VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

I notice there are a pair of little "bumps" on the shiny silver part of the induction heater board. Can the coil be soldered to any part of this flat region, or does it need to be soldered to the little blobs?

Nice. I used a momentary switch but I find it a little frustrating to hold down for so long so I might well SWITCH over to using a toggle switch instead. P.S. See my post above. You might want to solder the coil instead of plugging it into those blue plugs.

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

So I just received my replacement induction heater for the one I burned. It wasn't packed very securely and the pair of coils are bent: How robust are they? Is this a big problem and I should send it back for a replacement? Or I should just bend them back into place and continue with my...

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

I see, thanks. I have confidence that my next attempt will go smoother with your advice in mind. Thank you for that, and for trailblazing this whole field. In the few uses I had of vapcap induction heating I knew this was the way forward. You are a gentleman!

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

I made one of these and destroyed it within a day!! :( I made another thread about it http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/i-built-a-vapcap-induction-heater-but-broke-it-within-a-day.43755/#post-1412829 but I thought I would ask my questions here too... I had several happy uses, and on the last...

I built a Vapcap Induction Heater :) But broke it within a day :(

I also got my ideas from that thread but I didn't see that post. Mine is connected to the wall with a 12V power supply, not batteries. I didn't realise that was too much for the driver, as I bought items recommended from that thread. Unfortunately I re-ordered the same unit before seeing the...

I built a Vapcap Induction Heater :) But broke it within a day :(

Was working quite nicely, enjoyed several bowls of vapcap. These are the components, now dismantled for debugging purposes: Then on my last attempt to use it I noticed the LEDs were flickering and making a clicky high pitched noise. Then I saw smoke rising from the pair of coils and that...

What's your favorite torch or lighter to use with the Vapcap?

I can vouch for these. I bought 3 like a year ago. 2 died after many months of faithful service and 1 still works like a charm. Very cheap so I'm not bothered about replacing them, I feel like they had a good innings.

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

Interesting... so the glass tub is actually an e-cig glass tank. And it's a tube, not a cup shape... I think I've only seen battery powered designs so far. Does anyone know of a way of making it plug into the wall? Is there some kind of power supply you can get that will supply the right...

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

I've been trying to go through this thread to find the info I need but I'm stuck on something. I've ordered the induction heater unit evreybody uses. I notice that the coil is covered with some enamel coating. Does this mean that the vapcap can touch the coil and the user doesn't get a shock...

    Dynavap VapCap

Holy shit. Since learning to use this properly I haven't used my Cloud Evo once (which was my daily driver at home). I'm amazed how you can keep reheating it many times and it never combusts, as long as you listen out for the clicks. I find it quite conservative in terms of not roasting the...

Yep I figured out how to use this contraption. You guys weren't lying! :ko: By the way, this was the most useful advice to me:

    Dynavap VapCap

Having read the guidelines people have provided here, I'm sure I've just been using it wrong. I only tried it over a gas stove because I couldn't find a torch lighter. I'm gonna give it another go. But this thread made me go back and use my Vaponic for the first time in years. GOD DAMN! I...

    Dynavap VapCap

I'm kind of disappointed with my Vapcap M. It's just been small, underwhelming hits. Maybe I just haven't learned how to use it to its fullest. I got it because I wanted something for fast hits. I love my Cloud Evo but it can make a bowl last about 45 minutes. Just putting it out there - I...
