How the "Best Of" threads work. Post nominations here.

Many of our threads have become so long that it has gotten difficult for people to find the good stuff. To cope with this, we use "Best Of" threads.

These threads are created by copying the best posts for each thread to a locked thread in this sub-forum.
  • We will copy posts based on your recommendations.
  • Anyone can nominate a post by simply posting a link to it in this thread. Place your cursor over the number in the lower right corner of the post, then right-click and copy the link.
  • Nominated posts should be reasonably well-written and provide useful information.
  • Once a nomination has been dealt with, it will be removed from this thread.
We hope that these threads become a valuable resource over time, but this depends on the community. These threads will be as good as you make them. Note that they will be always be unfinished, and will usually not have much in them when they are started.

Finally, we reserve the right to make the decision whether a post will be included or not.

Please do not start discussions here. Make your comments in the Best Of... thread in the Community section. To make this work, we need volunteers. Thanks for helping.

Edit to add clarifications
  • You can put as many nominations in a post as you like within the 10,000 character limit.
  • You can nominate your own posts.
  • Valid respectful criticisms should be selected. These aren't fan threads.
  • Problem descriptions are important even if they are unresolved.
  • The posts selected can be identified by the Best Of FC badge:

This badge is a link back to the relevant "Best Of" thread.

I don't have any nominations for a Pax thread, but there needs to be a best of for the Pax as it is a difficult item both to use and to clean and care for.

This i think too:
At least you guys are breaking them attempting beneficial mods and not just throwing them through the air

Heard back from Aroma-Tek.... YEP, on a SUNDAY at that.. Here is what they said....

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and we're sorry to hear that. You may be able to manually reset your Air. Please try the following:

Plug the charger into the wall outlet
Plug the charger into the AIR unit
press and hold both buttons for approximately 4 seconds
wait for 10 seconds then unplug from charger

If this doesn't resolve the problem and it's consistently doing this we can provide our return instructions so we can test out the unit.

I gave it a try and the unit is running fine again thankfully. Granted i didnt test the unit this morning before the manual reset so it could have just cooled off enough and went back to working properly.. Then again it could of just needed a reset. LOL

Either way my AA is back operational now, and from now on after the 2nd (back to back) session i will turn it off and give it a break instead of running it 4 times consecutively. That should increase the life of the unit hopefully.

Have to give props to Aroma-tek for helping me get things situated even on a Sunday though.

Arizer Air :
Got a response.

"Hello,Thank you for your email.

The double cyan LED at start up indicates that you did not wait long enough to try and set the temperature / you pressed the Up arrow button too soon after powering on the unit. When powering on the Air unit, press and hold the Up & Down Arrow buttons for approximately 2 seconds, watch for the top LED to flash cyan once quickly and then blue once, and then you can set the temperature. If the unit shows double cyan LEDs, simply turn it off and then turn it back on again.
If you have any further questions please feel free to ask!Best Regards,AmyArizer Tech"
And this should stick on bests too.

No2 screen, Ebay 1/2 inch dome screen, ebay 1/2 inch dome flattened, home made dome, home made dome.
Home made ones I used 5/8 screen and shaped and trimmed them.

Flattened Ebay dome cuts stem in half and no herb stuck around sides. I use this the most no stirring needed at all.

And No2 screen in mouth end of stem.

I use them in all my solo/Air stems, keeps bud out of mouth and when it clogs I stick it in stem and vape it. looks fudged up but fits in perfectly.

You can make the screens shape them over a sharpie and trim.
I made some with a deep well socket and a drilled hole in a 2x4 and just hammered it through
the softer the screen the easier it is to make.
But the stiffer the screen the longer it lasts and keeps its shape. The Ebay ones are nice and stiff.
@Ratchett was looking into making a screen press also.
but if you dont want to make em yourself the Ebay ones that @Sinclue came across are a great deal as long as you dont lose them you'll have more than you will need.

Ebay domed link, you can ask for any amount I bought 10 and got 12.

Hi
Arizer Air :
Challenge accepted :science:

Left to right starts unvaped then one stem for each temp, I have had slightly darker results with diff strains, the most impressive thing was the Air managed 5 stems back to back without any trouble, no funny lights just kept going:rockon:

A Ti VonG S with a 14mm body will fit into a regular Dynastash/ER. The 18mm wide version will not fit into any current Dynastash/ER.

For your Vapcap, you could add a package or Condenser Orings and a package of High Temp Orings for the tip and maybe an extra screen. It is highly unlikely that these will be required, but they take up little space and are inexpensive. I have had my Vapcap since June and only one oring had to be replaced when I over stretched it. And I could have been just fine without replacing it.

You should be able to vape for more than six weeks before it needs cleaning. But, everyone vapes differently and you may want to clean the tip and condenser, so those supplies might be handy to have with you.

A couple butane lighters or three and a can of butane.

A healthy six week supply of herb, hash or concentrate of your choice would save the trouble of running dry. :) If you are going for the concentrates, degummed hemp fiber makes a nice bed, or SS concentrate pads if you are going with oils.

Have a GREAT time!!!
