If the Russians have them and make them available we won't know it came from them.

Regardless what the press says, we would KNOW if the Russians hacked her server but....... in the interest of national security, it would be wise not to admit that for if we did admit it, we would be admitting that we had the ability to spot their methods and if they knew that, those methods could potentially change.

In the world of intelligence, it's more important to keep our successes secret than our failures.

One thing is certain our current two-party system is completely dysfunctional and is no longer able to serve Americans because the political will to cooperate and get things done is drowned out by the constant partisan fighting.
There is NOTHING wrong with the two party system. What is wrong is that one of the two parties has arbitrarily decided to stop playing by the rules as they exist and have existed and worked (for the most part) for dozens of elections and over 100 years.

Of course the rules have changed over time, but cooperatively, not in an effort to break the system. That is what the current republicans are doing, breaking the system rather than accept what the American people want.

What is wrong with the two-party system is BOTH parties have been bought by lobbyists and special interests with the exception of a single senator from Vermont.
What is wrong with the two party system is that one of the parties keeps (intentionally) electing people who promise to tear it down instead of doing the work to keep it together and make it better. Changing the system is not the solution. Electing people who want to make America BETTER on the Republican side is what needs to change.

We USED to have a Republican party that wanted to make America better. The current powers that be have driven that kind of Republican out of politics.

Even Ronald Maximus couldn't get elected to the Republican party today.

If you throw private financing of political campaigns into the mix and you end up with a class of politicians that work hard everyday to raise campaign funds. The people, oh they were forgot about. Why? Because the people are not the ones footing the campaign bills for the purchased politicians.

This campaign money that politicians work so hard to earn from the 1% uber-rich --- It's their CRACK and they are all hardcore addicts.
That is INCREDIBLY easy to fix. All you need is people who actually want to fix it. We could fix it in one congress and take 90% of the money out of politics, along with all of the corruption and quid pro quo that comes along with it.

A Party makes deals and gives tit for tat or Pro Quid Pro and all good. Asking to give a little to get a little is what government is. A person does the same and it is bribery and collusion. Group good, personal enrichment bad.
When the have nots wish to change who is in charge some of the first mud slung is pointing out past agreements of other side while ignoring one own transgressions. All in all it creates cynicism in the process.
Yet there must be fluidity. I tell my kids (the 53 and the 52 year old) Hope is what you need. In Philosophy, Politics, Economics and even Ethics. Whether you achieve your goals isn't half as important than having hope for them.
We are human. We strive and reach for the stars. We rarely get what we want but the fun is in the trying.

I feel the same way you do. Its been so long that I can't remember the last time I went up there. If we both decide to go we should meet.

Absolutely :)

They are they same in my estimation in that they are both VERY BAD CANDIDATES not worth the reward of my vote! Equivalencies can be listed until the cow jumps over the moon and the cheese turns green, I will not ascribe to any of it - bad is bad, period, end of story... you lose face with me, irrevocably, forever. I can abide an individual who admits genuinely to making ten mistakes, but not ten lies for one mistake. I can abide a well-grounded individual who has a healthy well-intentioned imagination who can share the dream, but not a fear monger who can't discern reality beyond the horizon of his own greedy nose. Yeah, I get that withholding my vote is possibly a vote for the other guy, but somehow that argument still isn't compelling enough for me to get out of bed on election day. Let the house burn down - from the rubble & ashes let the Phoenix rise... or not.

The two party system is the pendulum that swings and it's a wrecking ball...
10 lies? What are you talking about?

Elect Democrats. And tell 'em I sent ya...

California more recently de-elected enough Republicans to end the obstructionism, raised taxes and generally reversed the regressive trends towards 'race-to-the-bottom' governance so popular in regressive circles.

California has started to prosper again.

"California’s economy is improving, and its budget is finally balanced—partly because of budget cuts and a voter-approved tax hike in 2012, and partly because the stock-market boom* has translated into more tax receipts from California’s wealthiest residents (the ones with those high income-tax rates)."
Google is your friend

Recently one here reported that no recovery was seen where he/she lives; Pennsylvania as I remember.
Yes there are places in the USA that continued to suffer during these past seven years of actual recover impeded by anti-American Republican obstructionism (remember 1/21/2009).
Republican controlled states like Kansas, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin (compare to Democratic Minnesota next door) are real life laboratories of proof that Republicans can not govern, only exploit America.

* Apparently never happened according to the Trump-pets

I'm a New Yorker and I know a con man when I see one! ...

Trump wants to deport illegal immigrants but he has no problem hiring them, what I miss here? Truth be told the richest thing about Donald Trump is his hypocrisy!

I lost it!

"Let's elect a sane, competent person........" I fell off the couch on that one..................so did Bill. lol !!

weighty issues do not rule us. We are a people of comedic substance.
Well if its the best entertainer that is going to win that might favor Trump.

I missed Biden's speech because I was playing Parcheesi with my mom and her sister. I'll have to go to C-Span online and listen.

On another note, did anyone hear that there are now DNC voicemails being released in addition to the e-mails? I thought I was hallucinating but maybe not . . .

Obama has been such a cool president. I will miss him. I could listen to him speak all night. His wife still out did him speaking during the DNC. Both made me cry. What a competent person.

The picture that the Republicans paint of America is different than what I see and feel. I wish he could give it 4 more years. He probably wouldn't want to even if it was constitutional.

I love Joe Biden. I felt so sad about him losing his son to cancer.

Bill Maher is on, DNC coverage.

Edit
I'm hoping all of Trump's crazy stuff will scare the voters into voting some of the republicans out come November.

From what I’m reading on Twitter these leaked voicemails include those from children and family of DNC employees. This is fundamentally un-American. Obviously Trump, Assange, and Putin are in league. I can hardly believe this is happening. Whoever can help keep pressure on the media to report exactly what this is must do so.

I think the bernie voters that are going third party are trying to be constructive, by not commiting actual anarchy in the us and at least participating in democracy. Better third party than anarchy? Pretty much the same thing when the outsider candidate wants to literally burn it all down anyways. And this is what I worry about, when drumpf loses we could get quite a bit of acting out on the streets. And then more gridlock in washington, unless congress turns over a new leaf, not likely lol. There's a twisted logic in voting third party and letting the disaster play out, then the pendulum will swing back and true rebuilding can begin. This could represent a racial divide within our younger progressives, because nobody of color will vote third party.

I'm normally with you but I disagree on this one Grok. If any group has shown tendencies to violently protest recently its the anti-Trump people and Black Lives Matter. Yes the Tea Party did vigorously protest the ACA, however with 16 out of 23 exchanges failed/bankrupt and Humana opting out because they lost a billion dollars last year, maybe, just maybe, someone had a point.
Sure, often he doesn't even make sense but the guy is fascinating like a trainwreck. You know you don't want to see the carnage but you just can't turn your head away.
This is absolutely true for me as well. My vote is still undecided, however, Bill Clinton and Obama personally moved me. The difference between the two conventions is really starting to show.
I was going to go third party but the math isn't there for it to be anything but a protest throw away vote.
Yes, I agree, this 2 party system puts us between a rock and a hard place.
