Alrighty! After a week with my new bong and attachments and leaving it tomorrow morning for 6 weeks :(. Hammer is coming, but no bong. Now, I have the 14mm female plus a double end male to get it into my 12inch beaker. Now I tried convection for the first two days, it was nice however I found the Oven too deep and felt like I was having to reallllly heat the thing to get good results. To the point where the device would need further heating to use, but the outside plastic was simple far too hot to dare pull the trigger, slight melting around the top and melting of the small end rubber and even just the radiant heat being too hot to hold the finger there.
I tried the standard straight stem with a rubber seal the bud is a bit closer and it worked better, but didn't like the set up with the glass. Also loaded more Into the female gong and that worked but needed lots of stirring and I found combustion was easier, especially through water.
Swapped it to conduction mode now I think I'm set. Been doing pea sized balls, usually no more than 7-10 seconds of heating. (Convection mode I was having to go 50+ seconds many times and re heats were still 20+). Obviously I have to watch for combustion a little more, but the results are what I have been chasing from vapor bonging.
Clear visible vapor build up that is fun to clear, and large visual clouds on exhale. I found myself smoking bongs using convection due to the hammer being hot, conduction mode there is no need. Even vaping through 2ish grams yesterday afternoon i did not find the hammer getting too hot to use. It certainly was getting hot, as it usually does but not the extreme heat I was noticing previously. So overall realllllly stoked with conduction hammerbongs!

Okay little update, I feel I have been a little down on the hammer. Mostly because I want a Zion and I think I have been a little hard on it. Yes it does get too hot for my liking, but I do probably vape more than your ordinary bear and in convection mode it's really hasn't hindered my vaping. After watching all of @paytonpenn videos I was slightly underwhelmed by the clouds, however after working out a reliable vapor bong set up its really impressing me. Given its size, the fact you can hook it up to a decent sized bong and milk it is pretty impressive. After not being too happy with the solo or HA in the bong this certainly gets me that little closer to my vapor bonging desires! It has proven my hyoothesis that big vapor clouds through a big bong was my thang! I'm certain there is something out for me soon enough that will improve all of this a bit for me and really hone it in! But for now this hammer thing is pretty fun and certainly removes my desire to smoke bongs.

Can't beat the Evo for tasty water conditioned hits IMO but the Zion may very well do the trick for you also..
Cheers.

Hey if youre talking plug in vapor bonging then you have to throw in true logs like Underdog and E-Nano ;):ko: @Tommy10 hope you've checked those out as well. Hammer and Zion kinda like portable logs themselves

Probably the wrong place to get into it all but the more restricted air path of logs does not provide as enjoyable of an experience as the open air path of the Evo or Zion Tech IMO. Never tried the E Nano but was a beta tester on the Epic and although i greatly liked it, it certainly couldn't keep up with my Evo. Air path was much more open than a PD but still more restricted than my Evo. Again, my opinion.

Agreed, heard Nano is more like HI that way, more open, but only have UD myself. Agreed I like Zion more in every way however... More power and airflow. Need to try an Evo some day...

But yeah Hammer definitely has the open airflow factor as well, but there are ofcourse many factors aside from these as we all know.

(Also btw think you accidentally quoted something from vapamn thread too bud)

We now return you to Hammer's regularly scheduled thread...

Also, put silicone whip from the small end it rattled without the rubber so just trimmed it down to size now I can load conduction through the big end and use without a stem. Just need hammer bud butane. Yes!

@Hammer Vaporizer Thanks for the awesome sale and product, I just got mine today. Here are my thoughts.

- I eyed this up a yearish ago, but decided against it and went for the Lotus. The reason primarily was at the time, I did not think I would like the all inclosed lighter/vaporizer. I think after using this, that it was put to rest :) wrong choice on my end.

- Best thing about butane vapes is off the grid availability anywhere, and I can get that easily with the Hammer, I've been using it in the house just to try it out. But I love how small and compact it is, and I won't have to worry about losing my lighters (this happens everytime I take the Lotus out sans giant butane torch)

- It seems to take a while to heat up. If I could knock up the temps a bit, I would, but I find my best hits are holding it while actively inhaling. I'd prefer if i could almost preheat and then pull, but mine doesn't seem to be getting ALL that hot. Make no mistake it's definitely vaporzing though and it tastes really good. Smaller loads are nice and toasted. Bigger loads get more brown, but still not terribly dark. A good vape though definitely ! :) I also like how it uses the "stem" type of design like Underdogs. Clean taste. I also found it not really that hot though, even while hitting it dry. I admittedly was going low at first, but even in ramping up, didn't seem too ramped. Maybe too cautious too as I don't want to combust? Plenty of factors lol.

- I dabbed out of it, was really really tasteful. Smaller the dab the better, smaller the rig the better. I used a bigger dab later and spent a while just smoking dabs out the heater.

- Thanks @paytonpenn for the suggestion on using silicon tubing with the stock stems as a WPA. Works perfectly :) I just got some tubing, and it only needed a little strip cut off. The thing rips well though water too, like i said though I would just wish I could knock the heat up a bit. I thought there was a way, and I'll dig through and read, but I'm pretty ignorant on it. At first, I thought it was just my hitting technique, as I usually am not conscious nor have to worry about my draw speed, but I am sipping it pretty softly and it really just doesn't seem to hot. Err..hot quickly. After a minute or two, its pretty hot and I can kind of one hit extract. Still would like if it could go hotter quicker, if there is a way.

I wrote all the above, before reading the page, I see that some of you say it's almost too hot. Maybe I am just not heating it long enough and/or I have unreasonable expectations for the heat up time. I did very little research prior to buying, I saw the sale and jumped as I view butane vapes as a fun novelty type of item I can take out and about. So, I am overall very happy with the purchase. My only experience with butane vapes is with the Vapman and Lotus, and both I can personally reach temp faster with. That said, I lose the stock lighters and use a butane/creme brule torch now when I use those, so maybe my expectations are not realistic.

A great product! I recommended to all my friends at the bar after work, for the price I don't really think it can be beat honestly. I love the look of it too, and like the toolbox esque approach. Also, the nail was the best tool I had to dab with it! This will be my go to when I head to the bar or camping.

I saw payton run a bag through his in one of his videos...I have the means, I may just try that for some fun as well :)

EDIT: I just held it for about 35 secounds, had to reignite a few times as I thought the jet was out. Flames were coming out the sides a little. I forgot to mention that earlier, I tried to turn it either down or up, (I forget which) while the ignition was on. Maybe I turned it lower so its calibrated lower? Regardless. I didn't really get much through the bubbler hit one, but hit 2 I engaged the flame the whole time and killed the bowl basically in 1 hit :) So maybe that's just how you gotta do it, makes sense, I probably just underestimated my lungs. I also just did a conduction bowl  wow that's aweomse

Yea pulled the hammer out last night for some direct draw and micro bubbler action! I too wish mine ran hotter, or at least had a flame lock not a big issue just a matter of keeping the flame held down.

Just picked up a Hammer Pro on the classifieds here for $20, best $20 ever spent!!! I bent a paper clip and made a trigger lock first thing. You can get this thing hot enough to burn herbs if you really wanted to, but it would take several minutes of warm up. I did a dab/Vape during my fist session and it blew my mind. Huge clouds from this little portable. The heat up times go a lot longer than the suggested 30 seconds for me but after it gets going it rips! I do wish it held a lot more butane, I kill it every day.

Do you guys have any tips for use? I have only had it 3 days.

Anyone know if a hammer with a broken piezo can be still ignited by striking a lighting near the unit!
No but replacement is not difficult and they will sell one cheap I'm sure! They sent me one!

I realized just how incredibly stupid it was to be using in a car with the window's rolled up. Rolled em down.
"And then I heard BOOM from the amplifier.."

Just so Dab HAppy!
I decided to jump on this one yesterday. I got it just because I don't really understand how I don't have it already. It's convection (or conduction if desired), decent heat up time, seems to require little attention for use and maintenance looks like it would be pretty easy too. I'm not sure where this will fit into my rotation exactly, but I feel it belongs in my collection and with the current sale I just could not resist.

I got my shipping confirmation within two hours of ordering. By Saturday it will be HAMMERTIME!

Wow! The Hammer is pretty impressive. Over the weekend, I enjoyed many HammerDabs and Hammer Bong hits and throwing a dab in mid hit just for fun. I don't have very many options for my concentrates currently. It's either vape them on flowers or wax cloth which I rarely do, vape them on top of flower in the Daisy (which I do most often), or use a nectar collector setup with a glass straw/bubbler/titanium or glass nail combo (just recently been trying it out) but I must say I like HammerDabs the best so far.

I don't have a strong sense of smell so I can't say I notice any of the butane smell. The Hammer does get hot but I never felt like I needed to check for melted plastic or anything. It does a really great job extracting all the goodies from my flowers, however I still end up with a little lighter ABV then what I am used to with the Daisy.

I can say I definitely got HAMMERED a few times with this thing this weekend!

@KidFated. - how are you enjoying the Katalox Hammer you got from Ed's TNT? I would love to hear how it compares to the glass stems. Can you get us more pictures? I would like to see the loading chamber end and how that works. Does it still seem to lock well?
