I go where the thrills are
Hey fc, just some things I've found useful to know about the Pax since I got it a few days ago.

At first I had found the draw resistance unbearably tough as it was harder than the original Pax and I hadn't learnt my way around the device. In fact, the harder resistance obscures (and cause it is a convection vape, probably is the reason of) one of the most charming aspects of this unit.

The P2 is a conduction vape, not convection. It's as textbook a case of conduction heating as you could possibly imagine.

Easy, first off it must be packed tight! Real tight! After about 2-3 sessions, remove oven lid, tap pax on hard surface a few times and it pops right out in a perfect brick shape. Carefully put brick back in oven green side down. You will now get a couple more sessions with clouds as big as a freshly packed oven. Of course the taste won't be as good but the clouds will be, guaranteed ✌️
Ah, OK, the ol' tap tap tap! I'd been trying to pick it out with a dental tool .... Always crumbled and wound up just mashing and stirring it instead. Thanks!

It will be interesting to see what type of accessories Pax will offer. @Ojan_at_PAX stated they'd have a full line of Pax2 accessories available for purchase by the end of April!

We will be launching some accessories by the end of the month, but it won't be all of them! We're always working on new things so your feedback on future products will be really helpful. This is just the beginning :)

Looking at the PAX 2 but I have heard more than once that it seems to have a severe odor issue. This only seems natural to me that if you start toking on an oven and shove it into your pocket with a half cooked load it will reek. I am wondering does it always reek? I agree with earlier posters that an odor issue kind of defeats all of the stealth measures designed into the PAX 2.

Do you PAX 2 owners have anything to add regarding odor and the PAX 2? Thanks
I have the Crafty and the PAX 2; the PAX 2 definitely creates a stronger odor than the Crafty. To me, it smells like Kentucky Fried Chicken battered in a bit of weed. lol

I really don't find it that severe. It throws a little odor while cooking. A little. Nothing like the Solo, or the INH05, in my experience. From like three feet away I can't smell it all even on petal 4. Maybe someone sitting next to you in a theater could smell it if you fired it up, but even that's doubtful if it were in your pocket. It throws less odor than a warm FF with the lid open, IMO.

YMMV and all that, but to me the odor rep is vastly overstated. There may be good reasons to pass on the P2, but odor isn't one of them, IME.

Been here since 2009
I've read these posts about the smell also, but have yet to agree with that assessment for either the P1 or P2. As others have said, you're heating the material in a little oven. It's bound to smell a bit.

No way does this potential small odor decrease the stealth factor.

just because this is an honest review place and opinions DO matter.... my mom is against smoking the herb and she has a very articulate sense of smell when it comes to anything burning... yet thanks to pax2 i can now successfully medicate while being in the same room with her and not having her say a damn thing and complain about any type of stench or smoke or anything like that and as her care taker that is one reason why pax2 is a game changer for me. I know that many others out there's life is changed now because of the efficiency the way pax2 burns for a portable and we are all thankful... an entire community of patients thanks pax labs inc... for the creative/simplistic/efficient hard work and design that went into pax2 that all of us patients can now enjoy

will the finish of the Pax2 be hurt by a quick iso wipe? will it ruin the paint or anything?

I prefer 'Live Long and Pax' while performing the Vulcan greeting.

I bought the platinum pax 2 yesterday. I haven't figured out much yet, except that it medicates well, is sleek, shiny and stealthy.

Sadly, I am not certain, but I believe I did not get a 'funky town' version.

Can I exchange it?

:)

I've tried a pretty much everything people have said in here short of using a screen and I'm still having disappointing cloud production. I want to like the vape but I am not sure what else I can do.

I've cleaned it, tried packing it tighter, tried all the heat levels. The airflow isn't great, and when I do produce a cloud I'm sipping into mouth and not getting much in my lungs. Are my expectations too high?

Read about this on another site thought others might find it of use.
Stealth Mode:"A shake that's registered while the device is doing it's startup pattern will keep the lights at low white until you turn the device off. This is a hidden feature of the device and every device comes with this feature in order to keep your light low in the dark. You can turn off this mode just by turning the device off."

Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the PAX VAPULI, now vacant, vanished. However, this valourous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition! The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honour to meet you and you may call me PAX.

Ok, I have a funny question. But first let me say on first session I already love my Pax2. For me this is a perfect portable. Very happy with it!

So, I happened to put the pax2 up to my ear while turning it on, and I hear something going on in there? Computer chips thinking? There is a click click click, that is rhythmic and seems maybe related to the lights? This is in no way a problem (I don't think), you would never hear it unless you hold it up to your ear...but on mine at least, it is there, and I have to ask, anyone else notice that?
