Dang !!!
Yocan PM'd me , to be a beta tester for one of their
pen vapes a few months back . I never replied b/c
I'm just Not interested in heated coil attys anymore .

But I didn't know they were offering flower vapes too ...
I would like to try an mflb on steroids , LOL .
18650 sounds good , but if it's only 1500 mahs , idk .
But if I can replace the 1500 with a 2500 , that may work .
I think they're the same size ...

poonman,

Got mine today...on a SUNDAY???
Charging now, will report as soon as I can test it.

First, quick glance:
Comes in a tin box, don't be fooled into thinking they haven't included instructions, they're printed on the bottom side of the tin.
In the box:
SS Drip tip
SS Spoon
Cleaning brush
USB Apple charger
Extra heating element and screwdriver to replace it.

Seems like a love child of the mflb and firefly
@UnshavenFish
Even more so now that I have it in hand.

Hi, i got my Hachi yesterday, first impressions was really good, it is made of rosewood!
Craftmanship is very good, it's all wood except the mouthpiece and the cover lid, why not to make it from wood as well...?
It comes with a small screwdriver, a replacement ceramic part, 2 replacements heating screens, a brush, a very nice spoon and the usb charge cable.

In several aspects it reminds me more the Flashvape than the mflb.

First try, after 3 hours charge I made a quick burn off, there was factory fumes only at the first time, nothing at the 2nd try and i put in some weed...

Vapor formes very fast...i inhale after 1-2s for 4-5s and got a small cloud....and already a thin burn taste (I can't enjoy my flowers taste...), so i stirred a bit and took a 2nd puff inhaling from the beginning....exactly same results!
At the end of the hit i saw some lighting in the box....and the unit was not heating anymore, sometime yes but most part of the time nothing...so after some tries I decided to look at the screen contact...

Screens are placed in a similar way the flashvape is, and my screen was already showing damage where contact is (this is where the small lighthings i saw were coming from), I tried to replace it tighten but it doesn't help (sometime it was working and sometimes there was some lightings).

When it worked i was able to vape the bowl but i think poor contact from damaged screens gave me underpowered heating (and even like that there a was a burn taste....) and i got very whispy clouds from a 10s heating time.

So I decided to open the back lid and I saw the airpath is absolutly not isolated from internals and battery....not good! (although i think it is possible with a small mod, for the moment I inverted back lid to place air inlets near of the bowl).

I decided to gave it a charge and gave it another try with damaged screen placed in the other way cause it was damaged on the + side only. Even with a full charge I got poor hits (quasi invisible vapor, small effects and bad taste) and it was not working all the time!
So I decided another mod, I try to explain....I placed the screen (new one) higher to make it shorter in length and plied the screen to be able to tight it better between the ceramic plate and the metal contact...do you understand?

So after that it was working consistently (I got heating from each button press!) but too hot now, I combusted totally at the first flower bowl, the same at the second using pulse method....
After that I decided to put some straight kief and it was a better experience...even better when I added a small dab...can't speak about taste for concentrates since my previous combustions are totally polluting the taste!

To be honnest I don't know what to think about it for the moment....but it remeinds me a lot my FlashVape experience (it was one of my worst to be honnest but i was a beginner in vaping...maybe now I could get the hang from it!

I'm digging mine a lot. I too at first @PPN got a burnt taste at first but once I started treating this thing like a Firefly/MFLB; everything started working better. I grind my herb with the MFLB grinder and I do not pack it in the oven, I put it in there loose (about the same amount I'd put in the Firefly/MFLB). I only hold the button for 3-4 secs and draw slow. Ever since I started doing that I get a great taste and good vapor. I also put a glass mouthpiece on it from my Vaporfi e-liquid tank and it also has made a difference too

I can literally hit it once, set it down and go about my business. It heats in 2 secs and I'm getting roughly 10 hits per oven. I think they need to adjust their temps, kinda like the problem the miVape had when it first came out. The built is very sturdy and feels good in the hand. The mouthpiece that comes with it is so-so so I would get a new mouthpiece (which I did quickly). I have been through 6 ovens so far and the more I treat it as an improved Firefly, I enjoy this vape more and more.

I think this vape is a lot like the Firewood 3, there is a learning curve with the Hachi. I could also be very lucky and have the one Hachi that works right. Who knows? Right now I am very please with this vape and for the price they have listed, this is well worth the buy.

On a side note, their Gemini is a nice little vape as well. I will be getting the Almighty as well in the future.

I've got one waiting for me when I get home from Christmas vacation.

Pretty excited now after reading @smutman 's impressions. I'll be sure and post my thoughts after I try it out a few times and get a handle on how to use it correctly.

Ok, I got better results without combustion....although I didn't got thick vapor and taste is not the better.

I think my unit came with a not thight enough screen, since it's tighten contacts are nice and unit work as expected. I think taste maybe better when unit will be "seasoned"enough with a nice resin coat!

For bigger clouds I need to try finer grind and dryer buds... and I'll gave it more try even if it reminds me so much the mflb&Flashvape....I didn't felt in love with this vaporizers...although the Hachi form factor please me more.

Do you think , adding their version of a mflb/PA will help
give an even stream of power ? Which may reduce the charring
and combusting . Just like the mflb , making battery contact
will just turn on power , but can't regulate it .

But I'm not liking what I'm hearing about the air path tho ...

So this came!

Couple issues straight out of the box unfortunately. The cover is on sideways on purpose, because it was too long of a cut and doesn't sit right when put on properly... I will have to go ahead and shave off about 2 mm I think, for it to work.

The charger also doesn't work unless I place a bit of pressure on top of the usb cable...

But that being said, I have charged it and tried it once so far. Basically, the same thing PPN is talking about.

The first time it heated, I noticed it was getting orange only at one point of contact, and I had to reseat the filament for it to evenly heat.

I will be messing around a bit with the technique to see what I can vary.

P.S. - I actually really dig the SS spoon.

So, my friend is coming in from out of town, I call him, no answer, then I immediately hear a knock on the door.

"Ah, must be him!"

Nope, its the DHL guy with my Atman Haichi! Felt like an idiot cause I whipped my door open bellowing "MERRY CHRISTMAS DAN!" and it wasn't him  I haven't even opened the box yet, was totally not expecting it to come for a good minute. I'll let you guys know my take.

So, I didn't even load it up yet, but I turned it on and it seems to be getting hot, not overtly hot, But seemed good! I was excited.

The taste on the draw...tasted very much like electronics. No weed in there, but it tasted kinda of shitty to be honest with you, shitty enough that I unscrewed the back. It honestly tasted like the way my e cig smells after I've been running it for a while and I need to change the battery...like warm battery/electronics.

I don't think this thing is safe...I don't know. I'm skeptical to use actual tree in it.

Here are some details. I mean the intake is absolutely not isolated. Is it safe to use? Idk. That's kind of why I'm posting these photos.

UuyTOzX.jpg

That's the bottom taken off. Notice how the screen that holds your herbs is really the only thing separating it from the electronics. I wasn't totally sure, so I took another photo.

D95qFMk.jpg

Yep. Seems to be the case. Then I was wondering, where the intake is really coming from?

LXfBB5V.jpg

Dafuq is this stuff? Is it inert? I hope so lol.
liYY1kF.jpg

It was packaged very well, very similar to the MFLB with the Tin. The spoon seems awesome, without passing too much judgement, that may be the best thing to come out of this. It's a really nice herb spoon lol. Nice little brush too. I also needed another iphone 5 cord.

The vape, I don't want to pass judgement too much as I haven't actually loaded herbs and tried it yet. But it sketched me out enough dry tasting like so much electronics that I didn't know if I wanted to load up herbs and try it.

Edit: Reading the last page or so now...didn't realize people have been trying them out.

So after I started using the Haze conduction screens this thing hits just fine to me. I treat mine like a bigger MFLB/Firefly. I grind my herb with the nano and I don't pack it in, I just put a few scoops with the spoon. I then treat it like a Firefly when I take my draws. I get medium clouds on a 5 sec draw. I get roughly 10 draws per oven and 4 ovens per charge. I don't know in mins or hours the life is on the battery because I pick it up, take a few hits then go about my business. I do turn it off after every oven til the next oven then I click it on while going through the that oven.

This is a learning curve vape that needs a few improvements still yet from the company. Remember people got one for free to review (aka beta testers). I bought mine (they sent me the Gemini for free) but asked me to review both for them. If you don't understand the Firefly/MFLB/Elevape/Firewood 3 then I would stay away from this vape for now. I think this could be a freaking awesome vape though. It heats in 2 secs and looks well put together on the outside (@HellsWindStaff pics of the inside makes me question the vape a little though to be honest). This is a portable on demand vape that heats in 2 secs that needs a few improvements.

I am gonna tool around with these Haze screens over the next week or so because I think one good fix right now is a screen basket to help suspend the herb in the oven. Another fix I think is lower the temps a bit. I say this because the Gemini runs a little hot as well. I have to use their "low" temp for a little too brown ABV. I use the "med" or "high" and I get real dark or burnt ABV.

That spoon and the "dabber cleaning tool" version with the Gemini are the 2 of the best tools I've ever seen.

I have been e-mailing them to see what information they have regarding their take on the vapor path. The pictures make it seem like you just get air from whatever gaps exist in the device?

I haven't gotten around to messing around with it too much yet, the one time I put herb in after doing a couple burn offs, I couldn't get really anything to vaporize and eventually just got the edges to combust. Maybe I will check out grabbing a haze conduction screen and see if better results can be achieved.

The spoon is the perfect size/shape for cleaning out my Daisy mouthpiece/that hole the mouthpiece sits over though... So if only this was a review of the Atman spoon.... It would get an A+

:p

So you didn't think I was going to tell you lot about a product trial with out getting in on it myself.
Well it arrived on the Dec. 21st.
OmZ4bTZm.jpg
XbbchVdm.jpg

Nice packaging and overall nice feel and finish to the unit. Same as all the others as far as what's in the box.
The first thing I did was take the back off. Then I emailed them and said the same thing. I was not happy about the air being drawn into the chamber coming from inside the electronics and battery compartment. 18500 li-ion for those who made speculations early on. Solder connections so would involve a little bit of know how to replace.
p9qfTdxm.jpg
MKvkfqkm.jpg

I decided to try it as is. As anyone who bought from a vendor would. The button sticks on unless you hit it in the right place. As you can see above left, the little white switch on the PCB is not central to the metal switch, which is causing me problems. Not a big problem but it does stick on.
So burn off's. Using a fully charged battery. 3 hours so it's a 500mah charger on the board where the port is. Top left hand corner.
A bit of manufacturing process oil smoked off the screen. Hotspots on the screen. The thing was glowing red. Having used a MFLB I knew this wasn't going to be good. So I took the screen out, very easy, and gave it a bend here and a bend there and put it back in. Same thing with the smoke on burn off, this time it's the oils in my skin that caused it, if you held the button down for 5 seconds ish it's up to red heat again.
I had a quick go indoors where I usually vape and it's now confined to only being used in the privacy of my shed.
Myself and @Ruta set about trying it out again with the original screen and then another of the two spares you get. Still the same thing. It smokes. It smokes because the line between vaporizing and burning, charring, carbonizing, what ever you want to call it, was too fine. Without a load in it the screen was still getting a faint red glow. If you look into the bowl with the lights low you could see it. As the air was getting in every where there was no way to cool it down using draw technique.
It's confined to the outdoors because I forgotten how strong the smell of burnt weed actually was.
Not being one to give in I'm going to persevere and have been in contact with Atman since day one. I will not be doing much more with the Hachi until after the New Year as I have family here.
I have had a bit more of a bugger around and am now happy I know where the air I draw in is coming from.
This has been achieved with hot melt glue and everyone's favorite shimming material. The humble rolling paper.
yfccLxRm.jpg

The lid has been cut in two. Rolling papers have been folded over a few times to give a reasonable thickness to them. The half lid is then pressed in, the screws replaced and paper trimmed.
ntySghQm.jpg

Hot melt glue has been used to seal the hole where the heater wires come thru. I do not mind this type of glue here as it won't get hot enough for me to worry about. It should never reach the temperature to become molten and off gas as it's on the outside of the heat chamber. Hot glue and rolling papers are all I had to hand a silicone seal would be better.
I will stick with it and once I have some time I am going to continue to see if I can get better results.
The air now is only coming in under the lid so it's a lot more throttled. I used rolling papers to seal the lid and drew in thru the mouthpiece, 510 drip tip, there is nothing of any significance coming from anywhere else. You only need lift the lid a tiny bit to feel the difference. The screen fitted at the mo is not getting as hot so it will get changed and some more tinkering will be in order. At least now I have the ability to cool the screen with draw technique which I never had.
I have been able to get some tasty hits but nothing satisfying of yet.

@poonman I had a little chuckle to myself when you mentioned Yocan. Their 94f was my first venture in the vape world. It was attached to an under powered Vamo with a pair of 18650's in series. I could get it to work but it took some modifying and was hot as hell to use.

Today's adventure in Hachi land has been pretty good. I've now moved the switch PCB and re-glued it so now it doesn't stick on. Not very pretty but it works.
BSHZlxAm.jpg

Getting better results now. At least when I let off the button it actually cuts the power.
The difference between vaped and burnt is still to instant. It definitely needs a potentiometer or something so you can turn it down a bit.
Other than the spoon what I have found this little thing great for is concentrates or in my case Iso reclaim.
A tiny bit soaks into the mesh net/screen lovely. Press the button and it's off. You can see thick vapor filling under the see thru lid.
In the words of many of you FC'ers I am 'nicely medicated'. In Phattpiggie terms 'I'm fukin battered'.
