I was just using my Milaana in a new claisen adapter and I had also ordered some PTFE 19mm joint plugs to use that also have a thermometer hole in them that I was trying out.

I ended up plugging the thermometer hole and I am waiting for my regular glass stopper order to arrive for general use and only ordered the Teflon plug out of curiousity.

But while I was was using the Milaana in this setup; I was looking at that stopper and thinking that using a PTFE (Teflon) 19mm female fitting on the Milaana and Zion would also help with limiting glass breakage to just the stems since the Teflon is really very tough material.

I haven't done the research yet; but I am under the impression that Teflon is pretty inert to higher temps and that in any case the Teflon is mostly out of the vapour flow when a stem is inserted.

Such a design would pretty well make for a bulletproof Milaana/Zion that you could use without having to worry so much about breaking the glass female joint.

If my female glass joint ever broke, I think that I would want to try to locate a 19mm Teflon female joint to glue back in ......rather than sending it back to the Mothership for repair.

Just an idea.....any thoughts?

Forgive me if I am wrong, but isn't this just a slightly better version of the mflb? [which is the worst vape I ever bought]

It's when it says 'User Controlled Temperature Settings From Length of Button Activation' that makes me think that.
I do hope I'm wrong....

I think you should read just a few pages back. People have asked the combusts question and answers have been given. And as far as any visable vapor then I must say this is 2016. And These aren't your pops vaporizers anymore. This will destroy your t levels. That's just my wallets opinions.

I hope that's the case, so no one combust's? or gets hardly any visable vapour? for me it's out of the Milaana, Grasshopper or Firefly 2

Like some of the more powerful current vapes it's POSSIBLE to combust, and also possible to get wispy barely visible vapor, but I find combustion easily avoidable, and I only get wispy hits through choice (when deliberately exploring delicious terpy low low temp vapors).
Despite having very limited manual convection vape experience, I found the Milaana easy to learn, and have combusted only once when exploring the upper temp limits through water.

I have a GH on pre-order (11 months!) and want to try one, but If I had to choose, now, between Mi/GH/FF2, I would definitely go for the Mi (even if they were all the same price BTW).
But bear in mind that I've not yet tried GH or FF2, my decision would be based on having read most of the FF2 thread, and All of the GH and RBT threads.

As soon as RBT feels ready to release a walnut or exotic wood Milaana I will be getting a second unit, no question whatsoever.

The Mi shares the on-demand and manual functions with the MFLB, but it's almost the opposite of it in practice. The MFLB takes a lot of technique to get somewhat mediocre hits because it's under powered and goes quickly from finally producing good vapor to burning. The Mi you need some technique to tame because it's powerful. You're not going to need to push it to get amazing hits, but you still might out of curiosity. That's when combustion is more likely with the Mi. Get the basics of the preheat and draw right and you'll get plenty of clouds for very little effort.

I admit that I am not a fan of the MFLB at this point and think it's a relic of the time when decent portable vapes were almost nonexistent.

My first vape was an MFLB. It was not a good experience. The Milaana has become my daily vape and works so well I'm not interested in the others you mentioned. The dynavap is the only other one I use now.

I had a MFLB for 3 years and loved it...until I tried a desktop. This thing is like the MFLB (in the most primitive sense) mixed with one of he highest powered desktops on the market. When we say clouds, we don't mean just some visible vapor. We mean full on bong milking, flavor tastin, lung bustin goodness that becomes extremely intuitive after a few days (almost instantly for some of us), and if you aren't getting the results we are, many of us would happily assist you individually until you get it perfectly (you'll get it though, it really isn't difficult at all with a few basic principles). And I'm sure if you didn't like it, someone here would happily buy it off you, they're pretty hot at the moment.

I have not used my GH once since my Mi showed up a couple months ago. That should tell you something.

And while I do still use my LB on occasion (as i do with the rest of my rather large collection) there is little comparison between the Mi and LB. The Mi is much more powerful and it uses convection technology moreso that the LB's conduction.

Afternoon all,

I'm pleased to announce after a bit of trial and error (and some helpful beta testing by some fellow FC members ;)) I'm proud to announce that my RBT Basket press is complete!

Allow me to introduce the BP465 Basket Screen Press

(or if you simply want a cheaper source for screens, you can buy a 5 pack of formed baskets here )

Questions? Comments? Feel free to PM me or head over to my official FC thread to discuss

Thanks for watching to...that's dope!

@AJS don't worry man, I have also put things off at times to post here too...glad to know I'm not the only one...lol

Like MFLB meets LSV I have said, only MFLB in simple build and wooden design (manual control too) but the power is all on demand glass desktop log like. Works similar to a Firefly but faster, easier to keep clean, longer battery life and full open loop unregulated... I also enjoy it more than my Hoppers... Its pretty intuitive when you get to know it, worth trying with less compromise than the others imo, good luck

Ordered late Thursday night, came home today from work to find my Mi waiting. Charging right now but I really don't feel like waiting. How long does the first charge take?

Also, may be a stupid question, but how do you get the screens in the stems? Also, which way? How far up? A video/pics would be helpful!

Let your batts charge all the way. Shouldn't take more than a couple hours.

Most use screen as a basket. Flat bottom in first. Just load from bottom and push in with a pen if necessary. I only put mine in deep enough for there to be a little rim of glass (2-3 mm?) showing. If it is loose in there, pull out, stretch sides a little and re-insert. You can go deeper for larger loads, but prob best to start here until you get the hang of it.

All of this and many more great tips and techniques right here in this thread. What are you doing while waiting for batts to charge if not reading here?!?!?

You'll be glad you waited for long term battery health, first one is he roughest when new fully dead, but will get quicker. Best to use something else and watch something to distract yourself (or yeah read here lol)

And yeah screens can go either way, the shorty stem should already have a screen in. @flotntoke mentioned basket style which I like for small loads but both work with whatever really. Pencil pen or some sort of wooden rod, they'll go in easier over time

Enjoy dude
