how about the enail/rig? I was originally planning on overnighting them for our trip to denver, but is there any reason not to have the 710 whip in my checked luggage?

A dabber friend of ours flies with his pelican case/enail all the time.

Puts his medical card right on top.

I flew to DC and back with full vape pens. My friend flew to Jamaica and DC with them also.

We've never had any issues.

Okay. Vacation is next week.. I'm going with the Carmex idea. Anyone have recent stories of success of demise?

I recently flew over the New Year's holiday.

After reading some of the experiences in here I decided to experiment with my flight.

I carried 5 medicinal cigs in disguise with my carry on.

My checked baggage included my Haze Vaporizer and my concentrates in my shaving bag.

Now worries either way!

Had a great New Years Celebration and vacation!

Can't wait to fly high again soon

What did you put your concentrates in?

i dont think they will get a second look in a toiletry bag. we had some live resin in the little clear pop open containers the grams came in in the wifes makeup bag without issue. I also had the 710 whip, D020. and a mini recycler in my carry on bag. Zero issues whatsoever

Used the carmex method a few weeks back with any issue. Live resin in clear plastic and the carmex covering it..even if it was opened you could not tell a thing.

yes 100% agree with t-dub. These discussions are based on domestic us flights only. International is a COMPLETE other ballgame

Yes.. Domestic. I wouldn't even try international. Plus i'm a MJJ card holder in CA. I know that only goes so far. But i have that in case.

I got caught when I was 18 years old coming back from Mexico with a 1/4 of weed. Man that sucked. They had a dog waiting at the door when we landed. I had it stuffed in my shoe like dumb ass. Well, it cost $500.00 at the airport but i got out of getting a ticket or anything else. It had to be cash...LOL. My parents paid for it. WOW. I look back now and that was such a stupid idea. This was in 1998.. Different times.

@TeeJay1952 My parents paid the price. They were hell of pissed when we left the airport. But, not on my record.

The TSA pulled me into this room where a guy (officer) watched over me for about 1 hour. Every 10 min he would look at me and shake his head. It was funny and scary at the same time.

I think as far as TsA goes like others have said they are interested in weapons and explosives. I recently traveled with my e cig and an extra bottle of liquid with concentrates dissolved in it on several trips the last few months. Never got a second look. Didn't have any raw concentrates but I did have lots of random pills in a plastic Baggie. Some were just supplements but there were also some prescription stuff not in the prescription bottles. Not even a question. Once while on the security line I was passed several times by a dog and TSA agent. Nothing. The dog is looking g for explosives and they're component parts or however it goes. Coming back from the west coast I even considered getting some shatter and bringing it back but i didn't need it so saw it as an unnecessary risk but I didn't feel at risk at all. All my e liquid was in the plastic Baggie with all other liquids. As long as you are in compliance with everything else I don't think you'll get a second look. As others have said this only pertains to domestic travel.

Taking a plane from LAX to Miami for a cruise next month.

Definitely decided flower is out of the question - too involved, stinks, etc.

Shatter and wax seem reasonable. Along with W9 gear, cleaned and with fresh coils.

Just having trouble deciding if I should keep the concentrate in a checked bag (with toiletries), or mail it to the hotel that we'll be spending one night in Miami right before the cruise. Both seem moderately risky.

I always travel with my concentrates in Tootsie Roll wraps. I've done it numerous times (repair tech I get sent all over the place) & I've never had any issue.

Totally doable either way just be careful. Hash is a fellony in Florida. A carnival cruise out of Miami worked great for me.

So get a bag of tootsies, unwrap several of them and replace with concentrate (molded into the shape of a tootsie roll, would need the right consistency material). Throw them back in the bag to blend in with the other tootsies?

Sounds pretty legit actually.

That doesn't sound like the best way to do it.

If it gets too warm you're gonna have a mess.

True. Any other ideas?

Carmex works like a champ.

Scoop out the carmex and stick some wax, shatter, live resin, ect (if you can get a semi-similar color the better, like some golden goat live resin) in a small corner of a plastic bag or whatever....plop the carmex back in, smooth it out, and you are good to go!

Ya I saw that earlier in the thread. But, how is it any different from the tootsie roll?

The tootsie roll wrapper is just like wax paper. You're not going to get an actual seal with it, especially if the wax becomes liquidy.

Honestly, after flying numerous times with vape pens, I wouldn't even stress that much about it.

As I mentioned before, we have a rich friend that flies a ton for work. He takes his whole dab rig in a pelican case with his concentrates and puts it in his checked bag. No one cares.

If I was looking to take a pen and wax, I'd probably stick in a silicone container and just put it in with my toiletries. Maybe add some more around it, like mini deoderant and mini bottles of shampoo, etc. Just to have more liquids and bottles around it. Toss it in a zip lock or zip up travel toiletries bag, and carry it on or check it.

I went to walmart and bought writing pens. I got pens with some metal on them, I don't know why, just figured they would show up on the xray more with little bits of metal, and having a vape pen with metal on it would blend in more.

They didn't give a shit from Redmond to Portland, from Portland to DC, from DC to Portland, etc. It just never came up. I just put them in my carry on and put it through the xray etc.

I was bringing pre-filled oil cartridges, as they're just smaller and easier for travel, and if they get taken I generally care less than them taking my Puffco pen. But I really wouldn't hesitate to bring either.

If I was taking an enail and rig in a case, I'd probably just clean it to spotless, and maybe have my wife carry the concentrates so it wasn't all in one place. Or more likely, I'd just mail the concentrate to wherever I was going. Then I wouldn't have to stress about anything at all, even though I was carrying a glass rig, etc.

Hey Texas - LEGALIZE IT!!
There is something I dont get; what about the dogs? They can smell it where ever you put it. If it was just about disguising it for view, Id take the risk. But dogs will smell it. How are they used? Taken out?

By reading and talking here and there, feels like those dogs are rarely taken out. Seems like my idea of random drug smelling dog walks to detect drugs is just in my head. Never heard or read about getting caught by the random drug smelling dog walking
I see the dogs pretty often when I fly, but having friends that work with those dogs, I can tell you for a fact that they are there first and foremost for bomb and explosive sniffing, then coke/heroin/etc., then cannabis. And they're looking for large amounts of cannabis being trafficked through, not your one e-pen and a joint.

So rest easy, the dogs aren't out to get you. :)

"TSA security officers do not search for marijuana or other drugs. In the event a substance that appears to be marijuana is observed during security screening, TSA will refer the matter to a law enforcement officer.

Whether or not marijuana is considered legal under local law is not relevant to TSA screening because TSA is governed by federal law. Federal law provides no basis to treat medical marijuana any differently than non-medical marijuana.

Even if an item is generally permitted, it may be subject to additional screening or not allowed through the checkpoint if it triggers an alarm during the screening process, appears to have been tampered with, or poses other security concerns. The final decision rests with TSA on whether to allow any items on the plane."
