Much like @lwien I also went to concerts every weekend; usually both Friday and Saturday nights. I had the pleasure of seeing and partying with Janice and a few of the other big bands that came through the Detroit area back then. I've posted about it elsewhere on the forum so I wont repeat.

I could blow this thread up, lol.... but I will just post a couple of glaring omissions...

What's funny about that statement is that we could all probably post up literally hundreds of glaring omissions, eh? Soooooooo much good music back then, much of it never hitting the radio from bands that never became a commercial success such as Camel and Caravan and 13th Floor Elevators, and artists such as Sandy Denny, etc.

So true , regarding local musicians making it big regionally .
But not so much on the World wide stage .
Here's one that may have made their way south of the border .
1st vid shows their creative side ,
2nd vid shows they needed $ to survive , a bit more poppy
and gimmicky ? ( the Mummy look )

I'm in my mid 2 .....40's :ugh: but love these songs. I'm not sure how I came to know them but I'm happy I did.
I think these guys were some of the best singer song writers of that era. They could sing a story.

I remember hearing "Where To Now St. Peter" on the radio when it was released. It was the beginning of a longtime love affair with Eltons music and Bernies lyrics. These guys were the backup guys on much of that album.
