Discontinued The Grasshopper

So my GH was on a brief hiatus, about a month that it wasn't in use. I used it the other night and now the the GH doesn't seem to be charging (red lights come on for a second when you initially plug it in, and then stops). I don't believe it's charging, can someone point me towards a decent battery charger? I'd rather not have to send it in.
Just curious, but are you sure it's not charging through the USB? Mine only blinks red about once every minute while it's charging. When it's fully charged it blinks blue once per minute. It may not be exactly once per minute(haven't actually timed it, but it's close.)

It could also be the USB port you are plugged into.

One last possibility. My GH charger ***does not*** work through iPhone bricks. Directly to USB, iPad, and other various UL listed USB adapters also work, but iPhone bricks have made my unit go a little wonky. However, this was over 4 months ago and I can't remember I USB charged my Grasshopper, but just for information, if you're using an iPhone brick to charge try something else.

It's here! I also caved and bought an SS from Vapefiend. Definitely keeping my 10/15 pre-order, I just couldn't wait. First impression is I'm blown away. Had really high expectations and too much anticipation, and yet somehow I am still blown away. Awesome. Fingers crossed it's a stable build, I'll check in on that.

My Hopper is running scorching hot but still works. I'm saying if you touch the chamber it's going to singe you. Anybody else have this problem or know what's causing this ?

RIP - Dark Grey Ti - Flashing Red lights when I load a battery. It sounds like it is heating up (clicking inside) but never gets warm and never goes blue.

Battery tests almost the same after 5 cycles of flashing red lights.

Email sent to support, wish me luck!

EDIT: I decided to mess around a bit and simply turned the top of the press button 1/4 of a turn CCW and its working again

Sounds like it was behaving as if you didn't click it off and it auto shut off. Good luck hope it works!

Well I'm on day three/four with the hopper (things have gotten a bit blurry ;)). I wanted to write up a more in-depth review, but I feel that most of the things that I would have said have been covered by other hopper owners. I've had a very positive experience so far! I haven't really measured battery life and would be mainly speculating, so I'll pass on going in to more detail in that area for now. I'll just say that with four batteries total and a D4 charger, I'm not too worried.

I would say there is a small learning curve in regards to optimal use for the individual or group using the hopper. This is mainly load size and how you want to surf temps. I've found that anywhere from a medium-light to medium-full pack (relative to bowl size) gives me the desired results. I personally prefer to start at 3 o'clock on the temp dial and turn it up as I see fit throughout the session to around 4.5 o'clock max. I'll set it to 5 o'clock on the temp dial occasionally, but I usually don't need it that hot because I don't prefer my material quite as spent.

I have repurposed a traditional oil pen case for use with my hopper and it is perfect for my use! I can fit the hopper, a small brush, 4 batteries (one inside of the hopper itself), the silicone mouthpiece, a doob tube or two, and the Crafty/Mighty CU with the FW 3.0 mouthpiece. Additionally or alternatively, I can carry a MFLB glass mouthpiece in there for use for vapor/mouthpiece cooling as well. I have found both of these cooling methods nice and useful, but definitely not necessary. That being said, I would have to agree with the sentiment that this is not really a session vape in my opinion. I feel that it could be used that way, but this things really shines for getting a monster rip or two and then "set and forget" until the next time I desire a pull or two. The effects from this are awesome, so it usually at least a little bit until I am reaching for it again.

Here I am ranting again :D.

Edited quickly for better clarity in one sentence.
Can you take a pic of that case or let me know where you got it. Sounds perfect for my needs!

Long-time FC lurker, proud new GH owner as of two weeks ago. Would've posted earlier but off on too many GIMs (Grasshopper-induced misadventures to quote my favorite poster SLBDCO).

So far it's been insane, this is a different level of high than I've ever experienced in my 30+ years of different gadgets. Did one pull and walked around Manhattan for two hours afterward, real Alice in Wonderland experience...

Definitely tried that. Multiple times. On multiple batteries. Never was able to get it to shut off by clicking the button. Non stop solid or red flashing light if there was a battery inside.

Believe me, I have been! This thing is perfect stealth for New York City, I can pull in ten seconds and release in a crowd of NYPD and be gone by the time they start looking around...

Welcome! You should replace "New Member" with "The Pickpocket "

humans should live closer to nature. Manhattan is very unnatural place to live- a concrete jungle. good for those who have a Hopper. so they can at least stealthy inhale a little bit of nature.

I agree in principal that cities can be huge de-humanizers and that we humans need to be in nature more and understand our natural selves and surroundings. But the human experience in urban setting is no less valid.

I believe you're not being fair. There are some truly awesome natural features and aspects to the area around Manhattan, not to mention the myriad man-made wonders. Rabbit holes can be good for the soul, in the right dosage and with perspective.
And when I get my Grasshopper, yadda, yadda, yadda...

Here here! A lot of my walkabout took place in Central Park so there was much communing with nature...

Every time I go to Manhattan it feels like I've gone down a rabbit hole!
Welcome.
Thank you!

So the grasshopper is STILL a 6 month wait with a very high chance it will be doa...or dead in a few weeks?!?! AND they keep raising the price...what's the point?

just checked my order and it pushed back again until June now instead of may....:(

Having the FF2 in hand now makes me think i should just cancel and let them sort out all production problems and other quirks before I spend 200+ to beta test

I'd like to see a company release a reliable gh clone with a bigger battery.

So if u ordered one today, when would it ship?

Keep in mind that people will much more often post with problems, but for those there are probably many many more out there who are not having issuesand don't post because they're off enjoying Grasshopper-inspired misadventures...

@Welease Wadawick welcome to the FC community.
What we are hearing from is just FC members that have GHs. FC is just a small section of folks. We always think we at the center of the universe and we're not.

You are so right. People with problems with the hopper are going to post more than those that are blissfully vaporizing away.

I hadn't visited this thread in awhile and was hoping for more positive posts though. There could be more faulty units in the wild.

I'm hoping for some posts down the road of some grasshoppers that live to be 6 months old. A hassle to have to send a unit back and wait for it to be fixed.
