The news just broke:

"FBI investigating apparent cyberattack on Clinton campaign."

So first it was the DNC and now it's the Clinton Campaign.

I wonder why there are no hacks coming to light on the RNC or Trumps campaign? Hmmmmm.......:hmm:

Why do I smell a possible digital Watergate here......??

Trump’s Supreme Court Pleas are Falling on Deaf Ears
by Martin Longman
July 29, 2016 11:21 AM

Folks over at Red State are unimpressed and unconvinced by Donald Trump’s insistence that Republicans have “no choice” but to vote for him because of concern about the ideological makeup of the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court is at a tipping point, divided 4-4 between conservatives and liberals, it could soon have a progressive-minded majority for the first time in decades. For socially conservative Christians, this has the potential to end the rationale for their participation in politics. At the end of the first term of a Clinton presidency, it’s likely that the ideological balance of the Court will be 6-3 or even 7-2. That would put the hope of overturning Roe v. Wade so far off in the future that the mission would lose its power to inspire action.

Therefore, no group should be more receptive to Trump’s message on the necessity of voting for him than the Christian conservatives at Red State. But they’re not buying it because they have other principles that are just as important to them.

The Republican coalition as a whole has been trying to gain an edge on the Democrats through the Court by weakening the labor movement, gutting the Voting Rights Act and knocking down barriers and limits to large and unaccountable political donations. Therefore, both the party operatives and the business interests that utilize the party to further their agendas should be receptive to Trump’s argument.

But they’re not as receptive as you might expect. Most of the party establishment is feeling homeless precisely because they can’t in good conscience support Trump. Meanwhile, corporate America wants no part of Trump’s form of religious and ethnic bigotry or Mike Pence’s homophobia. They don’t want his trade protectionism or immigration policies, either, and that only adds to their indifference to the Supreme Court argument.

The Conservative Movement has lost the will to fight using the tools they’ve been using to fight.

Trump’s pleas are falling on deaf ears.

You Must Unlearn, What You Have Learned...
I know so many people that are unfortunately voting for the Donald, I can't persuade them to not, so I've been talking up the fuck it let's not even vote ploy. I think it will work on some... Strikingly they all bring up no flags at dnc, I want to tell them if you listened to both conventions it's easy to see who really loves their country, quit watching Fox News! That wouldn't play well with my grand ploy though.

I hope you are setting them straight with the facts; likely won't work, but only facts in one's face can mirror their ignorance to them. I just checked Google and see the not-right-minded have begun new spin to refute fact checking Snopes.com.
Snopes.co, "The flag rumor, as is typical, went through multiple mutations as those who spread it repeatedly shifted the goalposts to try to keep up with the debunkings, moving it from "there are no flags (of any kind) at the DNC" to "there were no flags at the DNC on Day 1" to "there were no actual flags at the DNC on Day 1," to "there were no actual flags on stage at the DNC on Day 1" to "there were no actual flags on stage at the DNC for the entirety of Day 1" — and, as is also typical, we've continually modified our article to keep up with the shifting rumors."

Ganga Baba comment: The moving goal post and never stop lying echo chamber of the never-right-minded keeps lies alive for decades, without evidence- only spin.

...Why do I smell a possible digital Watergate here......??

Here is an essay that starts with the Watergate memory, but the big story is the now irrefutably proven crimes of Richard Nixon in 1968 when his team negotiated secretly with South Vietnam, behind President Johnson's back, while peace talks had begun with North Vietnam.

"There have long been rumors that the Nixon campaign ... open a back channel between Nixon’s campaign and the South Vietnamese government. ...any peace agreement with the North would likely undercut the Saigon government’s legitimacy... (Saigon thus) willing to block agreement on a bombing halt. ...there was no agreement, and Nixon won a narrow victory.

"Now, thanks to a remarkable book by Ken Hughes, we know that the rumor is actually incontestable fact. The author produces archival evidence from the Johnson presidential library, intercepts from the FBI and NSA and the Johnson tapes themselves to demonstrate not only that Nixon was conspiring with a foreign power to undermine US diplomacy (an act of treason on its face) but that Johnson knew it and concealed it — which is why most Americans don’t know it."

Republicans are actually traitors and anti-American*. They are not conservative, they are regressive.
They are actually anti-constitution. Reagan went behind Carter's back. House Republicans recently went behind President Obama's back.

*Yes, I know, proud party of the penny man and all that un-updated resume rot.
However that glory is gone, changed with Johnson and the Civil and Voting Rights laws and Nixon's racist southern strategy At that time, the Republican Party became the party of the rich using their new racist base. Soon the evangelical, 'roll it all back to Leviticus and Deuteronomy' dudes joined the party base, wisely infiltrating the government from the bottom up.

Presently the rich have lost control, even as it seems that the rich have dropped the pretense of front men and are running their own.

Google the story of Bush's firing all 50 States Attorneys General (that's how Christie got his AG job), and filling the Justice department with Liberty University grads.

Yes she is committed to lying, spreading disinformation and ignoring facts:)
And she is really good at it.
REALLY good at it. And she makes me fucking nuts. She is his biggest asset just for that reason. One of the best liars I have ever seen, and I've been watching politics my whole life.

She must be a lawyer.

Probably, but a lot of the talking heads and political pendants on TV are lawyers also but they don't hold a candle to her. No doubt she's being compensated really well.

And yeah, she drives me fucking nuts too, but the lady's got skills. That's for sure. She never get's pissed or flustered when being attacked or challenged. Not even a hint of a flinch. She just smiles and clearly states her case.

If I ever needed a public spokeswoman, and if I could afford her, she'd be at the top of my list.

She always questions why Hilary isn't being questioned about something worse. Usually the emails or now what Trump referred to as the phoney server.

Is it possible that Trump is pulling off the Yuuuugest trolling project ever.
I think of it as trumpian performance art :spliff:

At a certain point you hope for a candidate that has integrity, purity, honesty, vision, and finally a person who has not had their hand out taking huge amounts of money from special interests, banks, corporations, and foreign governments. A person who actually is able to represent all of the American people in a way that would have been better for ALL of us.
:myday: :D

Katarina Pierson Is Trumps surrogate/representative she used to work on the Cruz campaign. She was let go a long time ago. She didn't have an affair with Criz but wanted people to think that she did. Rumor has it that Cruz's wife had her fired.

I'm surprised CNN they keep having her on. She will say one thing then 5 min later will contradict herself.
katrina_pearson-800x430.jpg

Trump spokesperson Katrina Pierson on CNN -- (CNN screengrab)
She was involved with the Tea Party group in Texas.

She's had a hard life story but she is a liar and a nut case. She makes my head explode.

Earlier during Trump's speech he called CNN the Clinton news network because the right wing press is a bunch of liars.
He kept complaining about the bad Fire Marshall that wouldn't let more people into his rally. Eventually people started chanting "lock her up." Trump just encouraged the crowd.

Your sense of smell is excellent. This is just the beginning. My interest in these hacking stories is from way back when I used to be a phreaker and then a very small time hacker/script kitty. The early 80's were awesome. There were no laws yet. It was open season.

But yes, first the DNC and now the Clinton campaign. I am still waiting to hear the voice mails I have heard whispers about, and of course H's 33k deleted e-mails, but that will come later when the time is right. Also the IRS is now investigating the Clinton Foundation for pay to play.

As to why the RNC isn't being hacked, well my guess is they have been, we just haven't heard about it yet. And we may not depending on "their" agenda. Julian Assange does not like Hillary and makes no bones about it.

Like "they" say, whoever "they" are, there are 2 kinds of businesses in America. Those that have been hacked by the Chinese and those that don't know they have been hacked by the Chinese. At least intellectual property theft is something I can wrap my brain around, however, what Russia is doing manipulating our elections is fascinating yet deeply troubling.

Time to look up some old friends . . .

Watch Bill Maher. Bill says Hillary needs to own being the bad girl. I missed Bernie. I need to watch it again.
The Notorius HRC
I'm looking forward to the debates with Hillary and Trump on stage together.

CNN keeps playing Mr Khan at the DNC convention last night. The father of the Muslim soldier that was killed, who had the U.S Constitution in his pocket and wondered if Trump needed to borrow it. That was an amazing moment.

The hackers are just out to get the democrats. There's plenty of shit going down in the Republican Party especially with the RNC. All of the issues with them coming to terms with having Trump as their nominee? It's got to be a gold mine.

I am not a security expert but I have zero doubt we have the technology to protect sensitive data from hackers much, much, better than we are.
That sir is a bold statement that I would ask you to reconsider. I will remind you that Israel used Stuxnet to burn out Iran's uranium centrifuges. This was accomplished with an infected thumb drive that an unwitting employee plugged in at work.

Look at what NSA has accomplished. Look at what nation states are doing. Nothing is safe no matter who you are. This is an arms race pure and simple. There is an "order" of security that can be afforded by businesses and people that make them completely vulnerable all the time. Nation states will always be the top of the heap but rest assured they can be compromised as well. The weakness comes not from in between systems, that's encrypted, but from what lies at either end. When direct hacks come up short we only need to look to social engineering for a solution. Like I said before, a disgruntled employee, an employee that has been approached and turned by spies, or an unwitting idiot to plug in the USB drive you just infected is all you need.

Khizr Khan's speech was brilliant. Here is an American citizen, father of an American war hero, who is directly injured by Donald Trump. He represents American Muslims and all the other groups scapegoated by Putin's poodle. Khan's words were simple but they drove a stake into the heart of Donald Trump's campaign and the republican party complicit in that campaign. Our country is founded on the notion that all are created equal, deserve equal justice under the law, and that there shall be no established religion or religious tests here. Numerous policies proposed by Trump are out and out unconstitutional and the repubs should be ashamed for backing him (especially after all their fucking bs about the constitution and 'religious liberty'. When push came to shove they abandoned the constitution with scarcely a whimper). Fox studiously avoided Khan's speech in their coverage the night of the convention.

Letter to the Hebrew Congregation of Newport, Rhode Island

August 18, 1790
Gentlemen.

While I receive, with much satisfaction, your Address replete with expressions of affection and esteem; I rejoice in the opportunity of assuring you, that I shall always retain a grateful remembrance of the cordial welcome I experienced in my visit to Newport, from all classes of Citizens.

The reflection on the days of difficulty and danger which are past is rendered the more sweet, from a consciousness that they are succeeded by days of uncommon prosperity and security. If we have wisdom to make the best use of the advantages with which we are now favored, we cannot fail, under the just administration of a good Government, to become a great and a happy people.

The Citizens of the United States of America have a right to applaud themselves for having given to mankind examples of an enlarged and liberal policy: a policy worthy of imitation. All possess alike liberty of conscience and immunities of citizenship. It is now no more that toleration is spoken of, as if it was by the indulgence of one class of people, that another enjoyed the exercise of their inherent natural rights. For happily the Government of the United States, which gives to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance requires only that they who live under its protection should demean themselves as good citizens, in giving it on all occasions their effectual support.

It would be inconsistent with the frankness of my character not to avow that I am pleased with your favorable opinion of my Administration, and fervent wishes for my felicity. May the Children of the Stock of Abraham, who dwell in this land, continue to merit and enjoy the good will of the other Inhabitants; while every one shall sit in safety under his own vine and figtree, and there shall be none to make him afraid. May the father of all mercies scatter light and not darkness in our paths, and make us all in our several vocations useful here, and in his own due time and way everlastingly happy.

Go. Washington

From the article you referenced:

"You read that right: The post-quantum algorithm protects you from hackers from the future, but it might be vulnerable against today's machines. Conversely, the elliptic-curve algorithm Google is normally using might be worthless against future's quantum computers, but it's the best option against the computers of today."

I am very familiar with quantum computing. The reason it can break the encryption we now have is interesting if you understand the philosophy behind it. Its not that our encryption now is unbreakable, it totally is, however trying to break it will take more time than the universe's expected lifetime. Thats the basis on how encryption works. If it takes longer than the expected life of the universe to break it then it was deemed protected. Quantum computers break this with being able to do many more calculations with a different level of reasoning so this is not in play anymore. I think you will find that quantum computers also will have their Achilles heel, however only time will tell.

Let the arms race continue . . .

Flags, lapel pins etc are all they have to attack anyone left of Attila the Hun.
I mean who really believes that flags, lapel pins, mentions of the skyfairy have anything whatsoever to do with patriotism or right and wrong? Well, right wingers really love that schtick.
Serious issues like:
Attacking Iraq when it was completely unwarranted.
Torture
Reagan before taking office colluding with the Ayatollah to hold back the freeing of the hostages so that Carter would not get the credit he deserved. Carter was a great president by the way. REAGAN AND CREW TRAITOROUS BEHAVIOR
Reagan illegal arms deals.
Nixons colluding with the North Vietnamese http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-21768668 TRAITOROUS ACTIVITY

That is the shortlist.

Dems do not know how to fight back and I am pretty happy to see that Hillary is a fighter. We need more of that.

We always hear how wonderful Ronald Reagan was with the Republican Party. Well they seem to own the bigoted views attached to their party. Thanks to themselves and now Donald Trump.

Ronald Reagan refused to help his friend Rock Hudson when he was dieing of AIDS. He was afraid how this would make him look. He actually let his lifelong friend down when he needed help the most. Nancy Reagan agreed with her husband. We don't want to be associated with the gay people.

Reagan's disease of Alzheimer's started way sooner than most of the public realized. His wife heloed him with major decisions throughout his presidency. Nancy Reagan was his protector and chief.

Trump's surrogate like Jeffrey Lord keeps comparing him to Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan acted like nice person and took pride in America. They assume people have forgotten Ronald Reagan. Trump is no Reagan.

Edit
Also what Reagan did for mental health in our country. He pretty much dismantled it. Do you wonder why there are so many nut cases walking the streets? That happened under the Reagan administration.

All the Oliver North stuff happened under Reagan.
