I have owned so far, but vaping about .3-.5 of flowers, 3 times a day for 2 months has really gotten my throat irritated to the point that I have taken some time off vaping, about a month so I can start from the beginning again.

I vape with a perculator attached and cold water. I have also vaped with warm water and I still have gotten sore throats, dry cough and sometimes breathing discomforts.

I know for sure that from the past I have vaped avb and immedeatly I have gotten allergy like symptoms, heavy breathing, stuffy nose, dry cough and watery eyes. I have not cleaned my unit from sometime, so there is sometype of brownish build up, I didnt think that since I wasnt a really heavy vaper I did not need to clean it as often and I have and I have been lazy to do so for lack of a better term.

So I did finally clean it the other day and I did still get an irritated throat, but Im going to give it some time so it can get better and I will clean my vape unit at least every 2 vape sessions if not after every vape session. I also did lower the heat, since I was vaping at 200C at a time, now I dont go past 170C or 180C the most.

So I was curious to know if anyone here gets throat irritation or allergy like symptoms from vaping avb or when they havent cleaned their unit as often and have had residue build up. All Comments and suggestions are much appretiated. Thanks!

I don't get the allergic reaction you reported but I don't vape my already vaped bud.

But just curious, why are you vaping bud you already vaped? I do save up AVB for other uses (edibles mainly) but the bud doesn't go into the AVB collection until I have vaped it to the extent I desire...so, why go back and vape it again?

I don't vape ABV. I imagine that it is irritating because it is likely extremely dry and you are probably inhaling brittle little particulate bits.

I have Asthma, so my goal is to get the best, smoothest, nonirritating vapour that I can. Besides using a quality vaporizer, I have found that if I add a small bit of degummed hemp fiber to either the bowl or under it, the fiber acts as a filter and any small particles are trapped. You will notice a smoother vapour and your airpath will stay cleaner longer.

Another thing that helps reduce particulate inhalation is to NOT grind your bud. I know some vapourizers require ground bud to work properly, but if you can get away with it, just tear a nug off your flower and pop it into your vape intact. Again, this provides a vapour that contains significantly less particulate; less irritation and cleaner vaporizer air path.

I vaped avb twice, just because I read people here vaping at a low heat in the day and leaving their bud with goodies to vape at higher temps at night. It does not work for me. I tried it once, got extreme irritation, tried it a week later just to make sure that is was the culprit and it was, so I never tried it again.

Now I just infuse my avb with olive oil or coconut oil.

I compare these irritations with avb, because its the closest feeling to it. Alot of the times I vape the flowers and leave the material inside, until I vape again thats when I empty it, sometimes it would be in there for a whole week with the avb inside and the chamber and the screen theres brown residue. So Im thinking maybe the build up of residue is whats causing the irritation.

Great suggestions, thanks everyone!

when i was reading S&B back threads..

i think i read something about just taking mouth puffs
then inhaling separately

so
vape - mouth - lungs
rather than
vape - lungs

it would be without water but
it might be less wear and tear on throat maybe

Haven't vaped in a while as my old one broke but this used to happen to me. I have some history of athletes asthma in the past which disappeared but I've a inkling that once you've ever had asthma, something small about it might remain with you.

Anyway I've never being able to pin it down as to what causes the allergic reaction. I could vape or smoke and get no reaction one day, then another day I would get similar symptoms to you. Taking precautions with the dryness of the vapor never made a consistent difference with me. The shortness of breath can be frustrating but the inflammation of my sinuses was the most annoying aspect for me as it would sometimes carry on into the next day. As someone who strives to be fit, not being able to breath through your nose is not ideal! If I ever bent over or put my head back the rush of blood containing inflammatory markers (I assume) would make me so inflamed instantly.

The only things I've noticed which make the allergic symptoms non-existent on a consistent basis for me were:

- If I vaped (or even smoked) after really intense exercise when the endorphins are flowing
- If I have a really good stretch on some tight body parts before or during my vape session

I literally feel my nasal inflammation disappear in seconds when I release tension through stretching.

Just the other day I was nasally inflamed - an intolerance to binging on too much dairy I'm sure - and before football I decide to perform a deep hip flexor stretch with my arms extended overhead, concentrating on breathing and releasing tension. My nose instantly cleared and stayed that way following the stretch. Also I felt quite stoned tbh despite no weed being in my system. I'd love to know the link!

Thanks for sharing your experiences! I am also an athlete vaporist! Id say that for me they are temporary symptoms. Just like you, one day I feel light symptoms, other days I really feel it and some days nothing at all! I have broken down the process of what I do vaping, but I have kept it consistent for the most part, so it really puzzles me. I vape through water, have even used a cough drop, cold drinks or milk and I still get light symptoms. So hopefully, it could just be a dirty unit from me not cleaning it as often, or leaving avb to just sit there for hours or days at a time. It is really ashame because I was really enjoying the vaping experience, so much that I dont feel the need to smoke anymore. I think I have always been sensitive to things, because Even when I was a combuster, if Id smoke too much for long periods I would get throat discomfort. I really hope I can figure this out and get bacl to vaping in no time.

I also say its temporary because the next day, I can feel very light symptoms, but most of the time its non existent and it does not affect my athletic preformance one bit, I can still push and pull and breathe just naturally, even under extreme stress and preformance.

This will be my first break in 2 months and I will make it a month long break, so everything could come back to normal and I can start from the beginning, I have taken notes and things I have done to change the symptoms. I have even tried to just keep it to cannibis infused oil, but as of late again, even that has irritated my throat and has triggered dry cough, so I have cut it out completely, for now.

Although I breathe just naturally, lately after I have been vaping certain things have trigered the dry cough, irritation, or little more forceful breathing, which is if a place is dusty and drinking alcohol, Even though as of late I have cut down my consumption before I decided to take a month long break, to either once a day, or every other day. I do know that I am alittle allergic to dust.

When I use my flower vapes a lot I sometimes get some throat irritation as well. I think it may have to do with inhaling lots of hot air. Though I could see how a dirty CU on the mighty might make for harsher hits. I have the crafty & got an extra CU so I can regularly swap them out so one is always clean. Gonna get a mighty CU as I hear those cool the vapor off a little better.

Alternating between concentrate and flower vapes helps avoid this IME.

I have that itchy scratchy feeling in the back of my throat too. But I attributed that to cutting my whip down to 2ft, and vapping at 388F 2x 200mg elbow packed then taking the abv from that and bowing up a bag at 410F. 3 X sessions:rip:.
