Verdamper vs. Herborizer vs. VHW Vaporization Heat Wand

I am looking to buy my first new vaporizer! When I was in Amsterdam, I got to try the verdamper and absolutely loved it. However, through more internet research, I learned that both the Herborizer and VHW with a bong system are good alternatives too if you are looking for a glass system, which I am (sorry I fucking hate bags). I have read a lot about all three on this forum and was wondering which one you would choose. It would be extremely helpful if you have tried all three or 2 of 3, but if you have only tried the one your experience with it would also be helpful too. I would describe myself as more of a social smoker, who wants a top quality glass vaporizer system for when I have a group of friends over and only those lesser occasions, just for myself. I appreciate your input into this decision.

i have used 2 of the , the Herbo and the VHW. Progress has tried all three so perhaps he can chime in.

they are all very similar with ease of use going to Herbo and Verdamper do to GonG connections, and flavor slightly favors VHW because their heating element is completely encapsulated in glass whereas the Verdamper and Herbo have exposed heat elements

The VHW retains heat better than the Herbo due to the fact that the 5 marias in the heater cover add additional thermal mass and makes the air swirl for even cooking.

The Herbo is much easier to use due to the GonG connections but it also makes clearing it a little harder because you have to seprate the heater first, then pull out the slide when you are ready to clear it.

The good news is, you can't go wrong with any of these.

My advice is that since these are fragile items made of glass, it almost makes more sense to buy the one that is available in your continent for better customer service times. When my Herbo broke, sending it back to France from California and then getting it sent back took a full month :uhoh:

Just my 2 :2c:

Hello,

Shouldn't this thread be in the ask FC section. :p

As SM has pointed out, I have used all 3 (Hey, SM. If you have some time please share your experience with diffuser beads and insight for others in the thread I have created in the General Vap section).

Basically (IMO), the VHW produces the tastiest/cleanest vapor. The DeVerdamper has the most power and creates the largest gusts. The Herbo falls somewhere in the middle in this respect. These differences, however, are subtle.

The VHW may be the most likely to break, while the DeVerdamper has some of the most expensive glass parts to replace.

The VHW has temp control, the Herbo can, and the Verdamper can not.

Overall, IMO the Deverdamper is the dome crusher of the bunch, but is not as versatile as the others (hard to use with other glass), has no temp control (heats well and never burns tho), and is best with at least 0.5g.

The VHW is the conessieur vape, but is fairly new to the market and has had some breakage/failure issues (none personally experienced tho).

The herbo rivals the VHW in versatility and may be easier to use/less likely to break, and has been around/used longer, but lacks the all-glass path (barely).

Please do not hesitate if you have any particular questions, and enjoy the clouds (I just love that expression :D ).

Hello!!!

Funny i had this exact same question.

I have had several volcanos and a few little vapor bros type vapes

and tried the verdamp in amsterdam and loved it,

But it is a little pricey

also has the exposed heating element,

which can reduce flavor but also allows for very thick vapor, through technique, if thats what you desire.

The Herborizer is very expensive but also nice and sleek in design and adaptable to many other devices, (if you buy the herborizer in a 18mm joint and get a reducer for 20 bucks you all set!)

So i went with the VHW just got it in the mail today and just finished up with the first session...

So far my impressions of the thing are positive...

Takes a moment to heat up, Kindof Delicate seaming, also has a long cord which can be dangerous.

All of this they tell you about before you buy it though and it all seemed worth it for me.

Becuase of...

The price, after shipping and with a 14mm bowl it was 250usd$ Not to bad

Flavor, all glass except the stainless screen.

Adaptability, can use with many other GonG pipes with an adapter= 20usd$

So if you want to save a bit of money, have all the benefits and more and dont mind babying the thing go with the VHW

If style is what you are after, go with the Herborizer, and if you want something in the middle, go with the Verdamper.

Oh and if you do get the Herborizer get the XL, dont bother trying to save some money, static heat is just not as efficient

lepstadder, thanks for that even-handed comparison. One question though... if you were going to a desert isle, and could only take one of these vapes....

Thanks everyone for your input. I have only tried the verdamper, but since I live in America, it might be smart to go with the VHW. However, talking about style, I feel like the verdamper is tops and it does hit hard! I'll let you know which one I choose. If anyone still has more input please chime in, it will probably be a few weeks (or more) before I actually put in an order.

Hello everyone. I recently joined this board, but am a seasoned vapist. I recently got an Herborizer Sphere XL and LOVE it. (I'll never vape anything but water-filtered glass now!) I have a few very pressing questions though, that I can't find the answer to anywhere.

1) Does anyone know where to buy/how to build a battery for the herborizer? I'd like to make it portable for use in my igloo out in my woods  I have the car adapter too, so maybe there is a battery-powered cigarette lighter device for powering such equipment?

2) I am considering getting a Verdamper as well. I read though that it works best with 0.5 g's or more. Can it use less, or is it not worth it? Also, is there a battery option for this too? How does the smaller version compare? The Verdamper's site has a pic of Evert vaping it up overlooking the Netherlands landscape, and he's got a battery in his bag somwhere, anyone know how to set this up? Seems ideal.

Thanks anybody, for your help.

when you say car adaptor - do you mean its got a plug that you put into the cig lighter socket in your car? if so, then get something like this:

http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brow...liary%2BPower%2BSource%2BOutlet.jsp?locale=en

plug your car adaptor into the aux. power source. then splice battery terminals and an inline fuse (not sure what size you would need), on the ends of the aux power source. hook it up to a standard car battery.

please note: i am not an electrician!!

Quick addition: The fixed temp Herborizer uses 13.8v. A fully charged, like new condition car battery will be anywhere between 13.2-13.6v. Lower if the battery is older and/or not fully charged. Cheapest portable setup to make would be a three 6v SLA batteries in series (18v) with a 5-amp max regulator to bring it down to around 13.8v.
