in my own experience, one pass through a coffee filter and nothing fine ever gets through but i do also notice if i sieve beforehand, it will filter faster and more productively (less gets stuck in the coffee filter).

i've been using the zap for more than a year, and it is only now that doing the same thing is yielding drastically different results
