I have had my GH for 3 weeks and I have a pax2 and even though I like having both, I think you made the right choice just getting the GH!

At this point I only use my pax2 for vaping my mix of tobacco herbs and weed as the pax2 is great for tobacco and frankly with the efficiency of the GH I'm kinda afraid to try tobacco in it lest i end up in a nicotine coma!

The first thing you'll notice between the two is the flavor of the GH is FAR superior. Also you can get way higher from way less weed. The pax2 needs to be fully packed where the GH will vape even the tiniest amounts and get a few tasty powerful hits.

mod note: Non-comparison comments removed

When you think about the price of a GH vs. a pax2, if you really need to stand around in a circle, I think the solution to that is just get two GHs! In all seriousness I'm excited for you, the GH on heads up comparison really makes the pax2 which is elegant and fine, kinda obsolete :-)

One more thing, since I still have a pax2 I can do silly experiments, I turned my pax2 on to temp 3. I then loaded a GH turned it on, took 3 rips and was high unloaded the GH and put it away before the pax2 was ready ... just to give perspective.

Also cleaning is way easier, like almost non-existent.
Are they still isn't the preorder state?

@slcbdco - as always, thanks for your in-depth informative posts on the FC threads! I am interested in your experience using the Pax2 with tobacco. As I have stated earlier in this thread, I love to vape fine pipe tobaccos in my Solo - the flavor is decadently heavenly. Using the Solo for this purpose requires a very firm pack, and while this may cause a very obstructed draw to begin the session, it loosens up just fine in a pull or two and then the heavy clouds begin and go on and on for at least 1/2 - 3/4 hour at a leisurely pace. I keep the Solo plugged in to the power adapter for this purpose when sitting at my desk or on my tv room lounger. Do you consider the Pax2 to be a good pipe tobacco vaporist's companion? Flavor? How long will a battery last for this use before needing a recharge? And how long do you think a Pax2 baccy loaded chamber will last -i.e., will I need to rush through my load before the battery dies, or can I relax? Thanks for all your valuable FC contributions!

@WakeAndVape The GH is still on pre-order so there is still time to get the discount, I would guess a pre-order today should ship in Octoberish

As for the pax2 and Tobacco, I'm treating myself right now with a cup of coffee! The way I usually pack it is full, my "spliff" blend is actually 50% tobacco 25% cannabis and 25% other herbs. I use a big can tobacco like American Spirit, right now I'm digging some Stokkebye Amsterdam Shag, though I think dryer tobacco works better.

Usually, I start on temp 2, take a few rips, later take a few more on 4 then later a few more on 4. A bowl can last a good portion of the day for me that way but mind you I'm taking GH rips meanwhile for when I want to get high so if this is your only vape or you like more tobacco than I do your results might vary.

Yesterday actually (pax2 is NOT WATERPROFF) I was floating in my pool and I had spliff pax2 and puffed the entire thing all at once, probably took about 10 minutes. It's a great way to use the pax2 although I find I need to clean it a bit more often.

Thank you, as always @slcbdco! I'm hoping to find that the pax2 will work for me when using only the finest pipe tobaccos exclusively, no mix with any other herb. I have found, counter to your findings, that a bit moister baccy vs. dryer produces an even denser vapor and concentration of flavors - this is when using the Solo, mind you (mostly conduction with some convection, maybe similar in ratio to the Pax2). When I finally get my pax2 for exclusive baccy use I will report here for those of my FC forum friends who are interested. Thanks again!

I've read the FC GH thread to date. I think that although some have reported great things on that thread, the GH vape and Hopper Labs appear to have a few kinks to work out before being compared to the Pax/Pax2 and Pax Labs.

You're right, pax vapor is now its on own company and is established. Back when it was ploom, and backed by a heavily capitalized Japanese tobacco company I had to send my pax back because it broke. It's technology that happens.

And while I agree that it's not fair to compare a tiny, crowd funded startup to an established company that just broke free of its international tobacco conglomerate chains, I was simply responding to a question from a fellow pax2 user about my experience owning both, well actually a pax a pax2 and a GH.

Don't get me wrong I love my pax2 for certain situations but you're absolutlely right, I shouldn't be going around saying how in my experience the small crowd funded product is far superior to the pax2, it's not fair to traditional capital formation plans.

To you traditional investors out there I apologize for any offense ;-)

More to the point, it's your opinion, not fact, and there isn't exactly unanimity among users regarding that view.

Hey y'all its been a while for me because I've been enjoying my pax 2 so very much without issues, however now one has come up.

I am having issues with my power button. Sometimes it takes 10+ presses to get it to turn on. I think that resin may have slipped through the sides on the silicone walls??? I clean my pax every 2 days so I don't let it build up. Anyone else having these issues??

Haven't heard of that issue before...so good job! Shoot pax labs an email and let them know, I'm sure they will fix it. I have used my pax2 for a few WEEKS with no clean, TRYING to see if issues would develop. They only time mine has a hard time being pressed is if the mouthpiece is off

I have taken the mouthpiece out and pressed the power button and it still won't work sometimes. I will shoot them an email

Just wanted to say imo out of all my various vapes the pax 2 is the easiest to use for someone new. I brought my pax 2 to work today for a buddy who wants to stop completely and has been combusting all his life. Showed him how to work the pax 2 , let him know of the benifets of vaping vs. combusting and we have a converter . I set him up at my local authorized head shop , we took the drive and he is a proud owner of new charcoal pax 2 .

Pay no mind to those voices in my head
PAX 2 First Impression: "Hello Beautiful"

After 18 months coaxing and cajoling my Firefly, VAS took over and I have a new #1.

Learning curve: None
FLAVOR: I'm not "big" on flavor, but the Pax2 IMO is about equal to the FF, and in terms of burnt popcorn taste, it outlasts the FF.
CLOUDS: I'm also not a big fan of huge clouds, they cause me to cough spasms. Pax2 wins here, small wispy clouds & no coughing.
EFFECTS: WOW (and I haven't even gone to level 4)
BATTERY: much much better (more sessions / charge)
ABV: evenly toasted with no stirring. WIN

So happy!

I am having this issue as well. Been living in the mountains for a few weeks with no Internet or phone service so I didn't have a chance to talk to support yet. Mine usually recognizes by the 4th or 5th button press, but it consistently doesn't register on the first press, with or without mouthpiece. Also, sometimes a long press to go change the temp just turns it off, since the button doesn't seem to register. So I'll then have to short press to turn back on and long press carefully to get it to register. Hopefully they can fix this issue.

Heads up all, the clones for this are hitting the market hard. So just keep an eye out on your purchases.

Did you buy one? It would be nice to see the two side by side to get an ideal of the differences

I have not. I've been in the market for a Pax 2 so I've been watching sales for a few months. I'd be willing to buy a fake to take apart if they weren't going for as much as originals (it's quite sad actually). But even if I did I don't have an original to compare it to. I will say though, if I do pony up for a fake, you can expect some detailed images. I haven't come across a comparison either yet unfortunately.
