Discontinued Vapolution 3.0

Loving this vape.

I finally went and put a Imag 3 capsule in the bowl to see if it would fit and its perfect. A little purity loss but at least its an option for ground herb or the really dry particles that break up as I try and place them into the bowl.

Also here's a picture of the sleeving, I should be getting my heat shrink soon; a video will be taken when I get a new waterpipe for it but the PNWT actually works really well with this unit.

With the 2.0 I held the unit upside down/sideways when using ground herb

Okay after dozens of sessions, this thing is a monster hitter, a proper and cleanable, disposable, temperature adjustable reactor for vaporizing.

I am blown away by the aptitude of this little tank. 3 buttons plus every step of temperature.

A buzzing power supply but there is solution: one is to have a 12DC for cars adapter to go with CAR adapter which in every kit, i will try with a 100-150W device to eliminate this f"cking noise.

The full dynamics of extraction still to explore, i asked for a bigger bowl, what a fool, the one there is is plenty sufficient.

The bent bowl are here simple but not as cleanable as the way the straight jointed bowls are.

The straight joint bowls for dabs and pinched are the key of a non maintenance device if you use some SS mesh balls from S&B pads (crafty or volcano).

These long cucumber-like pads . The correct size of the mesh pad balls is 5-6cm. The whole process :
1-Put it in the vapor path to be infused. The infuser permits to put several balls that i insert in U (2 for me, one at the top of the bowl). No particles from a load of flower then.
2-wipe the honey above the pinches on a caked straight pinched bowl.
3-insert a caked/infused SS mesh ball into a dab bowl and vape the goodies there is (at the temp you desire of course).
4-brush particles from pads
Repeat

I just applied this method but too hot (234°C) and particles made small but nocticeable combustion, tar etc..yuk. But 212°C have brought insane clouds.

@axakal for vaponic my first try was not very successfull as the whole outer tube is hot and silicone gasket too. May be my second try will be to keep the MP part in hand and lift the whole hot unit then. More try may be but when you have the correct tools...

Go for this device people, top device. The buzz should go soon ...:ninja:

The plan is to wag out a bunch of vapes to taste test tonight.

But this vape is great for both taste hounds and getting hard hits. The first few hits are always tasty, and from there I can either continue the taste-a-thon by removing the stem between hits, or leave it in for a little soak in between and get big clouds. The infuser is starting to get a glaze to it!

The temp seems to be stable, as a hard draw doesn't cause it to budge. I know the temp sensor works, as I can see it go up and down slightly when sitting idle.

The infuser stem fits better than the AIW with my VAP2. You know how that thing would just swing around? This one has a nice feel to it and doesn't wiggle as much.

If any of you have done the dance with the VAP2 where you are trying to keep the stems temp in the sweet spot, it's a little more intense with the VAP3. I'm still playing with temps, but I like to start at 390F and do it all right there. It hits hard enough that I find myself trying to reign it in at times...heat soak too much and you get a hot, thick hit that will surprise you. Heat soak too little and the vapor dissipates quicker, so there is a technique to find to get it the way you prefer it. This unit's bigger, thicker glass bowl along with the quicker heat up feels like a performance car that I have to slow down compared to some other vapes. Imagine the VAP2 with more bud and more heat. And the heat up time is really quick. I appreciate the digital feedback here, as I always found myself wondering if the VAP2 was up to temp. This unit heats up in just a little over the time it takes me to set up and roll the perfect pellet...which is easier now with the bigger bowl.

@stickstones points at the let it soak or remove factor! i was let it soak till the end but removing is fun too. Your choice to sit at 200°C is good too, above you extract really fast, all is darkening very fast. I was using Vap2.0 at 55-60% dial.

I confirm the stable temperatures at the draw. There is also some bump above setting but very few time as a regulation effect.

I tried the super hot (222°C)+super hard air hit combo and the first hit is tasty and whispy the second and the others are very big clouds.

Functionnally i would class the device among the big ones like an EVO (because all glass and native concentrates design) with the close-to-herbie precision and speed of heating. the heater sleeve is thin and the temperature rises very fast with 60W. May be the total extraction and very high heat flux could be compared to sub but very far on other aspects.

The buzzing is less annoying but still. It is less noisy than herbie fan and it indicates when the vape goes to sleep as the buzz stops. (you notice it very fast).

Some figures:

100°C in 1 minute
222°C the LED is on in 2 minutes from a cold start.

The time you sit and prepare a stem.

Now the imag3 capsule to avoid the two screens thing.

Intriguing. Two minutes to get to temp with 60W available? I got a few portables with less power that go to temp way faster... (not even mentionning near instant convection with the Z)

VAP3 is more heating than a simple convection vape, it needs to heat the entire glass heater. I can get an ecig to do pure convection vaping in under 10 seconds of heating.

I have tested more and honestly am preferring a single screen over this capsule. The capsule I initially used for oils and holding my glass beads for testing.

Extraction with herb is good but you do lose some of the convection factor and you'll have to go a bit higher or heat longer relying a lot more on conduction. I think the biggest killer is flavor for me. It isn't that bad but its noticeable and distinct when compared to just using the VAP3 without a screen. A single screen doesn't reduce performance or seem to kill the flavor so much for me.

I have been using my VAP3 upside down most of the time. Even if I don't I normally have been pulling out the stem, but with the capsule you'll have to let it heat soak for a while. I didn't think the VAP3 could milk my water pipes but once I stopped using the capsule performance shot back up, especially on lower temps.

Is there 110v and 240v units? or the 12v DC adaptater authorize all sort of voltage?

You are speaking of "heat soak"....this look like there is conduction here...could you let a fuly load bowl in the heater without spent it? although it's not a big deal for me if it's not more than my Herbalaire conduction aspect.

@PPN : please re-read a few pages back, the conduction aspect has been recently discussed. There's quite some amount of it when you don't remove the stem between hits.

I must admit I have mixed feelings about this release, maybe because I anticipated too much? But I keep reading some facts that sound contradictory to the idea I had about what this vape would be.

The VAP2 was for many the flavor king, the secret weapon for taste connoisseurs... Do you guys consider the VAP3 to be equal, better or worse in that regard, setting all other aspects aside?

I find it to be the same, but a quicker tour of the experience. I'm trying to slow it down a little. Where the vap2 could leave one wanting more, this one satisfies. But if you took your normal vap2 session and increased the potency by 75%, while shortening the session time by half, you would have the vap3.

Some excellent reads in here, thanks guys. I think my reason for not getting it is there are no straight bowls and the bent bowl upside down scares me. @paytonpenn , how is upside down working for you? Would it be like using the 2.0 upside down?

Cheers

The way this device heats ie double cylinder geometry make the most concentrated flux of heat you could make, like solo or herbalaire, there is all sort of heat (in most cases) conduction, radiant, convection. these words are just descriptives for scientists to predict and calculate. Just test the impression, taste cloud density, extraction etc... other variables than heat physics.

@bigbossgrayfox03 There is straight bowls and it is a main advantage!

I agree with description made by @stickstones and @paytonpenn i should try all glass thing but particles!

I shall say that the inverted use is a bliss too with straight bowl, the device is very light in weight!! The extraction is among the best i think. be carefull to the couple applied to the straight bowl, but they are heavy at the base and have 4 glass balls to support the very light thing. you can do it and it is marvelous.

I put at 212°C inverted and it is cloud city for 5 mins!

If you sacrifice the taste for the mesh SS pads, you block the pad in the dab bowl and it is insane. IN-SANE

By deconnecting the bowl you can adjust the speed of extraction but you know that when the stem is in, the boiling occuring so hang on.

I used mine inverted with the infuser and it worked great. I was just careful with the configuration not to snap any glass. btw, I love the infuser. I'm using it with just about all my vapes...very easy to configure.
Same, I've actually already taken my infused herbs out and reclaimed my dry herb bowl in some hot chocolate.

Infuser also gets used when I am using the VAP3 upside down.

I'm gonna start using my Infuser on my Arizer EQ wit a DDave mod kit. 3 bowls a day for a month through that should produce a very nice product

A bit off-topic but I made my own infuser using a cyclone bowl filled with flowers, I use it with most of my vaporizers!

I am a little confused about the infuser. How do the infused buds retain the oil when they have to be broken up or grinded later? I would think most of the oil that would stick to the bud would stick to my fingers or grinder rather than stick with grounds. Can you really tell the difference from infused buds over non-infused? Is it only a flavor difference or do you find the infused bud to actually be stronger?

You don't grind anything. Juststick buds in and let the oils saturate.

I was talking about how you would have to grind the bud after it has been saturated if you were to vaporize it. Or is it that the infused/saturated buds are meant to be used/consumed in a different way than vaporizing?

I've done at least 100 loads, unfortunately some of my herb was pretty dry to begin with. I loaded three different strains in the infuser, all of them are definitely dryer now, one is a bit moist but I actually think its just the oils on the surface. None of them were moist enough for me to roll them in pellets to begin with.

Quite sure they give off bigger clouds quicker than they did before. I can't confirm whether or not they are more potent but they do taste more potent.

Some of the infused herb is crumbling down (I'm not grinding), I am just loading a basket screens worth at a time and using the VAP3 upside with a water pipe. Some infused herb is solid enough to place it without a screen so I've separated my solid pellets and more ground-like herb.

you're still grinding?
I probably should have been clearer upfront but I don't have a VAP3. All the vapes that I do have are in my sig and require grinding for optimal performance. I was curious about the infuser since others were mentioning using it with other devices. Vapolution sales the infuser kit for only $30 so my curiosity was awakened.

When I was speaking of grinding the infused herb, I was also not thinking of using the infused herb in the VAP3 since I don't have one. This probably further added to confusion.

I'm not very familiar with the Vapolution products at all but I started gaining interest in this the week before Christmas.

VAP3 comes with a 12VDC power supply that will accept any voltage from 90-240VAC. It does come with a cord and plug for the USA market, but any cord from a 220V laptop power brick will work with it. Or you can get an inexpensive plug adapter to convert the USA plug type to your wall outlet.

Thanks for reply,great to know!

A new member here contacted me...he was asking about the better vaporizer to start in vaporization. Vapolution 3.0 was not alone on the list but one of the mains since the guy told me flavor was really important for him. I was stocked cause he replied to me the vap3.0 seems to be a heavy hitter only...I didn't look too much at the videos but they give this impression to this guy...
Could you confirm the Vap3.0 is, before anything else, a flavor dedicaced device (with a bit more power for cloud chaser...)?

It is on my list....
