All vape, no smoke please.
I'll try to help you justify another un-needed purchase, Steven. Buy that hydratube, and

this stand that another vendor here is making for hydratubes

Then you can stand the two of them together, side by side for safe storage when not attached to your donuts. ;)

PYhoPnq.jpg

I've been trying to branch out and find other good threads around here that are relevant and helpful to ceramic donut vape interests. Lots of gems out there to pick.

Hey OF, I also found a thread over here dedicated solely to vaporizer whips/tubes! How come nobody told me sooner? :bang:

I posted there too and gonna see what peoples says. :)

I suspect the high loop on the right connecting the two chambers is to 'get above water line' in the upper one so it doesn't all drain into the bottom and flood your atty?

Duh... I shouldve thought about it a little more. I'm sure u are correct OF. I was caught in the aesthetics of it. I mean it's a good looking piece. Just would've looked nicer with a smaller loop but obviously that's not possible.

I'll try to help you justify another un-needed purchase, Steven. Buy that hydratube, and
I wish I could. Unfortunately my work car's transmission just went out so I can't justify an uneeded hydratube. Maybe someone will get it and tell me how much I'm missing out. Thanx for the heads up in the stands but I actually have seen those before and I only need one stand for the hydratube staying at home. I already have a spot for the other one for my car

i'm loving the function on my TC100w but this thing is too heavy for me to carry around.
what smaller mod is available that lets me limit watts in temp control mode?

Best two options are probably the Pico and VTC Mini, center and right respectively:
Me7SB43.jpg

The Pico is a bit lighter (5 ounces against 6 and 1/8th) and is more 'TC 100W like' in function/display. The VTC has a bit more information on the display and functions (like hit counter), otherwise about a push.

You can, of course, make the TC 100W about as heavy (8 ounces actually) by taking one of the 18650s out. Taking both out brings you to about what the Mini is ready to go, the Pico is lighter by 'another 18650' worth.

It's not surprising that the older eVic would drop out of TempControl mode with the 2.X donuts. I just cleaned (heated) mine and its base resistance went from 0.85 to 0.98 ohms. Before version 3.X the cutoff was 1.0 ohms (now it's 1.5), so with an older donut ya didn't have a chance of staying in TC mode. Thank you JoyeTech!

But what really surprises me is that if I want the TC to be in the ballpark, i.e. I dial up 320 deg F and I get close to 320 deg F as measured on the donut, I have to pull the TCR even lower. FWIW my 3 "M" Memories are now 160, 185 and 220, and I'm mostly using M1 (160).

@StickyShisha Keep looking on Gearbest and something will pop up. In reality we don't need huge capacity or wattage, so a smaller battery would work fine. The nicotine crowd demands large capacity. If somebody has a 20 watt fully TC capable unit (i.e. with settable wattage and TCR while in TC), with a small battery, raise your hand!

Gearbest.com takes PayPal and they have US and Euro shipping points.

So i caved and bought a evic VTC mini. This thing is awesome! Except, I can't get it to update. The program never finds my mini... tried a different PC too, as well as using the USB cord that came with it, different ports, admin privileges, putting files in root directory, ect... I'm about to give up for now... gonna try safe mode next. Any tips?

I'm using it with the DC right now, first time using either. Pretty impressed! I can't wait to try out the donut on this mini, but want the M value settings option! Pressing the fire button 15-20+ times doesnt even display the version ? any help much appreciated...

Sure you didn't get a fake?

Yea, so after hours of trying to get this to update, I checked the ebay page I bought it from... (http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Evic-VT...ech-75W-Temp-Control-TC-B-EVS2-/112009411771?) ... and its a 1:1 Clone  WTF this is 1:1 too. even has a scratch off on the bottom for authenticity!!

Where can you guys recommend I get one of these at? Sorry for hjacking the thread...
I got fed up trying to find one for a decent price through an online vendor that I recognized (they were all sold out of VTC mini's...) so thats why I went with ebay. Forgot how prevalent clones/fakes are

I contacted seller/requested a return... thats straight BS, even though the description states it, barely; its a trap!

Sorry but maybe I missed something....How to update and why to do it?
So you can set additional settings, in order to get, hopefully better, temperature control (TC).

ETA:
Is the "Joyetech eVic VTwo Mini" just the VTC updated?? Gonna order from here (https://www.eciggity.com/joyetech-evic-vtwo-mini-body-only/) if noone objects? Thanks

I think it's time for a "mini mod" roundup here, since that seems to be a thing many of us here are interested in. I'm always looking up and and re-looking the same data on mods that I already own or am looking at with interest. I finally collected it all to save in a text file, and I even went further and multiplied the 3 dimensions to get.... cubic millimeters! :o oo0o0o0o :D I should have gone and got the weights while I was at it, but many shops don't display that... someone else go fetch that for us now :brow:

Evic VTC
22 x 38 x 82 = 68,552 mm3

Still one of the best overall IMO

Cuboid Mini
22.5 x 35.5 x 76mm = 60,705 mm3

This is my favorite new little mod. Works exactly as well as evic/cuboid, sacrificing only removable cells for 8cm3. I'll take it

Pico
45mm x 23mm x 70.5mm = 72,967.5 mm3

Not so tiny when you multiply them now huh? Its shortness may blind you to its relative stoutness. Still a good choice tho

Tesla Nano
25mm x 52 x 70 = 91,000 mm3

I haven't used this one myself, but seems like a thick, hefty, stout (heavy) one.

istick 40w
21 x 35 x 82mm = 60,270 mm3

It works, not my choice, still pretty small

Vaporesso Target Mini 40w
24.2 x 36.5 x 58.1 mm = 51,319.73 mm3

Brand new one coming out on pre-order. Only 2nd mod from this company, i think, I never used. Someone else is gonna have to go buy this and test it for us, cuz I'm not. I've taken enough for the team so far i think.

Artery Nugget
22 x 31mm x 55.5mm = 37,851 mm3

Clearly the tiniest, but I was not fully satisfied with the vape quality and temp control, original firmware still not updated, no TCR. Mine are set to the side, idle now, looking to get rid of em. :\

Istick 100TC
23 x 52mm x 94mm = 112,424 mm3

Big boi. :cool:I passed on this one just based on it's size, I'm sure it works well, but not my style really.

Cuboid 200w
28 x 42mm x 91.5 mm = 107,604 mm3

Littler for a 2-cell big boi. Vapes excellent but it is heavy.

RX200
50 mm x 40 mm x 84 mm = 168,000 mm3

Also, haven't used, but just threw for comparo's sake.

Let me come back to the Vaporesso target mod too...it does all the standard modes we expect these days + TCR, 1400mah internal cell, yada yada, but I don't know what chipset it uses or how well it works with the donuts? Although I am using their ceramic cCell coils in my tanks with co2 oil and I love it, so they got that goin for them.

LQASmDU.jpg

So... please...someone go try this out for us? OF?

And BTW, this company also released a mid-sized TC mod last year which I thought was the ugliest box mod I've ever seen...if you can call it a box

NKVLiij.jpg

I think you're under-rating the cuboid mini, OF, an unfair penalty for a non-removeable cell? Or maybe you just don't like the shape and feel in the hand as much? Cube mini is much more of a tall slender rectangle, while the pico feels more of a short heavy flask. I prefer the taller rectangle and I've had a little difficulty with the pico's fire button, but after I wrapped em all in silicon, I think the feel and texture improved a bit. But I do have to give you credit for bringing the mini cube to my attention a couple weeks before my newsletter spams.

Guess we just have to agree to disagree on this one? :) ;)

Let the "best of the mini-TC mod" wars continue!:argh: :goon:

To enter TCR...that is... turn off 5x button press, then press and hold right button + fire button for a few seconds... 5 seconds? Then you can enter the TCR figures.... unlesss.....:suspicious:

Damn that sucks! The clone part is not prominently displayed, I did not notice it upon a cursory glance also. You're stuck with v2.0 firmware, apparently, which does not have TCR mode :(

That's why I avoid ebay in entirety, I've always hated that place. Sometimes you're forced to use it, but I avoid it whenever you're not forced to. I've been buying alot of mods at vapor tek usa, competitive prices, good service and shipping, usually discounts as well. 90% of my current info on new mods comes from looking at their newsletter e-mail spams :D Not spam if it's wanted right?

I've also been well-served by 101vape, vapeshop.com, others here like gearbest, and I've also bought mods and vape related gear from various sellers on amazon, never had a problem there

And I have seen many evic VTC clones...or maybe copies is a better term. Cheap mods from ?questionable? companies that may or may not use the same chip as the evic; idk, but the aesthetic inspiration is clear.

4Q68slZ.jpg

nano one by smok? More like copycapt #1  I'm pretty sure this was released after the VTC

B709yK0.jpg

topbox 75 by kangertech? I think I read in this thread a couple posts about people not being thoroughly impressed with kanger's performance with our beloved donuts. I think this company is better for tanks/coils

OOvyXea.png

Aspire odyssey mini? Ok this one may be a bit of a stretch, IDK about the mods; I'm skeptical, but I have heard good things about their tanks + coils.

Sorry but maybe I missed something....How to update and why to do it?

Here... I'm gonna poach this from heywood's post several pages back.

This is 3.03. If this is "TMI" for you...the main things added to the VTC by firmware has been....
  • 60 to 75w
  • Adding of TCR (and ss) modes
  • Re-configuring the display in different ways to display more information more easily
  • Adding of dynamic display data (while you hold the button down) such as ohms and amperage, not just fixed measurements at rest

New-Firmware-3.03.png

There has been some other little things in the updates, if you wanna pick at it in the chart, but not much else of value to us.

And of course, don't forget about the flappy burdz game :lmao::rolleyes:

4etAYr1.gif

Thanks again for that post haywood... :wave:I gotta get better at that forum feature for pointing out a user when mentioning them so they can be alerted!

Ooops, for all the quality, my eVic (real enough to take all updates so far) cracked. I have been charging it with a USB cable so I hardly ever opened the mag battery door, and yet the platic border on the recess for the top magnet cracked, and the magnet itself came out married to the one on the cover. No parts lost. Super glue or gorrilla or something ... tomorrow.

noooooooooo..... :ugh::cry:

Even steph curry misses a few 3 pointers

Fwiw the first (white) evic vtc I bought has a slightly un-even, uncentered 510 connector pin, which pushes the atty on the threads a little harshly. But it works fine and I never remove the base anyways

Yea so I haven't seen this discussed: http://www.joyetech.com/product/evic-vtwo-mini/
So many new colors! I picked up the gold, since thats what eciggity had in stock. Also, I grabbed that newest aspire tank, some fresh batts, and a nice two port xtar charger... :) (love xtar, and i think this will be a great car charger/backup) should be all set now... hopefully this newest version VTC mini is legit (Vtwo mini).

# comes with clear, white silicone sleeve! sweet

I cant wait to mess with TCR on the Donut / try to on the DC.

I wonder if some of the new Joyetech eGo sized TC units like the eGo One VT could be fooled into working OK with the donuts. The very simple ones have 3 settings: TC for Ni and Ni, and VW. And 3 temp settings, all 3 of which look high to me, but maybe some combination of settings might work? They are cylindrical, about the height of an eVic VTC mini, and only 19 mm around. That would be nice if it worked.

I tried searching...but I'm getting my new set of bases today and I now have a different mod...what are the best settings for the dognut with a cuboid or evic mini...I have the cuboid, but essentially the same?

Even a link to the info would be awesome!

I'm using "245" in Pico, Cuboid, VTC Mini and the rest of these guys using the 'Joytech chip set'. I set the temperature at 390F and the power at 12.0 Watts. Older doughnuts get raised to 12.5 Watts if/when they start having troubles making it to temperature ('protection') as they get old and tired. That last part is important, the Cuboid can make the sun come up in your DT atty I bet.......

I'm sure it could...and I'm not sure why this particular mental imagery was particularly amusing this morning...but thanks for the laugh!

I got the cuboid off a friend for a GREAT deal...it works alot better than my old set up for all my coils...

The Sigelei had temp mode but made everything run too hot...I was unaware of this until @Pipes pointed it out...the joy tech chip set is far superior.

Sorry for the double post...but @OF: with the joy tec what turns mode do you use...and if custom, what values?

You've got me confused here. Didn't I just say "I'm using "245" in Pico, Cuboid, VTC Mini and the rest of these guys using the 'Joytech chip set'."? I thought that answered it, in fact still do????

I don't follow what you mean by "what turns mode do you use" (emphasis mine, I don't understand 'turns mode'). If you mean 'operating mode' I use the custom TC mode (as opposed to say VW or passthrough) using '245' as the custom value (rather than the defaults for NC, SS and so on).

If I'm still not clear enough, please ask the question again in different words?

OK Guys. I am about to buy a few more of these Divine Tribe Attys for my family and I need to buy batteries for them too. They only have VV batteries for regular ohm coils in their current pens (Dr Dabbers) I use an aspire 30w VW and it works fine. But I was wondering which is the best for the money? I am open to clones or buying the 18650's separately if needed. What do you guys suggest? I have read about the Joytech VTC mini, and the Eleaf iStick Pico 75W TC. What is the best bang for your buck right now? Should I just get them a couple of eleaf 30w VW's and be done with it?

You can get the evic VTC mini for dirt cheap on Fasttech. Just make sure to select the 75W version with the "authentic" word in the product name. Don't get a clone, and don't try to cut corners with Li-Ion batteries and Li-Ion operated gear.

For your cells you can use the same as for your Milaana. Samsung 25R or 30Q, LG HE2, HE4 or HG2, Sony VTC4 or VTC5/VTC5A.

i know that there are battery units that people like for some of the functions and programming, i have one myself, but i keep getting the Eleaf iStick TC40W with the Divine Tribe Atty, from DivineTribe, for each family member who wants a setup.

set it up for them, make it very user friendly.

the deal is good enough, ships super fast, nice guy in our emails
