I've been doing this too but I've had a real problem with the tube constantly kinking if I'm not holding it at exactly the correct angle. Would a glass piece connecting the tube to the Ion straw help with this problem somehow?

A couple more questions. I accidentally spilled some powdery ABV into the basket holder and it looks like some got through the screen and onto the white teflon underneath. You're supposed to be able to unscrew the basket holder to replace the bottom screen, correct? I wanted to try to get in...

I haven't received it yet but I believe it's a standard SSV whip with just the tubing and mouthpiece, not including the wand attachment. You're supposed to fit the tube directly onto the Ion straw, or at least that's my understanding.

I see a little bit of that in one of my baskets, too. I can also see what look like tiny little rust spots around the bottom edge of both baskets. Probably not a big deal but I'd like an answer as well.
