Hi,

i had a da vinci, since few years, i bought several times some flexi straw and extended, but even are new : the metal part was dislocated plastic party...
How can you fix this ?
can i put strong glue ? it's not a little dangerous to add this product ?
thanks for your help
I wouldn't trust any glue I've heard of.
Send an email over to Karma/DaVinci.
They're good people and responsive. I suspect they will get you straightened out!

Went to my mom's last night and saw this sitting in a drawer. I asked about it and she said she bought it years ago but it didn't work well? So I opened it up to check it out... My mom is retarded! (no offense meant) She had been loading it in the top chamber in the mouth piece. This does look like it would work to give you mild convection hits but it doesn't work very well according to her.

I charged it up and I will load it in the ACTUAL chamber in the bottom and actually try this 2 year old vape for the first time! I found 1 oil cart too. I'll test both out and report back. My mom will be stoked if this thing actually works. She asked if she could have my Haze until then, I said hell no it's 2 days old! I gave her my Hammer Pro instead. Haha, I love my stoner hippie mom.

So, any tips on this dinosaur?

No dinosaur! These babies are still one of my favorites! Keep the screens and threads clean! Handle the straw carefully!

Haha, thanks Kidfated. I see you on every thread I join, the Vape addiction is strong! Mine is just getting started after joining this forum 2 months ago! I joined to discuss enails because I love concentrates but I smoked all of my flower despite having 2 vapes (pax 1 and Vaportower). Talking to you guys got me to pull out my old vapes and then first purchase a UD, then a Hammer and a Haze. Now I almost never smoke, only Vape!!

Thanks for the tips, I'll try it out tonight! Do you use the oil cart for herb like the haze for pre-packed loads?

Also when loading directly into the bottom chamber is there supposed to be a screen in the bottom? Mine is missing if so but I can add one.

Also why is that top chamber my mom was using there? Is it really for convection vaping or what?

The cans don't work well for herbs and have never worked well with wax/oils for me either.

Yes there should be a screen on the bottom of the chamber. My understanding is that the top chamber was originally designed to add other herbs in the top along with your bud in the bottom chamber to add different flavors to your herb, I believe the idea was pretty much a failure in practical use.

Like KidFated I still have lots of respect for my og Davinci, works great still although after near 3 years use, the batteries are now only good for 3 or 3 1/2 sessions instead of the 5 sessions when new but after a pound or so of bud being vaped in it over the years I'd say it's served me well.

(My very very first DV from back when they first started selling 'em was gifted to someone within weeks of me getting it and it still works great, tried to trade back with other vapes but the owner loves the higher temp in the units first released by Davinci )

:peace:

Fine grind, I like it at 375°f+ and take controlled draws. Also don't neglect the bottom screen, it's easy to let that one get gunked and it does affect performance. The oil cans are trash...don't waste the concentrates.
The OG davinci is still one of my highest for value vapes...

I packed DaVinci up with some beautiful old school Dutch treat last night. Yummy hits at 380! Not as cloudy as the Haze v3.0 but excellent vapor quality! Much less draw restriction than the Pax and just as good of vapor. This may be the best $100 vape on the market, I hear a lot about vapes like the Flowermate and not as much about this older vape. I wonder why? My mom said she got it for less than $100 so for that it's a steal! Speaking of I may STEAL it from her lol. JK, I will clean it up, show her how to use it properly and insure she doesn't combust her meds again!

IMO the reason it isn't talked about as much is because all of its most desirable qualities were copied and given to cheap Chinese vapes and are now on the market on these vapes they see selling under 10+ different names, just in a smaller form. But I agree, the davinci is still up there and should not be slept on. Glad It got sorted out.

Hello, i was just wondering after extensive reviews and research if this vaporizer is still worth it money wise over the Air or Ascent? Or i shouldnt bother.

I was about to buy an Air, but i find it too expensive.

the davinci is certainly a powerhouse conduction portable unit. plugged in to the wall socket it hits harder. works great through a water tool also...

Why not look at some of the newer released vapes like the Boundless CF or CFX? They are a hybrid of conduction and convection, but they get to temp in under 20 seconds and inexpensive as well with the FC discount code.

certainly one of the problems when we jump onto every new thing while the older things still work just fine. this thinking is why electronics are oblsolete in 6 months because they want you buying the latest greatest..

I was just offering the new member another inexpensive vape option. It is true the DaVinci is an average portable, that produces vapor, but the Boundless vape heat up time puts it on another level in comparison. I think many vaporists detest long heat up times when vaping especially on a portable unit.

yes but it does not seem that the boundless has pass through vaping which the da vinci does and if at home I plug the davinci in every sesh to end it high- fun pun

Thanks both for the quick comments!

My issue is that sadly i must buy locally as importing stuff into my country is hard at the moment. Thats why i dont have that much to choose from and the cheapest option is the DaVinci.

Something im not sure, it has the same problem as the Ascent, where you have to put the glass oil can in the chamber when using less thant a full chamber?

no, the davinci vape chamber is smaller. I pack mine light and fluffy with fine ground herb for best air flow, plus it is a conduction vape so if you pack it tight it will vape away your herb faster. I've milked a session for 45 minutes before just slow going it, but it did start to taste burnt popcorn near the end. you will need to clean the screens regularly for best air flow

Awesome, finally what about smell? I know the vaporizer smell during use but how long does it smell after it cools down? As ill probably will be hiding it in my wardrobe.

It will smell somewhat. Keep the chamber empty when not in use and get a carrying pouch to reduce the smell further.

But it can also smell more. It depends on the strain your using in it too...if your herb has no smell, the vape won't smell.

If you got something you can smell outside, it will be slightly magnified by the davinci.

If you iso clean if often and keep it clean, outside of the pocket it only has a couple feet scent radius.

Hope that jumbled thought helped.

Has anyone had their blue LCD screen turn dark on the right side when up around 390F or higher? Depending on what I have or feel like, at the end of a session I take it to 390F and then 405F and have noticed that the right quatrer side of the screen is full dark.

yes, it happens when it runs hot. the heater is on that side of the unit and it eventually effects the viewing screen. it does not harm it?? it just makes it hard to read the digits. usually by the time it shows dark its time to power down anyway so....

Ok, thanks for the replies. The black silicon ring on the top of the chamber has also swollen and make the canisters difficult to get out.

I may just contact them to send it in for replacement.

When it happened to me, I thought it may have permanent damage. Now, if I want a longer session I use a desktop. The Davinci is nice because I can get full extraction at 365 in 15 minutes; any more time I worry about hurting the unit.

-Blue: How do you use your canister?
