Letters written... calls made.... messages left on Skype.
His skype address still is active, but of course he has never logged on again.
Investigation through the company he was with led to no answers except he is not there, and the new "concierge" of the place never heard of him.
God Bless you Cookie... whatever your current circumstance~

Same here. Nothing but radio silence for me, too. I don't know what happened to make him disappear like he did, but I hope it became a positive thing for him in the end. I miss him.

IMO, he just hit the red and then the road.

I say this because he started to answer far apart, both here and email and it is just an opinion based on what i gathered from the way things unfolded.

Nothing against Cookie, since he always treated me more than well, as a person and as a product maker.

But i truly think he is still outhere, enjoying his wychwoods and the new vapes that wandered into FC.

Hi, everyone,

Just a quick note to let you know that I have a Wychwood to give away. Made with Sapele wood, it still looks good; unfortunately, its core is broken and will need to be fixed. If you're feeling up to the task, unlike me, send a message and it'll be yours.

A peaceful day to you. ✌

Well, lady. Your offer was accepted and I am really happy to mention that the to-be-repaired WW just arrived his new home in Banana Land. I am really stoked and thankful, happy to be able to take part on this so awesome and friendly community.

Also, I'd like to show everyone, how lovely one can be to pack a beautiful message along

Thank you very much, over and over again!!

I'll do my best to have this WW up and running, and would start by asking guys over here about how to remove the heater from the wood body. And, how to remove (if needed) the leather bottom from the wood body, as it seems absolutely glued...

Cheers!

I would start with contacting the lovely folks at underdogvapes.com. I know that he has experience with different logs.

as it seems absolutely glued...
I is absolutely glued... BUT...
after the first round, Cookie used water soluble glues.....
First was Elmer's Glue (like school kids use)
After the first few he began to use Elmer's wood glue.

Just get to an edge, and peel a little.... use a razor blade to start the peel if you must, and then evenly rip it off (go slow and in one direction... clockwise or counter clockwise, as one would peel the paper off he top of a cylindrical box of oatmeal).
Some of his vapes may leave a fuzz of suede like material behind....
Not to worry ... this just makes it simpler to glue the leather back on.
I would re-glue with Elmer's Glue All.
Once inside the works and what you will need to do should be more clear to you.

Howdy?!

You are very welcome. Glad to know you finally received it; best of luck with the repair.

Thanks! I will do my best to have it running.

I'm always happy to see any activity in this thread as it was my first log. It was gifted to my father a while back and finally won him over to vaporizing after many years of combustion. I go visit my Wychwood , ummm er, I mean my father whenever I can.:brow:

Cookie is the guy that helped me a lot when I was to start vaping and choosing among vaporizers and gear. We even had some skype calls and I still hope for the best with him. The other WW I have is a kind of sentimental piece....

I could not preserve the leather bottom, but ripped it of, anyway. So, I still cannot remove the bottom, as the inner wood ring seems glued as well.

Should I use some warm air or water? Or a knife to try to remove the bottom wood cover?

Also, the upper heater cover fell off meanwhile I was sanding the rest of the glued leather in the bottom. It still can be attached, bt will fall off if the vape is shaken.

It looks like the resistance is yet not accessible to be removed and/or changed

So, here I am step bu step like a curious doctor trying to figure out how to get to the inside of the patience... How to remove this power supply connector port, for example? Some plyer would do it, or is there a specific tool?

I think @RastaVapa has one, I would imagine he's had it to bits.

I would start with contacting the lovely folks at underdogvapes.com. I know that he has experience with different logs.

@underdog @RastaVapa any hit or ideas would be really helpful.

Thanks everyone!!!

I have repaired my own wychwood using a kit i got from cookie . you have to pull out wood piece from the bottom by putting a screw into it and pulling it out but it might break so in repair kit was another wood piece , i broke mine pulling it out but could have glued it back in if i had to . the wood is like 20mm plywood circle.

Thank you very much guys for support, help and ideas! I could finally reach inside the patient, had to rip off the wooden cover using a screw, as Vito suggested.

It must have been some short-circuit wire going on inside, because I just re-arranged the ceramic isolation rings (like small glass stones) in the bottom part of the vape, near the plug, and It came back to life.
I am stoked!!! I did let it warm up for like 1/2 an hour and vaped a stem, in the name of science ;)

So, now I have a "repaired" WW, that heats, but needs its bottom redone. Any hints on the wood piece I need to create, and how to replace it? Simple Wood glue would do it?

Cheers!!

Card board (corrugated) works best for the center piece... then you have a smooth flat surface to work with,
Glue a cardboard circle into the center (The unit at the bottom.. in the hole, has an edge/ledge you can glue it ONTO).... use Elmer's glue.
After that is done you will have an entire flat round surface at the bottom.
Glue (again using Elmer's).. a piece if thin suede, or leather.
If you want you can use a piece of round green felt, instead of leather.
The green felt can be purchased with adhesive on one side (just peel off the paper).
I think you are set to go!

Hello
My beloved wichwood took his last breath last night after many years of good and loyal service.

After having browsed this forum, I knew how to open the beast but I did not know how to access the resistance.
Can you help me with the procedure. @banana_republic and @delta 9 and @Vitolo ??
Do I still have to break the wooden bottom or do I have to pull the stainless steel tubes up?

Big Thanks in advance !
