Discontinued miVape by Vaporfection

I don't have one of these but if I did I would try soaking the mouthpiece in a ziplock bag with some hot ass water and some oxyclean . This cleans heavily reclaimed glass pieces with no iso needed ... just an idea
Thanks for this. Not sure I'd use laundry detergent on something I"m "breathing" through, but maybe the dishwasher stuff?

Sorry, I was too harsh in my previous post. I think I let unrelated frustration bleed through...

With an all glass mouthpiece the miVape has potential to be far better than it is right now.

edit.
Someone here on FC recommended PBW - "Powdered Brewery Wash" for cleaning. It's amazing. Soak equipment overnight in PBW solution, rinse the following morning - no scrubbing required! It really works wonders. As a bonus PBW is environmentally friendly.

I'm just waiting for my Grasshoper to arrive should be here next month. In the meantime.... Why is the plastic mouthpiece such a big problem for you guys I mean the crafty has plastic cooling unit and mouthpiece.

I too am waiting for my hopper and I too find myself looking at other vapes to pass the time. Like it says under my avatar...

Anyway, my understanding is that the Crafty mouthpiece disassembles for cleaning. The miVape mouthpiece is a single "glued-together" assembly (I don't know that there is actual glue involved). The mouthpiece cannot be opened without destroying it and with the mouthpiece intact there is no way to get to the vapor channels inside to clean them manually. Soaking the entire mouthpiece in iso discolors the plastic. Some folks (myself included) are concerned that the discoloration is an indication of some sort of chemical reaction that compromises the mouthpiece.

It's a shame because the miVape is otherwise a great unit. What it excels at is providing amazing taste, but once the mouthpiece gets all gunked up, that taste is compromised.

New mouthpieces are $20 and it's not like they gunk up instantly, so it's not a massive expense to replace them, but it's still a consumable expense that was not expected based on the information available before purchase.

An easy to clean all-glass mouthpiece would make the miVape a clear winner. In response to the first wave of concerns, Vaporfection said they were working on a glass replacement, but that was back in November 2015 and we've heard nothing since. That's surprising given the galaxy-class customer service provided by Dan at Vaporfection when the miVape first rolled out.

As it is, if the hopper is the game changer for me that it is for so many others, I'll most probably be thinning out my herd and if a glass mouthpiece for the miVape doesn't appear by that time mine may be part of that culling.

If someone is choosing between the two I'd recommend the grasshopper
They don't serve the same purpose.

The miVape is more a session vape for sipper.
The GH is a "on-demand" vape better for quick big hits (I think I never tried it in fact....)

Speaking of Vaporfection, anyone had to deal with them recently?

I have a unit with a warranty issue (80% charge and video of continual rebooting) and first tried to call. Phone lines down, recorded message says use email. Emailed thrice. That's the one after Once and Twice.... no replies.

Bueller? Bueller?

Kidding, but anyone have a magic contact method?

I've tried talking with Dan through IG and got nothing. We have talked throughout the past and now nothing. Every now and then he'll like one of my pics. I have a feeling Vaporfection is no more. I hope not but who knows

The circumstantial signs all seem to be pointing in a bad direction but I'm not panicking yet. I have sent an email to Dan at an address he gave me a while back. (I'm not comfortable sharing it here without his permission; which I have asked him for). I've asked him for a status update on the glass mouthpiece and on Vaporfection as a whole. I'll post what I can when and if I hear anything.

Just so Dab HAppy!
Last time I heard from Dan was November when he checked in with me to see how I am doing with my viVApe. I responded with an email that required no response so I didn't get one. I sent him an email in January asking how he was but other than that it was another email that really required no response. Either way I have not heard from him since November so I am going to go out on a limb here, but try dan@vaporfection.com for direct email. I also have his personal cell number if anyone really needs to get a hold of him. Just PM me if you ever need it.

My last contact was in April of this year. Nothing since then.

Wrote to Dan on 6/22. Whereas he has always been very prompt in his responses in the past, I have yet to hear anything back. Trying hard not to give up on the miVape, but...

Not sure what this means for the miVape but Vaporfection just posted on Instagram that it's 50% off at vapor nation using the coupon code mivape

They've done that once before I think. It's easy to suppose that this time it's because the miVape is done and the company has done nothing to make us feel otherwise. Bummer.

Unfortunately, I have received no reply to three different support requests on a non-functioning miVape.

Likewise, I never received a response to an inquiry I made back in June. Shame, because Dan used to be the epitome of great customer service. Oh well, that's life on the bleeding edge.

It's a shame cause the miVape was a great convection vape even with its issues, I was hope about about a version 2 with better quality materials and accurate t°....but this will not happen.

Mine was dead also but my retailer replaced it (it is on the way).

µI received my replacement mivape (from my retailer), it came in Celsius mode....and didn't produced any vapor even at 200°C!

And I remenber my previous unit was not working after I switched accidentally from Farenheit mode to Celsius....so I set my replacement unit in Farenheit mode..and got great vapor at 335°F like I experienced with my previous unit!

Is it a known issue?

Is a smart guy here can work on an alternative mp... but maybe it is a very small market..

I do not want to disparage anyone or any vape, however, I recently asked someone from a well known vape store about the mivape.

In response I was told they had a 100% return rate.
