If you are looking for a 12v 1 amp PSU, they are all over the internet and for cheap. Also, you might even have one kicking around your house...a lot of common applicances use 12v 1amp. My router (linksys/cisco) uses a 12v 1amp PSU...so if you have that model router you might be in luck! Check around the house!

Noice one mate. I thought about the fact that i might already have an adapter that might work, but couldnt think of exactly what it would be and thought it would be best to just buy a new one. I checked and both my router and switch use 12v 1A adapters. Good thing my g/fs kid went home today so i can just plug my PC straight into the router and bypass switch and use its adapter.

It's been plugged in for 5-10 mins and its already gettin warm :D thank fuck! I'm still going to get another tho, so I can have gigabit connectivity on my LAN again lol. but its good to know that i can use this one as backup if need be. I also like it better because its one of the adapters that only take up one spot on a power strip.

Speaking of power strips/surge protectors, do you guys plug yours into one or just straight into the outlet?

Yay I'm glad I could help you out!

I always plug PC and PC components into surge strips. My router goes straight into the wall.

yeah, lol, definitely. I meant do you plug your wdz (and other vapes for that matter) in to them or not. I never thought about it till now, but maybe they could effect the power for set-temp vapes like the wdz somehow.

Oh vapes...my Q is hooked up to a strip, but that is beacsue I'm out of plugs in my room so almost everything in my room is hooked up to a strip. My WDZ when i get it will probably hooked up to a strip too.

Just to let everyone know, tomorrow is the last day of the Woodeez sale. Remember to email me directly in order to purchase the Woodeez kit for the unbelievably low price of just $125. This may end up to be the last Woodeez sale ever, as after the first of the year, a new price point will be set and the FC discount will no longer be available. Take advantage of this great deal while you still can. :peace:

Got my woodeez! but i had to zoom off to work right away so I only got on small baby hit right before I went out the door. It worked!!!!! but the hit sucked....def. not heated up enough.

Come home from work and its nice and toasty. Pack to stems and this thing is FUCKING awesome. I have never been so medicated off of so little. You 4-5 tasty hits with the first 3 being amazing.

I will do a full (well more full then this) write up when I get home tonight or tomorrow morning (depends how wild we get tonight). Thanks a lot Woodeze!

Just got an email from Todd saying my unit has been shipped today, fast response through email. I also asked if I could also get one of the stems to be glass, he said it was no problem. I'm excited to get this vape.

So, hows everyone liking their new wdz, which they should have by now im guessin?

I just got my replacement power adapter from Todd, which was very cool of him to send out free of charge, even tho they're made by a 3rd party and he's not responsible for quality control on them.

Over the past few weeks of regular use with the wdz, i've developed quite the liking for it, as well as a bit of technique. I usually grind up .5g at a time, using a couple twists in both directions with my 2piece, and put it in my stash container. This is my daily allotment that i dont let myself exceed. But i'll say that, as long as the herb is good, there will more often than not be half of this amount still left the following day)

I just suck my stems up directly out of the little pile in it. Sometimes i try to load them so that they're SLIGHTLY overfull and lightly pack it down in. Other times i find this restricts the airflow way too much, especially with certain types of herb. So what i do then is load it till its slightly overfilled and then pull out the bit thats sticking out the end. Holding the unit horizontally during hits keeps it in place even tho its not packed tight.

I start off with a normal inhale speed and then get slower with each progressive hit. About half way through the stem (2-3 hits in), i will dump out the stem out in a line along the fold of a folded piece of paper, and then suck it back up going in the same direct. This way the stuff that was closest to heat is now in the back and vice versa. I find that doing this makes the next hit or 2 much more satisfying than it would otherwise be. If the herb doesnt dump out easily by tapping it, i use a ssv pick to (carefully, so as not to damage the screen) dislodge what remains and then tap out.

Also, I buttered up the wdz for the first time, and, I must say, she's looking better than ever. Darker with a nice dull reflective glow to it.

I've also found the can coozy thing to be unnecessary and that it creates very little difference in the end. The only thing i use it for now is if i'm transporting the wdz unplugged from one location to the next, to help it retain heat while unplugged. Putting it on upsidedown seems more effective for this use. I also definitely like handling the naked log better than with the thing on it. Just a nice, smooth warm texture and thinner diameter makes it nicer to hold.

but yeah, with good herb, this thing kicks ass!

PACQUIAO!!!
damn, just woke up and wdz is cold. i hope it is just the power adapter. i have a cisco/linksys router so i hope this works. the plug looks a little shorter but the diameter looks the same.

steiner666, was your adapter covered under the warranty? i received my wdz dec 10, 2010.

Edit: One hour later and my WDZ is nice and warm. I must've been too rough with the cord the last time I used it.

Has anyone found an acceptable car adapter for the WDZ? And based on this...I think Ii'm going to order a back up PSU.

Happy New Year FC!! I wanted to get on here at the beginning of the year and announce this, but havent been able to find the time till now. While pricing on materials has been steadily rising lately and the general costs of doing business increasing its now time to change the sales price of Woodeez. No longer is the FC discount of $150 available. All Woodeez kits, complete with warranty and free shipping, can now be purchased at the website for the new, lower price of $147.50. Theres no need to pay more to get the log vape experience, order a Woodeez today.

I just wanted to say that yesterday I finally reached my goal with my WDZ. I am now vaping in 1 day what I used to vape in one sitting with my Q. There is not bad feelings towards my Q...it is a great great vape in its own right. However, when I'm just by myself, the WDZ medicates great and uses very little of that precious green.

I have a question for all Canadian owners of the WDZ, how long did it take to get to you after ordering it? Todd said he shipped mine out on January 3rd, I'm not sure how long it'll take. I just want to know the general time it took to get to you.

So I've had my Woodeez for about a week now and this thing is awesome! Like everyone has said before, these log vapes are really efficient, and I find that I can still get Da Buddha quality hits with my WDZ if just use the shorty stems with my bong. The overall quality and craftsmanship of the vape is very good. Symmetrical in every way to the eye, with a very smooth, sanded finish. The Walnut Todd used looks lovely as well and has a very nice light figuring of the grain in the front of the unit. I sent my payment to Todd on Sun. Dec. 26th and he was working on it the next day, and had it completely assembled, tested, and shipped by the 31st. That's less than a week turn around!

I only had a few special request but Todd had no problems fulfilling my needs. I asked for a vegan bottom instead of leather, and he said he had a pleather he has used before, and also asked for two glass stems and two shorty stems. The glass stems are a nice length and I dig the dark blue coloring, while the shorty stems fit perfectly in the 14mm downstem of my HVY bong and give me huge hits. It came with a jameco adaptor, which I have read some on here say is one of the best you can get and I think the other log vapes come with as well. It works great as a diffuser too, and a tiny drop of lavender oil can last a good while.

I see no reason why the WDZ cannot be compared to the other big two log vapes in terms of construction, quality, and customer service. Todd actually was more able and willing to fulfill my simple request than another manufacturer, and with an amazing price thanks to the one year anniversary sale.

This has already replaced my DBV as my everyday vape, and like others will be using my DBV as a party vape and for times when I just want to get many huge hits in a row and don't mind wasting a bit more. Thanks to the HUGE threads on the site about all three log vapes I was interested in, I was able to decide on exactly which one was right for me, and get it at a discounted price. Big thanks for that!

Hopefully now I have enough toys to keep be from buying more

I am very satisfied with my Woodeez. I've had several friends use it and they've all been amazed by how much vapor they get from the bowl. The only negative is the long heat up time. I know that you can leave it in all the time, but that doesn't mean that I want to. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase, and would recommend this unit.

Man, this thing is so great with good bud. Every time i go from a midsy dry spell to wonder dank i'm just completely blown away. It goes from just a few hits that arent very visible at all to half a dozen that are with higher quality stuff. If i was ever in a bud judging contest this is the type of vape i'd want to have to compare everything lol

And I've been wondering what sort of hit technique other ppl use with the wdz, or other logs. I pretty much just hit it constantly and softly, really long hits. But some of my friends have a hard time hitting it that way because their lungs arent as good or something. They will usually either have a problem with needing air mid-hit because they say its like holding their breath. Or they will have trouble sucking on it hard enough. Even when its not packed too hard, my one friend in particular still has trouble. He makes this weird snoring snort sort of sound, for lack of a better description lol.

Anyways today he was using it and started "hitting it like a pipe" and claims it works a ton better. He does it by taking quick short pulls and pulling his mouth away for a split second, kinda like the micro hit technique for the launch box. I will say that his hits got a lot bigger. I could see vapor escaping out his mouth when he was doing the puffs thing, so it seems kinda wasteful to me.

I usually do hit it really really slow at the beginning and then speed up slightly and then slow down and repeat a bit tho. Seems to help a little bit,

Thats exactly what I do with my PD steiner! I start off slow, speed up a bit, and go back and forth with my breathing speed then pull fast at the end. I find that I have very good lungs compared to most people who have never smoked, I have conditioned my lungs in a way that I no longer strain myself to take LONG, SLOW hits. However, I very very rarely smoke nowadays, its ALL about the vapor :D

Sometimes I do a quick puff or short pull before starting the actual hit, just to warm it up a bit.
I do it for other people too, like if someone is sitting right next to me and is going to hit the PD, I will mate the tube to the unit and then take a short slow pull, almost a puff, for no more then a second, this starts heating it up making it a bit easier for the other person to get vapor.

Hope it makes sense in the way I explained it.

Finally I came home (Slovakia) from Ireland! My WDZ was shipped 6.dec to my friend in slovakia and he received it around 20.dec :) I couldnt wait to get home and unpack it! But when i unpacked it i was not so happy.
I ordered it without transformer cuz im from EU and wdz comes with us plug type. Todd told me that transformer cost him 10$ (he discounted it from price) and shipping to EU will be 15$ so i had to pay 130$. I asked him to send it as a gift, he said no problem. Then he told me to pay it throught paypal as money owed. I paid it as he wanted but i had to pay additional fee approximately 6$... So it cost me 136$. Label on the package says that shopping costed 12,48$ so remaining 2,52$ was for box etc i think.
I emailed Todd before shipping to double check if my package is all ok but it came without screens in the stems! Just only in long tube is a screen. I searched box if they did not just fell out during the shipping but i didnt found anything in the box :uhoh:

Todd gave me a glass stem, long stem, standard stem, and a short stem for $125.
And i got for 136$ short stem without screen, medium stem without screen and long stem with screen :( That sucks! Screens that wdz comes with have some kind of wrap around it (for perfect fit i think) so even if i will try to make my own screen it wont be so tight as original one. I tryed to buy some stainless screens but i couldnt find anything in my town. If i could get few of those original screens that wdz comes with I will be very happy :)
I vaped just twice and i was in hurry so it gave me just little buzz so i have to use it few more times to say something about it :)
Todd was great to deal with and i hope he will solve my problem somehow if he will read this.
