@Vital[/USER] Weren't you just telling me about the shorter herb holder? You know where to get them?

http://www.aromed.com/en/shop.html Scroll about half way down the page and you will see the "recreational herbholder" Frank Fuchs is the owner of the company, and I am sure he will sell you one. If you ask I'm sure Frank will tell you if they are available elsewhere. Frank is a great guy; it's a pleasure to do business with him.

I think I figured out something huge yesterday.

I decided yesterday that I want to try a considerably bigger load than the 0.06-0.07 g load in my video a couple posts back, which would almost guarantee combustion. It then occurred to me that I am allowed to turn down the Aromed's temperature if I want. Since I rarely combust even at 456, I thought I'd probably be safe at about 10° below max temp. So I set it for 444 and tried a much bigger load; maybe 0.12 g.

Even though the loads I've vaped this way have contacted the oven cylinder significantly (conduction), I have not combusted yet. Furthermore, I don't feel like I risk combustion when using this temperature setting. As I have become more comfortable with this system, I have gradually increased the temperature so I can eventually figure out the highest temperature I can use without risking combustion. So far I've gone as high as 448° without combusting or feeling like I risk combusting.

What I learned: Apparently the only way to combust with my Aromed is to have herbs contacting the oven cylinder at max temp or very close to max temp.

This feels like a big step forward in understanding my Aromed. I will probably make a video demonstrating this. However, since I will have an Underdog in a few hours, that video may not happen right away.

hey guys can you maybe help me out here ?
ok so i have pretty much read through this whole thread , im just about to pull the trigger on one of these units . but one thing that i would be disappointed about if i did purchase it , would be if i found out that it is not any better then my solo as far as the thickness of the vapor .
i think i would be disappointed with this even if the vapor was much better tasting then the solo . im just wondering this because it seems some of the post here suggest that as good a vape as this thing is , it might be a little bit whispby in vapor production .
i like to use my solo on 6 with a pvhes turbo stem . i struggle with converting fully to vaping , not that i want to convert 100 % .
as once in a while i truly enjoy smoking a joint and dont have any wanting to totally give this up . but at the same time i want to be as health conscious as possible . but if the aromed does not produce at least the same thickness , and satisfying vapor as the solo .i would not really want to put down the money for this vape . anybody have experience with both and can confirm weather or not i should be concerned ...thanks !

Hey man as much as I love this vape, I feel that it is best suited to those who arent chasing clouds. Over the past 6 years ive gone from the highest temp vapors, chasing the thickest most potent clouds known to man, to gradually lower temps to the point where I no longer cloud chase, and am using vey low temps (170-180, depending on the unit) Based on your post I strongly feel your interests would be better suited with a direct draw, ceramic heating element vaporizer. While the aromed is cetainly capable of producing the thick vapor your looking for, it has never been my choice when looking for high temp, cloud producing vapor. If you want to inbox me I will gladly provide more feedback and give my recomendations.

Hi guys, after many prototypes, here is my mod for the Aromed, it allows to get nice hits with small ammount of herbs, for me it's totally changing the Aromed!
here are some pics:

the mesh is between the two stainless steel parts, it's easy to load and it's possible to make a bigger hole if you want to load more herbs!
Of course I'll give you all the details for this mod if someone is interested, just ask!

Based on what I've learned from my dough risers, one thing I really like about your mod is that it appears pretty well-sloped, or perhaps conical, which guides most of the herbs toward the center, where most of the heat gets pulled.

Very nice..Did you make that piece ?? Thanks

Thanks, yes, I made it at work :)

Thanks, that's the idea, yes!
My first try was inspired by your risers, but in stainless steel. And after many testings and modifications I finally came out that one

After using my new Underdog (which is fucking awesome) exclusively for a few days, I decided to give the Aromed another try yesterday. I've decided the Aromed is still worthy of a place on my vape table. No matter what I do, the Aromed gives me awesome flavor. That may be the one thing any of my veteran vapes have over the Underdog. However, unlike my Underdog, if I use the Aromed much, I create work for myself that isn't easy for me and risks breaking important glass parts.

Having woken up this morning thinking about the big clouds in my first Aromed video, I decided to make a "big clouds with Aromed mod" video. Along with big clouds, other interesting things happened. Now I'm baked. (Here's a link to the video below.)

Ryan when you're placing the light into the herb chamber try not to angle the herb chamber, simply lower the light into the herb chamber and hold the light with one hand and the aromed (the end of the lights metal flexible part) and lower it into it. This is the best way to avoid breaking and it works really fast and well too.

EDIT Nevermind, you got it!

You should offer these to sell like @DDave does with his Mods

So my 'recreational' herb holder arrived today. First thoughts are it's not much smaller than the original. I'd say less than 10mm (going by my eye).
I will fire her up in the next day or two and let you all know what I think. I'm probably going to order one of the glass pellets for liquids as that may give an extra 2mm or so to add a bit more height.

I have given the recreational herb holder a couple of runs today and I think it is much better than the original. Especially for small loads, which is all I've done. Larger amounts may combust at high temps.
I still think the dough riser and the newer mod to reach these pages would do a better job as the particles towards the outside of the holder don't seem to get a much heat.
The conical idea which the members mods incorporate would really direct the heat at the product.

It's nice to fire the Aromed up again, it has been a while. There seems to be a certain smell it leaves in the room which is really nice.

I reckon if I could raise the screen by 3mm it would be great. I have to get a few supplies next month so will probably get the glass liquid screen.

One thing for sure, all the parts for the Aromed get expensive.

this is my one vape that gets used the least but the one I want to use the most.

Why don't you use it more? Just curious. I also love using it, even though I use it less than the Volcano. I like switching it up once it a while. The Aromed is definitely more of a stoned high than a high high.. it is for serious medical use or just a day of relaxing.

I have a 12 yr old child, so all my vapes need to be kept hidden away. I tend to vape at night and it's not easy to used my plug in units. My portables allow me to be discreet. I do love my Vapman, and the grasshopper is perfect for my needs however the Aromed is special and I love it more everytime I get to use it.

Welcome to FC, althou I am just a newbie really.

I have been using an AroMed for close to 2 years and really enjoy it. I get vapor tube by the foot and bottle brush all the glass with just soap and water. Looks as thou most save the collections but I would rather op for as clean a vape experience as possable.

The glass is rather expensive I have broke one piece so far. Other than 20 foot of vapor tube and 4 screens thats all I have needed to maintain in 2 years. Its my daily driver with 6-8 cycles a day and just keeps shining.

Hope your experiance is fruitfull :\

Please tell me where you get your tubing. What diameter? THANKS!!!

The only tubing I have for my Aromed is the tubing that came with it.

Actually, I don't even know if I own an Aromed anymore, or any other vape. I've been in the hospital for the last nine days with a femur that broke into at least three pieces. (I got some interesting video footage from the ambulance ride and the hospital, all cut and edited into what I think is a pretty cool video, but I haven't been able to upload it to YouTube yet.)

Shortly after being taken to the hospital, scumbag cops illegally searched my home and took, to the best of my knowledge, everything. Aromed, Underdog, SSV, Arizer Air, 4 SCS 4-pieces, 2 SCS 2-pieces, 3 Space Case 2-pieces, 1 Diamond Grind 5-piece, 1 recycler, about 10 cheap grinders, probably about half an ounce of medicine, and some other stuff.

I can't believe I've been able to go this long without medicine. Before this, it had been probably well over a year since I went a full day without cannabis. I tried a few times, but spasticity from MS wouldn't allow me to succeed. I don't know how I've been able to do it the last nine days. Must be the Percocet, I guess.

Hopefully I won't be a junkie when I leave here in no less than five days from now. I don't think my Percocet dosage has been anywhere near enough for that to happen, but I don't know. I'll probably be in a lot of pain for a long time even after I return home, if not forever. That's not including the unending MS pain.

If you find a good source for tubing, please share.

I'm incredibly, incredibly sorry to hear that. Please keep everyone updated as to how you are doing. I have a perfectly functional Zephyr Ion I would happily give to you for free if someone is able to donate the shipping costs, as I am somewhat low on funds at the moment. It's not the most amazing vape in the world, but bag vaporizers can be very pleasant for those who don't have an easy time with fiddly small parts. No one should have to go through what has happened to you and I am sick to my stomach.

In terms of the pain management when you get back, I would seriously look into Kratom. It is a powdered leaf, sold online at around 10 cents a gram, that is a natural opiate. Many sick or recovering people that I know have had great success taking Kratom instead of traditional painkillers. It is powerful, and largely safe beyond a few specific aspects like mild addictive properties and an unresearched hypothesis that it could lower testosterone levels.

Be well. :peace:

Thank you. Every supportive post and Like means a ton to me. It's been very hard, even though I was already pretty damn crippled before this happened. But I think somehow a lot of good has already happened specifically because of this horrible, painful injury. For one, it has made me realize that using a wheelchair may actually be a good thing; it gives me considerably more mobility and freedom than a walker. A week ago I thought using a wheelchair could only be bad. I couldn't have learned this without having such a horrible injury. Hopefully my leg will stop hurting someday, though.

Since it's probably unlikely that I'll get any of my vapes back, Underdog has already offered me a new UD, to replace my beautiful Missy Pod Dog, which I've only owned for a few weeks. Also, I guess I've also been trying to limit my injury/cop-related rhetoric to the Underdog thread.

Thanks for the tip. I've never heard of Kratom.

So i got the Aro today. If you unscrew the glass cap over the bulb...there is plastic in the vapor path, and the cap has 3 holes so its not air tight.
