G Pen Elite Vaporizer

Came across this one today from Grenco. It looks like it will have two different versions, one for dry herbs, and one for wax/concentrates. It has an LED temp display on the side, and adjustable temps. Here are the two best pictures I was able to find at the moment.

I'm looking for it on alibaba . @PPN you're the PRC vape guru. Have you seen this before?

I honestly don't expect grenco to all of the sudden start coming out with original or quality designs. Maybe they will get lucky with a rebrand however, their marketing is on point. I'm blown away at all the chumps with their $100+ titan rebrands...

I emailed Grenco with some questions, and directly asked them if this was a re-brand like the G Pro was a re-brand of the titan-1. I was told it's an original design on both the internals and the externals. They also sent me the following tech spec sheets:

I don't know what to think about that?

Am I a PRC vapes fan? ....No, only a poor guy and even if I enjoy to receive free stuff I try to write unbiased and honnest reviews (and I already spent a lot of money in vaping industry!) and i haven't got any interested contact, just for clarification!

And to reply to your answer, no I never seen this vape before, and I agree Gpen doesn't inspire a lot of confidence!!

Don't be offended! You just seem to always know what's coming out early and be ahead of the game on the alibaba stuff! Some of your reviews have helped me out, and certainly helped spot rebrands.

Pretty sure they claimed the same with the original gpro.. everything else was the "rip off". But hell maybe I'm wrong, but an "original" in a sea of product rebrands just doesn't seem very feasable. Their track record doesn't inspire confidence..

If they are designing vapes in house they should wise up and do some R&D. The markets pretty saturated with your standard 5 click ceramic oven PRC vapes..

well, the huge chamber does seem nice... 0.75 is a considerable amount!
@BuzzDanklin Tell us more about it.. does it have any funny tastes and stuff? Why did you give it so high rating? Is it that good?

I am preparing a video review of the G Pen Elite, but my first impressions of the unit are great!
The huge con, its the mouthpiece that gets hot, this may boder sometimes.
In resume the taste is very good, it makes nice clouds, I got good amount of vapor at 188C/370F, and at the top temperature 220C/428F it gets really intense. The heating time is awesome, from the ambient temp (27C here) it took 35s to get to 220C.
Mine came with no brush. :(
But I have the one from the GPro!:)

I just got one. I'd rank it overall comparable with my Arizer Air and Solo, meaning it's in the top tier of portables. It gives a heavier hit (but inhaling much closer to heating action) than my Arizer Air and Solo. It seems to (or is claimed to) be all or mostly convection vs. conduction heating, which is rather novel or rare in vapes this small and effective. It definitely seems to pack that extra impact I expect from convection vs. conduction heating.

It's simple, well engineered and constructed, very effective, compact, temperatures seem well calibrated, and claims to be largely convection -- a winning combination. As noted, the only potential downside is that the mouthpiece gets hot, particularly if it's turned up high and/or used for longer than the 4 minutes it normally stays on (single cycle). And despite reports, it doesn't heat up as fast as cited (at least at the upper end of temps. that I use), with the temp. reading obviously at the heating element, not whatever metal heat exchanger is being heating. But it is much faster than an Arizer Solo or Air in giving comparably productive hits (at top-end settings).

@voodoo_vape Sorry I missed your message, you can check out my full gpen elite review but basically I rated it high because its very portable, its reasonably priced, it has adjustable temperature, it has very quick heat-up for a conduction unit (I know the literature says it is convection, but I disagree), it has good flavor for a conduction vape (after you finish the burnoffs, it did come with the factory/electronic smell, but it took less burnoffs than most units) and lastly it has good battery life for its size.

On the downsides I agree with @SantoSkywalker that the mouthpiece and vapor can get hot especially on the higher temps. I have found a lot of the heat has to do with the placement and angle of the vapor leaving the mouthpiece into my mouth. When I point it into the center of my mouth I don't have any problems with the heat, but when I aim it at my tongue/lip/cheek I definitely feel it. Another downside like previously mentioned is it does require some burn-offs.

Overall definitely impressed coming from Grenco, when I first got the unit I was honestly expecting to dislike it strongly like the G Pro (titan1) but they surprised me.

Edit: This vape is fully released now, so the mods could probably move it out of the upcoming and unreleased section

Do you think the Elite is an original design from Grenco or only another rebrand avalaible everywhere soon....?

@PPN As of now I am thinking it is original, when I emailed them I was told that it was an original design inside and out. I have also spent quite a lot of time looking through alibaba/dhgate/etc without finding anything like this yet.

I don't have the wax version, and haven't really heard much about it, but I will try to find out some more info :)

Take my money
I try this unit with a friend who as buy is unit directly from Grenco last week.
Better flavor than the original unit for sure, taste as good as the Inhalater if not better, heat up pretty fast too and it's really small and good looking!
But it's a restrictive air paw unit, really hard to puff, and the mouthpiece became real hot after couple hit... Like the original Gpro!
For the price, I think is a good little product.
It can't be compare to the 300$+ unit like Crafty or FF but I think it's a better unit than the Pax 2 (taste, heat up time, usb port, digital display)
I really don't think this unit is convection at all!! It taste conduction and I have see no air port at all on the unit beside the Usb port... Not A Good thing but it do not taste plastic like the original gpro!
I just buy a "ripoff" unit on DHGate for 65$ to compare with my friend "original Grenco Science" unit Hahahaha... But I really think it came from the same place Hahahaha
At this price, it Will make a perfect backup vape!

I would also be interested in a focus vape vs gpen elite comparison. I couldn't compare myself as have no experiences with the gpen elite to draw on. I have also been following the boundless threads; looks like the vaping game has recently been shaken-up with these fast heatup cheap(er) decent quality vaporisers. :)

This vape could be perfect...but damn that mouthpiece. Crazy poor design. Tiny holes clogged immediately, and very hot. Very very hot. Put the oven on the bottom Grenco, let that vapor cool!

Soooo close to being a Pax killeroo. Isn't.

The problem with the bowl on the bottom (like in the Goboof Alfa, the Herbstick Deluxe and the FlowerMate 8 for instance) is that gravity plays against you and tends to make the "puck" (you're supposed to tamp the load in conduction vape) fall down.

When the puck loses contact with the bowl bottom (or rather top in that direction) vapor production is seriously hampered, even if there is no heating element in that location usually (it's the ceramic that conducts anyway)

So, I have very little hope for this model tbh, but for the sake of curiosity, could someone explain in detail the vapor path from air intake to vapor output and the materials involved? If air enters from the USB port, I'll unsubscribe ASAP with a deja-vu feeling...
