Alconox (cleaner)

So Ive been using pbw for a year now, since following that thread here, as well as isopropyl alcohol for cleaning glass. But ever since I heard about Alconox I was intrigued. So I was researching recently and found this statement in the Q and A page on their website "Overall, the Alconox, Inc. detergents are safe to go to drain," -http://technotes.alconox.com/industry/biotechnology/alconox-inc-detergent-disposal/
I think I'm going to order some and give it a shot. They also say it's biodegradable. I know pbw is probably more eco-friendly than alconox but I want to see how it works and if it might replace isopropyl.
If anyone else has used Alconox with success please share your stories and advice.

I use it and my GLASS sparkles!

It's really for cleaning LAB equipment.
Most GLASS BLOWER'S use it.

PBW I have as well.

I don't know without a lab report?
However the ALCONOX does work well.
They say it is more toxic than PBW however the ALONOX work's well!

I make a citrus & OR water mixture for the final rinse.

Clean glass without flavor interfering with your experience.

@mvapes turned me on to it!

@Cannabis Connoisseur @Justpassedu @CarolKing I use both PWB & ALONOX both.

How grunge is a piece?
This will determine what to use?

@kellya86 can you get it in ENGLAND? (if not what do you use?)

I've used PBW but a few months ago when none was on hand, cleaned a Mothership Mini with a small strand of mold or something gross stuck in the script perc successfully with an Alconox soak. Near boiling water and hot isopropyl alcohol had failed to dislodge the offending whatever it was, but the Alconox worked very well!

Oh, I also used it on my Nibbler XL to remove some caked on stains. Not sure exactly what they were (not oil) but the Alconox did the trick.

So what exactly do you mix it with? i saw @ataxian say citrus or water mixture?
No ISO?

Is $40 this right price for this alconox? Seems a bit expensive, but Im assuming thats because it works..?
It last a long time so it's really not expensive.

PBW is a good cleaner however the ALCONOX seems to do a decent job. (more agro)

My rinse step is not necessary I'm just picky about flavor!
It's more toxic than PWB so I do my rinse for my own comfort.

Yeah the box looks big

But what do you mix it with during cleaning?
91 % ISO?

What I do is not the right way!
It's what I do for my liking!

I just use hot water from the sink 1 gallon/ 1 tablespoon let soak.
When I clean I include a additional step of RO water and a citrus fruit of some kind?
Last time I used LEMON'S.
Next time LIME'S.
Grapefruit in the fall.
I have ORANGES as well but haven't tried them?

This is because I'm a freak!

Not necessary really just what I do?

ISO 97% for SHATTER production however not for cleaning?

This sounds interesting. I would be hesitant to do that simply because unless Alcononx completely denatures the organic material you might have a residue that is biologically active.

It would be really interesting to use a distilled white vinegar or purified terpenes like d-limonene for example, to see what happens.

Well I read the PBW leaves a white film if you soak long.....so I wanted to be sure there are no such worries with Alconox?

ALOCONOX works well however it's more Toxic than PBW.
The CITRUS wash I do for my comfort.
My neighbor gave me a bag of Tangilettoes so I tried it.
This piece was made custom locally.
I will have another one made for my EVO.
The stand is build on it + I use my OGB mouth-piece. (broke my BENDER mout-piece)

Is any agitation needed or just sit and soak? How long of a dwell time do you normally use? and do you make a new batch of Alconox every time you need to clean or can you make a large batch, save and reheat it?

In terms of alconox's efficiency,

Is only a few pinches of alconox with hot water able to fully clean any small size piece?

i saw @ataxian say he uses 1 tablespoon per gallon, but I'm looking to just give the inside a quick cleaning
Whatever floats your boat?

I use whatever amount I need for a piece depending on the degree of dirtiness?
I tablespoon normally however when it's really nasty I increase the dosage.

Just clean your pieces before you vaporize.

FLAVOR = CIVILIZED

I only mix what I need at a given cleaning.
