It won't cripple your battery letting it reach functioning zero once, and your method mentioned earlier was pretty scientific. Just a side note. When the solo is frozen (left in the car at work in Alaska) it will not power on. You will get a beep, blue light with no numbers a then nothing. Once warmed up it will indicate battery and work normally again with a lengthy heat up time ;)
