very very nice review EitherOr!

as for the stems, mine look identical to yours, and are slightly roughed on the inside of the stems near the bottom (about 1/3 of the way up). it seems to really help with the build-up, which is nice.

think i'm going to make my first batch of stem-hash tonight. my cleaning bottle of iso is nice and green! this stuff should be pretty potent. will post pics if i get around to it :D

I've used the same food grade nylon material for the stems since the first one. The inside diameter of the tube should be smooth, with the exception of the very end where it can possibly come in contact with the deburring tool used.

EitherOr, nice review. I've been thinking about the packaging for awhile now. Currently I recycle boxes that contact lenses are shipped in. I have access to lots of them, and dont like to waste resources. I've been "green" for years and recycle/ reuse is ingrained in me. I have been looking into new, custom packaging and think that in the near future Woodeez will switch over to that.

All orders that have come in during the last few days will be shipping midweek as I am out of town until then.

I've been looking at your product lately and am intruiged by the quality product you are producing in such a small scale mannner, and I'm hoping that, if memory serves, you you do custom wood orders?
I own a Purple Days model and though nothing against it, it may nit suit my preferences. I'm thinking of selling it to a friend who smokes too much and, if possible, buying a tea tree Woodeez unit.
Also, what was the fc discount and Woodeez's general shipping time again?

Thanks,

Sneezy

Custom units were available for a time, but these days I'm only offering Woodeez in Black Walnut for dark wood and Maple for lighter wood. The FC pricing is $150 (email me direct from forum email) and shipping times are usually within a few days. I did just get back from an unscheduled trip to Boston for a week that delayed current orders for a bit, but am now back on track and should be able to ship orders within a day or two.

It's been a while since I posted in here. The WZ is still running like a champ after dropping over a million times. Todd, I did take those pictures a while back if you want them, but by the looks of it you got all the pics you need already on your site?

I would be sooooo appreciative if you would post some pics of your beaut when it comes in. I've been toying with the idea of a maple "log" vape for a while, but want to see what that wood grain looks like up close.

And Wunderkid, holy crap nice WDZ. Nice photography skills too, either that is the richest colored wood I've ever seen, or you have some great mood lighting going on

How are you liking the HVY? I am thinking about picking one up. It seems to be the best deal around for that size.

Thanks sneezy :) A little tungsten fill lighting to warm things up a bit.

Yes, love my 5D. That is the lens I was using.

Couldn't be happier with the HVY beaker. The perfect size for my situation. I need to get over to Iwein's hot water vaporbong thread and give a little review on it, since that's what inspired me to get it.

OK so I have had my WDZ for a little over 24 hours.....came on a weekend so I have been giving it one hell of a break in :D. So far I am loving this thing. The fit and finish are fantastic, this thing is very solid. Nice wood, mine has a little blueish waterfall on it. I was worried about the unit not running hot enough with all the talk I have read about the 12 vs 13.5 adapters, but after letting it warm up for an hour I was able to get solid vapor. Last night it had warmed very nicely and I am able to pull nice clouds. This thing is amazing at how medicated you can get with such a small dose, all the "rumors" are true. The stems are solid & well built with amazingly small bowls that do a great job of getting the entire load evenly browned. Todd was a pleasure to deal with and thats saying alot as I can be a pain in the a$$, I was like a kid on Christmas Eve waiting for this thing to come. I ordered on a Monday and had it by Friday, very fast. So far I couldn't be happier with the purchase. I feel this style of vape is a must have for anyone with a collection. It definitely serves it purpose very well. To be able to get my hands on a quality piece like this so quickly was wonderful. Pics below. In the pic of the top of the unit I added a SS screen myself, just cut one to size and dropped it in there.

No sweat OC. Rick and Todd and friends and I'm sure Rick/Todd wouldn't mind. :) Anyway, glad you were happy with your experience and have a great time with your new WDZ.

Looks like a nice vaporizer with many happy customers and great customer service. I see the stem is referred to as being composed of nylon. It looks like plastic?

Purple Days says their stems are plastic, polypropylene. Yesterday I came across an article that puts the blame on heated polypropylene in an asthma case: http://erj.ersjournals.com/cgi/reprint/7/2/415.pdf

End of last year I came across an article that reported an analysis of some polypropylene, purported to be just that, was found to contain Bisphenol A which is implicated in auto-immune disorders. When I looked for the link I couldn't find it but will keep looking and will edit once I do.

I don't think claims that these vaporizers are non-toxic can be made until plastic is taken out of the picture. You're not only sucking on, but heating and sucking on, the most toxic part.

I wish there was a healthy alternative to this crappy plastic. Like wood. Something truely Pure. Glass breaks.

:peace:

modnote: If you are going to call a vaporizer's safety into question, you can make a thread in General Discussion. Do NOT do it in a model thread, especially in a 'competing' product's thread.
