But none of those vapes you mention there are portables/cordless.
True. Don't know what else to say haha but very true. I'm not exactly sure of the lifetime warranty and what it covers so I won't comment but other portables that use glass have similar downsides. I mean anyone who has regularly used a solo or air has probably spent a good amount of money on stems. But good point man.

Milaana. Lana. LANA. LANAAAA! (TM2/TP80/BAK/FW9)
Hey folks!

Until the new prototype Square comes along (soon actually) I have been reaching for my Milaana for my battery operated on demand portable needs.

I do use the stock shorty stems on occasion. I cap the joint with an Arizer EQ basket and create a chamber for the herb. I dont like filling the basket and having the herb in the outside. I know some like to use it that way but I RARELY will.

I know @Vape Dr. has some beautiful stuff from @Alan and he has his own mods but I thought I would share the setups I use most often.

First a group shot:

5QKbguR.jpg

One of my favorite things about the Milaana is that works natively with a 18MM connection (just like my beloved Evo). Parts for these mods are from VXL, 7th Floor, Arizer, Triihouse (O rings), Delta 3D Studios [thx @ratchet] (Testing pressed screens for Milaana and they are working well, not as stiff as RBT screens but that can be an advantage in some setups) and the male/male adapters are off DH Gate and sold under the name Ander. I picked up five of those and I am glad I did. They have the short 22MM joint required to properly fit the Milaana. They are currently sold out and I am bummed. I like the short joint but also a very low profile so it keeps the height to a minimum. I would buy five more in a heartbeat if I could. I use the Delta 3D press screens here and an EQ cap to seal it. The seal is also nice cuz if you want a lower temp session you simple flip the adapter around to move the load away from the heater. High temp session? Put the herb into the female Milaana joint.

Here are the adapters:
Ongg6jV.jpg

All of the elev8 glass joints require an o ring. You cannot use the ground glass joint because it is too long. Actually you can drop it down in there but it won't lock into place. With the O ring about 3/4 down the joint you can not only create a seal but you can prevent the pieces from being loose and falling out.

The Green Elev8 wand is a custom piece for the DBV or SSV GG connection. This is the coolest vapor out of all the dry setups. It has a built in screen and I use an EQ basket to create a chamber in the joint.
odOV4v4.jpg

Just pull the o ring up and put shove it in the Milaana.
VQOwCrR.jpg

The Rasta Elev8 wand used to be a female SSV Wand but broke the female joint. The Rasta part stayed intact so I took it to my local glass guy, sacrificed a long RBT stem and had him put the RBT joint on the Rasta wand. No O ring on this since it has the shorty joint. It also has a built in screen because it used to be a wand. Sweet!

Jlr7IIc.jpg

The other green and red/yellow mouthpieces are for the SSV/LSV. If I recall correctly they are really designed for vape tamers which is how I discovered them. When using the Milaana out of the house I pretty much use these, an o ring and VXL elb exclusively. It requires no stir and is more forgiving than the Milaana stem because it keeps the load suspended a little further from the heater.
rSywPqa.jpg

Notice the Apollo is in there too. You can pretty much adapt all this to that vape which is nice. I have been enjoying that one at home quite a bit lately. Ironically I use a long RBT stem as a WPA for the Apollo!

Here is another setup I like to use. Elev8 glycerin ash catcher which gives you cooling of the vapor but without water. Its a neat experience.
loNeDUG.jpg

No stirring, even ABV, cool vapor and very tasty. All of these connections.

Let me know of any questions.

Awesome man, glad to hear the vapor tamer works well (yes I am still very interested in it per our last pm! Maybe when I can afford it I'll reach out again...) I'd like to get fancy stems too

Fuck Doc, I haven't even gotten mine yet and yours is no good.

What a joy that you have to completely baby this thing.

Is there anything other than glue that can provide some shock protection?

I'm not gonna break the glass just by setting it down on my desk am I? Is it okay if it falls over from standing up?

Jeez.

I wouldn't say baby, many of us here have had zero issue with any breakage despite use out and about etc. It has been mentioned that its better to lay Milaana lying on its side vs standing up since it is narrower and could be tipped over, though I do leave it that way occasionally myself too. You just need to gauge the risk of it tipping over, it is glass after all, but have found it quite durable without dropping it

It should spell that out in the instructions then. Been following this and the Zion thread for a long while, remember I only switched to getting the Mi because the Zion is on indefinite hold. I vaguely recall someone having a similar Zion break in the beta testing, but it's hardly something getting pointed out every other page. That's cool, though, clearly I'm just super dumb for breaking it within two days and the Mi isn't fragile in the least.

It absolutely was mentioned better to leave lying on its side, Zion is more stable upright with a wider base though. The Zion that broke fell with a stem inside, that's what causes a break more likely, the pressure of the stem hitting something to break the female glass bowl (Zion does have the stem storage slot ateast too). To be fair, you also said it was an aftermarket stem? Wider? So even more pressure when falling against the glass female bowl, not even stock set up might not have broken with a stock stem actually... Nothing to do with smart or stupid, we all use things differently, some are more accident prone than others, some less mindful or just absent minded on occasion, now you know it is a risk at least and can be more careful in the future and prepare for it. Sucks to be without, but it is what it is, live and learn, pro and con of glass

I just need to remove the stem and keep it on its side when I get it back. I just wasn't being sufficiently careful and paid the price. I usually do well with glass, I've used the same small beaker style bong for a decade, but the seeming sturdiness of the Mi had me being more carefree than I should have been.

Well I'll admit to being the DA beta member who had his Zion for less then 24hrs and then dropping said Zion on its stem which as previously stated still had it inserted in the female bowl. Not my best of times fo sho. Cracked/broke the f18mm bowl.
As others has said its always wise to lay the mi on her side. I don't always do this but I'm always more at ease when I do. As Rbt has said these vaporizers are not 100% perfect vaporizers. But in my experience they work better then anything else I've tried. No plastic body, not made in China, runs off 18650 battery's. It's got a lot of pluses in my eyes. Very few negatives.

I do have a new hand made vc wooden stem that's in process of being shipped. I'm going to put into my rotation. Then I'll have 2 vapes in my rotation and it can actually be a rotation.

I would prefer to replace a stem, or just swap in a backup, over having to send in the whole unit for glass replacement. Not sure how you'd work around it with this design, though. Thicker glass would help, of course, but I think this is just an inherent risk unfortunately. If it used something other than glue to secure the female glass then you could maybe have it user replaceable, but even then I think there'd be problems getting the heater assembled again correctly for most.

Don't get me wrong, I still am seeing more up than downsides so far. I was really liking the Mi until the accident. I do think this changed my mind a bit on using it out and about, though. Probably going to keep it at the house and use the Vapcap on the go.

I don't know if I could part with it now but you can hit me up. :)

 yeah I was afraid of that actually seeing how now you found some good use for it! Maybe some day I will have the privilege some way as well... Was originally thinking it'd be great for the Grasshopper actually. I'm still using my Lana dry with stock long and short stems though, occasional scratchy throat but with my useage tapered down its not an issue and so much simpler than dealing with a bunch of extra pieces... But I do want fancy glass! May get a proper j hook from OGB at least, to use with my enroute OmniVonG, and my GH too.

Glad you are enjoying the Milaana buddy

Are all these you link verified US joints?
I haven't been following closely enough to know what US joint is but most everything 7th floor sells is the long joints. I do have one or two piece (different mouthpieces) that have the short ones that fit natively in the Mi but they are rare. This is why I add the O Rings so I can keep them locked and slightly elevated over the heater. I will probably grind them all down at some point but for now this works!

Yeah, the US are definitely the harder joints to find. Here's a good image someone (can't remember who exactly or I would give direct credit) shared awhile back that provides a visual representation of the difference. All three are 18mm, but you can see the difference in length.

Yeah everything is ISO (can be modified with some work at least). I have like one or two pieces that are US. One is that Rasta but again that was a Mi long stem before and the OG wand had a female 18MM connection (which is great to stuff a reducer in and then an elb in that btw).

they say im crazy but i have a good time
... got my milaana yesterday from @PlanetVape (ordered monday!!!)
YES the hype is real! i was kind of skeptical because of the overwhelming hype on these pages...
This shits for real!

OMG that first hit is yummy! :mmmm:

I was hesitant at first to pull the trigger because of the removable battery's.
Unlike most people i have not been a fan of removable battery's.
...hated air compared to solo only because of the battery's....
THIS VAPE HAS BROKE ME OF THAT IN ONE NIGHT!
Yes having to manage battery's is still annoying and ultra lame IMO.... but this vape is so awesome that don't seem to matter

My advice, if your on fence, get off and ORDER ONE OF THESE!!!
You wont be disappointed.

This vape rocks!

Hehe so wish mine would have got here that fast. Been refreshing usps tracking all day to see if it's getting any closer. Hopefully by the weekend.

Enroute from @Alan. Have a feeling this thing is gonna rock! Plus a pair of Joda's midsize (halfway between long and short stem), one red & blue drip, one BLACK drip.

That looks awesome.

Hmmm... Familiar pic. :) I wonder if there is a way to make that a sticky somehow...

Does anyone know how much power the Mi actually pulls with a fresh battery? Just from the batteries being At 4.2v 20a would suggest over 80w but that sounds super high.

@just_the_flu

I don't know why you were against removable batteries but trust me, it's the only way to go. Nothing's worse than wanting another hit but you have to wait because your only vape is dead and needs to be charged for an hour before another session. It's much better to finish a battery and just instantly swap out for a fresh one! That way your cape is always ready to go!

Not sure if these have been stated already in this way:
Cut the cord, not the power
Cut the cord without cutting the power
Cut the cord not the clouds

Co-credit? lol

Was that yours cybr? I could not for the life of me remember. I can't tell you how much that pic has helped me -- I refer to it fairly often because I can never remember which is which. lol

lazylathe

Almost there...
I just cut down one side of my 18M2M joints!
Pretty quick and easy with a Dremel and a diamond cutting disc.
Some quick finishing with water paper and it is a perfect fit!
I then sanded it down some more till an EQ basket fit in the joint and in the Milaana snugly.
Now my Milaana is ready for any of my WT's!!
More practicing as I tend to push it more due to the lack of heat feedback.

This shits for real!

Indeed!

The fun part is that most of the Z-team more or less refrained from cheerleading for a few weeks now, or more... so all the praise one can read in the last 30+ pages is mostly from "real users" who bought the retail version and did no participate in the beta test, and thus should have absolutely no bias.

And even with all this genuine feedback, it appears some people still think we are not objective, like if it was some kind of Stockholm syndrome or something...

But yes RBT vapes are really awesome and outstanding!

Forgive me fellow Milaanists for I have strayed from the true path. Oh I'm back wiser and more knowledgeable about the superior goodness of our Lady of the Vapor. The land of Arizer called, and in a moment of VAS weakness I succumbed to the lure of digital control, remote control fan, and glass on glass. Oh I went first class with a full DDave kit as well and it all works superbly. I spent several days happily exploring until I made the mistake of doing a back to back with Milaana. My OG 18/14 will slide from Milaana to EQ and back again. Hell of an appliance the EQ, but Milaana allows the experienced user such superb control. The EQ will be great for guests but it's Milaana for me.

killick

But I like it!
I have an EQ that over used for years. It was my 2nd garage med machine when I first became a patient.

We moved a year ago and for the life of Elvis I can't find the PS for the silly thing. Everything else I have, including spare bags and a couple of mods, just missing that pesky PS...

Milaana has no such challenges. As a matter of fact if I can find a small compressor I could likely have Millie filling bags asap....

You have inspired me. Since I have so many Milaana bowls I figured I would test my theory out on my long stem from RBT. I measured an ELB and its rim is 1.5mm. So I used a grinding tool on my dremel and ground down my joint to 20.5mm long instead of 22. Then I flame polished it with a propane torch. This allows me to use either a double ELB from the Evo or a single top screen from an arizer EQ. I have tried both and they both work well and provide very different experiences from the stock RBT basket screen. Here are a few pics.

The EQ screen allows for micro dosing and very fast hits from a small amount. You can combust so you have to be careful but it may be the best way to micro dose in the Mi.
The other is the Evo screen. This would be great for your friend with the lead foot who combusts in the mi. It needs an 8 second heat up this way and you can hammer on the throttle the whole hit. But it still hit very hard this way and I don't think you would ever accidentally combust using this method. The downfall would be battery life as you are on the button twice as long per hit.

You have also inspired me to pull out and post some of the ways I use my Milaana. I go a slightly different route and just found a 19/22 adapter to 14m, 14f, 18m, and 18f plus a whip bowl in 19/22.. They were all under $5 each and found on EBay and DH Gate. With all of these adapters the possibilities are endless. I usually use one of the adapters to run it through a water piece. Most of the time it's a PWTA or a Hydratube. Or an FC-UFO or other bubbler at home. But the dry mouthpieces and J-hooks are endless too once you have those few adapters! I use my American made 18mm f mouthpiece, an M&M tech bubbler 14mm male mouthpiece (really cool) and a J-hook is great when topping with concentrates so the mi is upside down. Plus the whip bowl is pretty cool for under $3. Finding cool Milaana accessories is easy once you get a few adapters!
*Note The Grey and white kitty paw in the first pic does not work in the Milaana
