I fit all the requirements but one. Haven't used an EVO (or the original models). Good luck with Oprah, hope you get the recognition you deserve.

I don't know. To me, this does not look like combustion. I was the queen of combustion when trying to use my ex's Silver Surfer. Not only could I taste that burnt taste, but when I dumped the used herb out it was still smoking as it lay there. The color of the ABV was pretty much dark black...

    Arizer Solo

Remember, the batter pack that's in the Solo has a circuit board inside the over-wrap that prevents over charging and rapid discharge. If you leave out that circuit board you could damage the Solo's circuitry or have a fire hazard on your hands.

It depends on a lot of factors ... temperature setting, the bud itself, how long you pull, etc. But for me, with what I'm currently using, I'll take 10-15 slow pulls, each one 5-6 seconds long. The first 5 or 6 pulls at setting 3 or 4 (depends on the bud), and the next at the next higher temp...

No, I'm another very satisfied Solo user. Been using it for nearly three months now. I've used the Iolite and my boyfriend's Silver Surfer, and my Solo is my favorite, and my daily-use vaporizer. No weird smells, no chipping (so far), no sounds that I can hear. I love it.

I can't say for sure, either... but, when I was researching replacement batteries, the descriptions claim that there's a circuit board wrapped up in the battery pack that's supposed to prevent over charging or excessive discharge rates. My guess, is that it should be safe. Even so, I never...

Sooo... I'm guessing that the 3% defect rate that Arizer Steve quoted is inaccurate. Very disappointing. I've only had my Solo for two weeks. So far I love it... but I can't keep my self from expecting mine to flake too.

Same here. Though the bottom of my Solo's bowl is charcoal grey (the walls being black), and looks like it is a separate disk that was pressed into the bottom. Hmmm... I wonder if mine is one of the v1.1 Solo's?

If its an insert... I wonder if the tight-fitting glass bats that some people have will fit?

I can't say what happened with the Arizer Solo, and I don't want to make excuses for them... however... in other industries, the Grey Market is often fed by rejected units, that were supposed to have been destroyed, being "liberated" by either employees of the company or intrepid...

A very good and very reassuring answer from Arizer (thanks Wileh). Some cookware manufacturers use ceramic coatings as a replacement for teflon (for supposed health reasons... or marketing). They also mention how precise they have to be in their manufacturing process to get the ceramic to stick...
