I'm not sure what the wood is unfortunately  but it does look completely different in daylight:

Hi Vapcapers,

I am thinking of pulling the trigger on one of these and had a few questions:

-On the Dynvap site for the Ti Woody they have the option for "double crown" for an extra $5. Does that mean it has a stainless band on the mouth end of the wood as well as on the bowl side? (like in the pic Carl Hempel posted above with the blackwood)

-If I purchase the Ti Woody, can I also swap out the wood and use the "double barrel ti glassy stem" on it too? (linked to below)

http://www.dynavap.com/product/double-barrel-ti-glassy-stem/

-Will a regular single flame torch lighter work good with the Ti Woody?

-And lastly, what is the order backlog looking like these days? How long is the typical time from order until it ships?

Thanks for bearing with me! :)

can anyone tell me how to install the extended mouthpiece?

do i just remove the finned cap, push out the metal stem, and insert the extended stem and mouthpiece and put the finned cap back on?

has anyone found good storage for the vapcap and extended moutHpiece? I notice its too tall for the doob tube.

There are two sizes of doob tubes, did you use the larger one? I can measure my large tube for you if you don't have one..

I got 2 tubes, both the size of the vapcap without the mouthpiece, is there another version I can buy thats longer?

Whew. OK, I'll take a stab at this.

1. Yes, it would have a band on both ends. George does offer different thicknesses if specified.
2. Yes, you can swap out the wood for a VonG, glassy, another wood type, and maybe other things too. I'm waiting for someone like Joda to start making funky glass stems for it.
3. Some folks prefer single, I like my triple. When you find one you like, it becomes a close friend.
4. Probably depends on what you want. Some things (like the VonG body I'm waiting on) are in high demand. But it's so worth it.

Come on dude. Just hand over your cash, you know you got to have one.

OK, I have only tried my OG glass Vapcap twice now and twice I haven't gotten a hit? I got the hang of the vapman pretty quickly but this thing eludes me. I heat it for about 2 seconds after I hear the click and it seems with hard or soft draw I get nothing? At the end, the weed look spent, burnt even. But no clouds? What am I doing wrong, Do I need to lessen my draw even more, like barely pull through it at all?
Try covering the carb during the hit to see if that helps.:2c:

After getting to grips with my Ti Burly I can state that it is a significant improvement over the OG :2c:.

First things first I will list the only two negatives I have found & they are personal preference rather than functional issues. The mouthpiece feels like it will degrade over time from moisture & my preference is to have no carb hole. A simple enough solution will be to purchase a Ti with African blackwood body, no carb & mouthpiece eventually.

A small puck of organic hemp stops any debris getting into the condenser & the Ti extraction chamber provides even uniform roasting of the cannabis. It also works very well with concentrates. A perfect all rounder suitable for any occasion :peace:. As for torches a twin torch is probably the best blend of speed & power as I find my single too slow & triples are almost overkill YMMV of course.

Question, If you completely cover the hit hole should it be completely air tight now? As in you cannot draw through it at all? It seems like it would work better if there was just a tiny bit of flow from around the metal tip through the glass tip/weed? As it is now 100% of the air has to be pulled through the hit hole, if you cover it you cannot draw through it. Is this how it's supposed to be?

I got nice (but slightly harsh) hits fully covering the carb. I have settled on a compromise airflow-wise with this zig zag mod:

But yeah, I could get full rips with the carb covered, no problem. Lots of restriction, of course but it worked nonetheless.

You send me your burly body and I'll send you my blackwood body :p.

But really, how slow is the single torch actually? It's still only a few seconds to heat right? I already have a single gooseneck scorch torch and really don't want to buy a different one.

So where does the air come in? It seems like it would form an air tight seal on the cap for everyone. Is there 1 point on the metal cap where there is a gap on yours or is it even flow all the way around? I am having trouble getting any air whatsoever when the hole is completely covered. does the cap need to be slightly bent in order to let a little air through?

I have been able to get small clouds on the third try but I want to make sure mine is functioning correctly.
Thanks!

So I got my Blackwood Ti Woody on Friday, and spent the weekend testing it out. This thing totally rocks! I love the look of the double crown with the mouthpiece. So classy! The airflow is a little different with the XL condenser and mouthpiece vs without, but it works great either way. Personally I like the little bit of restriction that the XL condenser adds.

And the Blackwood is absolutely gorgeous! It looks even better than I thought it would! There's so much intricate grain detail that you can only see in person, pictures do it no justice! I tried to capture the grain in this close-up:

Here's a different angle with, I think, slightly better lighting:

So beautiful!

Using this thing is a joy. So far, I like using a single torch the most. I find it seems to heat more evenly and thoroughly with it, my guess is because it takes longer to bring it up to temperature, thus allowing more time for the heat to soak into the load. I also have a double torch that I use occasionally. The double torch reaches the click faster and seems to give more lower temp vapor, especially on the first heating cycle. I always get several heating cycles from a load, and a couple of hits per cycle usually. I use about an inch long flame and point the tip of the brighter inner part of the flame right at the middle of the cap. The extra length and ability to spin the mouthpiece with the XL kit makes it easier to spin the cap while heating.

The VapCap works great with my D020-D. The fat mouthpiece seals perfectly to the 14/18 adapter that I posted several pages back, which goes into the top of my bubbler. Using it this way, I usually heat for an extra second or two past the click, especially on the first heating cycle -- the extra heat makes for denser vapor. :science:

Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with my VapCap. It works good, looks great, and is fun to use. I haven't used either of my other vapes since getting it. Oh, and George's customer service is absolutely top notch! I had stupidly added to my order after it was already processed, and George went and found my package in the outgoing mail pile and sorted everything out before it got mailed out the next day. All of my interactions with him have been nothing but pleasant. I couldn't ask for more!

I'm sure I'm forgetting some detail or another that I wanted to share with you all, but I can't think of anything else right now.

Happy VapCapping, everyone! :spliff:

That is fairly similar to how I have my OG with a silicone ring. I found it works best for me at 90% restriction with just a little airflow but the silicone is adjustable from 0-100% restriction. I find that restriction to be a particularly enjoyable part of the VC but that may be to do with the fact I was a cigarette smoker for 25 years.

Nah I can't betray what I love. When I get another Ti it will be for side action so I can do the naughty things I would not ask Burly to do.

The single torch is around 20-25 seconds to get up to temp but the trip torch is only 10 seconds. I like the width of the trip torch though as you only need to spin the cap rather than spin & move the flame up & down.

So where does the air come in? It seems like it would form an air tight seal on the cap for everyone. Is there 1 point on the metal cap where there is a gap on yours or is it even flow all the way around? Thanks!

You do get some air flowing under the cap & the Ti is where this is more apparent as it has three channels that allow air to be drawn into the top of the load preheating the air so you get a conduction/convection hybrid of sorts. Due to this extra airflow I have no use for a carb now but each to their own & experimentation is key to getting maximum satisfaction out of any vape.

Fuckin hell @Derrrpp that is exactly what my bit on the side is going to look like :o . Beautiful stuff but I think you will find your way with the dual flame torch in time.

Fuck yeah that's classy! Wow, so glad I got a blackwood, could you possibly take a picture of the mouth end without the mouthpiece on? I'm interested to see what the double crown looks like bare, as I'm trying to decide if I should send George an email to change my order to have one.

EDIT

Nevermind, I see in the close ups there's no mouthpiece, don't know how I missed that.

EDIT

On second thought, even though I like the look of the double crown, I think if I wanted to hold the VapCap in my teeth and puff hands free, the metal wouldn't feel nice on my teeth. I'm just gonna keep my order simple and hopefully it'll get here sooner!

Changed my order to a Burl VonG body :) just needed to have some Burl after seeing beautiful pictures of the Ti burlys. Looks like my Woody should be coming soon. Blackwood short with mallee Burl mouthpiece, exactly the vape I wanted when I first saw the VapCap. Couldn't be happier. its gonna be so fun to finally have a VapCap in my life again. My ex girlfriend leaves all type of shit here.. Fit bit, lap top, like all types of shit she uses every day but no fucking VapCap, lol I will have an OG again and a Woody to play with very soon ;) can't wait to get those Decievingly huge VapCap water pipe hits I love.
Cheers everyone,
Stay vaped!

This thread is like porn... @Derrrpp that Blackwood beauty you've got is bloody gorgeous, and without the mouthpiece it looks amazing too!!

I'm kinda regretting not asking for a double crown, but alas I'm pretty sure my orders are on the way to me.

Can't wait to see some photos of the amboyna pieces once they arrive in customers hands.... I already know I'm gunna end up caving and getting some burl eventually!

I love this thread, such good vibes in here!

Peace

Ask & ye shall receive. This vape system is something very special & has been a game changer for me. I am also grateful that @Ed's TnT has collaborated so closely with @VapCap to produce items so simple in principal & purpose yet display a classic elegance that is timeless.

There is no fucking around with this vape & the OG removes so many of the financial barriers people offer as to why they can't start vaping. I am finding in addition to the extra cycles I am getting I also get an extra draw per heat cycle due to the Ti retaining heat better.

More pictures... These ones turned out pretty good I think, for a crappy cell phone camera.

How are the crowns attached? Do they used glue? And does that crowned tip as mouthpiece get hot?

So glad to see the Vapcap being such a success!!! And kudos to George @VapCap for working so hard and giving so many choices throughout the product line!

I had been having a blast with my OG until I did the mistake to tap it on a marble ashtray to empty it... A crack formed from the tip of the bowl to below the screen and while I used it for some time like this, it eventually fall apart.

Now I have another OG but the airflow under the cap is too tight for me to enjoy. Mixing parts gets me nowhere. I will try and eat some more glass with sandpaper but I am afraid it will become too thin and fragile.

So I was thinking it's time for a Ti Woody but have a few questions....

1) Can the condenser be pushed until there is no airflow from the carb or do I need to cover the carb again?
2) Do most of you feel there is enough airflow with a Ti tip and closed carb so I can do comfortable mouthpulls? It should be tight enough to make a normal draw really hard but airy enough so I can mouthpull....
3) Can a Dremel make extra channels on the Ti tip if necessary or is it too hard?

PS: I still favour Vapcap over the Milaana although Laana is a beast of a vape! :p
