Damn, the Mi is starting to spoil my Zi experience! Exactly like how the Zi spoiled my experience with all my other vapes previously...

I got a hot running Mi, and on a fresh battery I just count "one two" of preheat, then "one two three" of trigger then "one two" of clearing and I get my first wispy hit. Then the same timing and I get that gorgeous savory first full bodied hit, the one you almost would like to eat as it feels so good!

With my sweet spot on the alpha Zion it's "one... four" preheat, "one....four" trigger, then "one...five" clearing. Previously it felt pretty quick already, but now with that almost instant Mi gratification, it's sometimes frustrating that it's so slow!

But I know that this is this relative "slowness" that makes all the difference and allows me to get cooler temperature extended sessions without stirring and better taste for longer with the Zi. That's why I don't use it at full power. I end with a darker and more uniform ABV and the taste stays excellent until the session is almost over... but of course my sessions are longer overall in return.

Still, once you get the chance to experience the quickness of the Mi, you want everything to be equally fast! So far only "the Project" is able to compete on that aspect, but it's more finicky and involved.

I'm not even mentioning how most conduction vapes feel like tiny farts of vapor in comparison to the Mi/Zi clouds...
Any other vape I own is for guests.... Tried a session in a conduction vape, hot wispy smelly harsh dry. So glad I own 4 Milaanas, and Ziggi on the way.

I ordered a Zion almost a year ago, got tired of waiting and couldn't resist the special pricing. Ordered late Thursday night, and it's already shipped and on it's way to me. Should have it Monday, wish it was today. Looking forward to finally trying out the technology. I got very close to cancelling my Zion pre-order, but I decided to see how the Mi is first and decide if the wait is worth it after.

So I finally got my hands on a Milaana a couple weeks ago, and the final verdict is I'm loving it. It definitely took me a long time to figure out, like several days. My first massive success was when I added wax in the middle of a bowl. Let me ride the heater a little harder without drying out too much and getting a dark spot. After hearing about the eq basket trick I've been able to find my rhythm with straight herb. This morning I tried it with wax in cotton and I'm loving that. This thing is truly amazing.

@scottg402 any idea what size oring that is? Or where they can be ordered? Also after trying the Mi with wax in cotton I'm very interested in trying it with that concentrate mesh, any idea where you can find anything similar?

Any specific posts I should read to help myself prepare for the technique to use the Mi? This will be my first real vape with this sort of power and control.
Few pages back, maybe 5, had lots of info on technique.

The simplest method:
Give 1-2 second preheat (maybe longer or shorter depending on unit),
Inhale (slowly and consistently) until you feel the heat rise to a pretty good temp, should take a few seconds.
Release trigger and ride out the risidual heat for a few seconds, continuing to inhale slowly to keep the risidual heat up longer without cooling it down.

This method gives you an idea of how long it takes the heater to get hot, how strong your unit is, how long the risidual heat lasts, and anything in between. If the risidual heat isn't long enough for you, you'll know to tap the trigger a few times during the decline to keep it up to your liking.

I say start with that, and the rest becomes very intuitive once you feel it out.

Tip, hold a phone flashlight to the stem to see the vapor. You can really see exactly the level of heat when vapor starts producing, and exactly how long the risidual heat can last and still produce vapor.

Best of luck!

Great advice, I cannot use another vape now, spoiled

But I like it!
I have a lot of vapes. I've given a couple away and have a few in the closet, just in case. I don't think I'll need another flower vape for a while.

I found I was leaving Zion on max and using the button more frequently. Milaana is exactly what I doing with Z, and it's still in the garage, awaiting repair. I should just send it back to get fixed, and it can be the designated deck vape...

Looks like are 2 babies have left the RBT nest at the same time. Ryan did mention my holdup was for new chargers. So if order a charger hopefully should get the newest model.

Also really looking forward to this one. Hopefully this one is it for a while. Spent way too much money last couple of months. Plus not really much other than the Zoin and the new ESV that catches my eye.

I think you have great advice @AJS. This is a great way to get a feel for the unit. What I've found myself doing more of lately is increasing my inhale instead of feathering the button. I start just like AJS suggested and then I will start with very little pull. Almost whisper-ish and like AJS was saying keep it constant. Then as the heat ramps up so dose my inhalation. I can always keep the heat perfect with clean screens. Where my technique needs tweaking is with a dirty or partially clogged screens or a partially drained battery. Then I will need to let off or feather the button or pre heat more.

Im almost positive that my way of using my Mi shortens my batteries run time. And I'm fine with that.

Had my Milaana for a while now, and it's become my daily driver. So so so much more healthier than smoking!

I've found the short stem to be too hot and throat irritating when used dry. But I guess it could be used like that when using it 'on the go'. The long stem works great for dry use, but I wouldn't take it out of the house.

My favorite way to use it involves water filtration. I'm using a small dab rig with a silicone ring around the joint and the short Mi stem. Backed up the screen quite a bit and fill up most of the joint but leave a good 2mm gap on top so there's space. Don't compress the load, only light tamping to flatten the top. I'm getting very smooth vapor that isn't irritating to lungs at all. It is possible to milk the piece with a long slow draw, but you're pretty much killing the whole load in a few pulls if you do it that way.

I really want a PWT to class it up...

Thank you man! I appreciate the kind words. Awesome advice from you too. I've stopped usin the method you described much because it's too hot in my throat with the faster airflow, but through water I copy that almost exactly. It's crazy to pull as hard as I do sometimes (not super hard, but comparatively to other vapes it's fast), and still see the vapor milking instead of thinning.
If you're going through water or the vapor isn't too harsh for you, listen to Springer's words!

Great advice,
Thanks man! You also make very insightful posts too and the Milaana thread wouldn't be the same without ya!

Looks like a job for!
Speaking of which did you notice the kick-ass basket screen tips? They work well seem durable so far clean easy in ISO/ETH and best of all can hold keif with 0 particle pass-through!:bowdown:

gYeUwYw.jpg

The above image shows on the left a RBT stock stem, on the right is a cut down ISO stem to match the relative length. Please note how this decreases the internal diameter as the glass wall is thicker, just something to note. This pick also shows off the screen well. The ISO stem has a RBT screen installed in it.

The screens @DDave has fit an RBT stem perfectly with a little bit of a scrunch on the first install, then a snug fit then on.

I have had 0 issue with the stem contacting with the heater screen with this basket screen installed on the top of a stock stem, tho I do believe the final revision will have a bit more space to work with here for safety of the unit itself.

I felt like it may have not been clear so I wanted to specify that the screen does NOT seem to be thick/large enough to make a stock RBT stem contact the heater, it's safe.

The want to grind down the joint a bit to accommodate this in the future is more of a precaution at this point.

How do i share the picture with the hashtag? I followed and liked..so i dunno..
You can screen shot the pic then repost it. Or there are repost apps that are free and make it very easy. Then just type #rbt500 in the comments of your picture. This places all of the entries in the same place for me to generate the list for the random number generator.
Here is the picture if it is easier to capture from here.

I am running the IG if anyone else has any questions about the RBT Instagram giveaway, post them here or PM me.

Just so Dab HAppy!
I put a shit ton off shatter in my short stem last night. It was 3 overzealous sessions worth. I was on the go...church bbq/ pool party so I didn't want to blow up the spot with my smelly flower sessions. It was warm and two of the shatter sessions started to melt together within the folded parchment so I just pressed all 3 together (LA Confidential, Master OG, and Headband) and set them right on the dome screen that is set at the back of the joint. I then added a little of the RBT concentrate mesh so the shatter would melt onto the mesh. I took about 7-10 huge rips last night. I kept the Mi close to horizontal and spun the stem each hit so that the shatter melted in a uniform ring around the glass as well as onto and through the mesh. I am still ripping it this morning. I will probably get near 30 rips from this method and I can stop and put it away to come back do it anytime. No mess, no fuss, no wait. This is just great!

I'm using my Zion that way this morning. I have a dedicated concentrate stem and it works great! The flavor is amazing, and quite different from my Errlectric or my w9tech stuff.

And you're not being paid to do this, running the RBT IG?

Big step up from beta tester to social media manager.

Nothing wrong with a beta member stepping up to help bring sales to a manufacturer whom he really likes. Its seriously doubtful that @DieHard would recieve any money from @RastaBuddhaTao when he doesn't make enough money to pay himself. If you know anything about business and you have paid any attention to this thread, you should be able to see RBT has basically put his family's life on credit so we can bask in the joy of using such a powerful and simple vape. The guy ain't got no money and his pot to piss in is at stake so I bet @DieHard is just being a good pal.

I volunteered to do the IG for Ryan because I believe in his product and mission. And I'm already haunting IG anyway. This really does not take a lot of time. I have already gotten back more than my initial investment (the price of my Zion preorder). I am giving back because I want to. Who can find fault with that? My time is very valuable. I don't give it lightly. I have a FT job+++

For what it's worth I love our beta tester on this site. Most are picked cause of there experience with using many different vaporizer. Sure some may be jaded more towards a technology and vaporizer style they enjoy. But I have never felt lied too here or puposely mislead into buying a vaporizer. I come here because I do value there experiences.

It's also a friendly bunch here. The mod's do a great job of weeding out the garden of bullshit that sprouts now and again
