Hi FC ers

A good buddy of mine has been after a portable vape now for awhile but isn't incredibly flush with cash and is looking for something in the £50-£70/$65-$95 can any of the esteemed experts at FC help out with a few suggestions. I did mention he may struggle at that price point for something decent unless I'm mistaken.
It will be used for herb only no oils or concentrates. Cheers.

Check the dynavap vapcap if he is ok with butane powered vapes. I have a tiwoody and love it, although he might have to wait over a month for it to arrive.
If he prefers battery powered, maybe a focusvape could do the trick too ;)
Both of them have their own threads, you should check them out for more info

I second the Dynavap Vapcaps. Prices range from $30 - $150 US. It's tiny and efficient. It is a fun to use and has dethroned my other vapes. I use the Vapcap almost exclusively now.

It is not only a decent vaporizer, it is a fantastic vaporizer! The best I've tried really. Simple, elegant, modular and powerful.

Here is a Ti Woody S model with a Blackwood body and a Burl mouthpiece.

I don't think there is a reseller in the EU or UK for the Vapcap, at least last time I checked. Vapefiend had it but is out of stock since a while.
I would recommend your friend a Vapman as the basic model goes for 80€ and it's an excellent vaporizer, definitely one of my favorite.

No worries. Scores of folks have received their Vapcaps from Georges website in the states to all points overseas. The Vapcap is cheap to ship. Here is his website.

The Vapman a the Lotus were my daily drivers until I got my vapcaps. Now they sit sit in the corner, lonely and gathering dust. The Vapcap is king.

Don't get me wrong, they are both excellent vapes and I will not part with them, but the Vapcap is a bit more fun to use, has a smoother vapour, more consistent and is just handier all round. The Vapcap does not require a dedicated heat source or specific type of torch. Any heat source will do; jet lighter, 1, 2, 3 or 4 jets, bic lighter, campfire, candle , stove element, oil lamp, etc.

Here is how I rate the three....

1. Vapcap
2. Lotus
3. Vapman

The only one I know of in that price range in the UK is the Vapefiend Storm : https://www.vapefiend.co.uk/storm-vaporizer-pen.html
The Storm is my wife's favorite. She uses nothing else, even at home, despite having multiple options like the always ready e-nano and big hitting EVO. She loves the inexpensive Storm pen sleeve, which helps to keep the mouthpiece secure when pulling out of your pocket, and provides cooler handling.

Coupon code 'fcstorm' also seems to be still working, for a very significant discount. If that runs out of gas, 'storm' code is good for 15% off. Add the pen sleeve and a glass mouthpiece, and free overseas shipping kicks in. If I sound like an advertisement, can't help it. It's a great portable for everyday use and Vapefiend has excellent service.

I know that Dynavap ships worldwide but if you add shipping fares, possible import taxes, customs and shipping time you can see as someone could just prefer to buy from within the EU. Also if you'll ever need a replacement part you are going to pay more again.
Anyway I'm really interested into the Vapcap as the Vapman & Lotus currently are my daily drivers and it really seems a convenient device expecially outdoor.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. I have a vapcap in my collection from the early days of preorders and it is a great vape but I think he will be more likely to go for a battery based vape over a butane powered. I have looked into the ones suggested and it looks like the Focusvape seems to be the better of the bunch from reading the threads. I have looked and found the focusvape at amazon for £58.99 a great price! Any more suggestions appreciated ;)

My only concern from visiting their website, is the appalling English leads me to believe it is a Chinese company which raises concerns over materials used and quality of air-path.

It has so many errors and inaccuracies,to me it set off alarm bells. Perhaps others can advise if it is any good or genuine. I have a Yocan Evolve so being Chinese in and of itself is not an issue, however, it does require due diligence!

Thanks for the input much appreciated. You recommend the Storm and the quality of Chinese vapes but as far as I know that is also of Chinese origin? I dont really have an issue with Chinese as long as it is put together correctly and safe. I am pretty sure most vapes are assembled and manufactured in China. The few that aren't still have MOST if not all the parts manufactured in China for assembly elsewhere.

Did you read the thread about the focusvape? I read it and yes there are 1 or 2 issues that some members have had but on the whole from reading the thread and watching a few reviews on youtube it sounds like quite a good unit for the price and peoples opinions on the focusvape tend to be lying more on the side of the Focusvape over the Storm.

@delloy For sure, most stuff in the world is now made in China, mores the pity, UK manufacturing has all but vanished :(

As I said being Chinese is not the issue, not bothering to get your English website checked by someone who speaks English and having information with images that is clearly incorrect, always makes me nervous, what else do they have a hap hazard, can't be arsed attitude towards? Let's hope it isn't your lungs!

>> Did you read the thread about the focusvape?

Nope, never even heard of them before, which is why I visited their site out of curiosity and that's when the alarm bells went off.

If you are happy with the quality and others have confirmed its safety, then it certainly looks nice. Though the MSRP on their site shows as $119.99 which is also outside the price range you quoted, so be careful if you can find one much cheaper, as it could be a fake.

I dont think there is much chance of it being fake purchasing it from Amazon via focusvape @£58.99 And £63 at everyonedoesit.com with a 20% discount code ;)

https://www.amazon.co.uk/FocusVape-...UTF8&qid=1469728226&sr=8-1&keywords=focusvape

https://www.everyonedoesit.co.uk/focusvape.html Discount code : AFFJULY20

@lookhigh The problem I find with buying second hand in the UK is there isn't much available as vaping isnt as well regarded in the scheme of things here, the majority still combust. If you also look at the "For Sale" threads here most are US based and not many will take the risk in shipping a used vape across borders let alone continents. :)
