Can i use baby wipes to clean the fire fly?

I don't know what solvents are in baby wipes so I'm not sure. You can use ISO (just a very slightly damp paper towel, not soaking) on the steel plate of the main unit, the glass bowl and the steel plate at the bottom (hold the Ff upside down to avoid getting ISO in any of the holes), the grey silicon lid gasket (careful!), the steel lid vapor paths, and the underside of the lid port window. Be very gentle when you wipe the glass...don't dislodge that gasket.

You can also use ISO on the inside and outside of the mouthpiece but again be gentle and don't apply too much pressure. Do not use ISO on the exterior, especially the port glass...that's a recipe for runaway gasket.

Months go by and nothing....then two in one day. This was actually discussed just a few posts above but I'll save you the scrolling....http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-firefly-vaporizer.11365/page-187#post-717229

If you could post a pic it would be easier to tell if you've re-seated it correctly. Hold the open lid up to a light and look straight through the port window. Do you see a perfect circle? If so, yes, it's correctly in place. If any part of the window edge looks straight, you've got a bit of protruding gasket. Use a toothpick and push it in gently. Read the above post first. Good luck!

Well, for the first two times ever, I have suffered the "no light" battery phenomenon. No blinking red, just zero light.

Both times with the same battery, a newer one. The first time it happened, I knew the battery was about dead so I didn't think much of it. Then it happened again, and I'm not certain, but I feel like it should have had some charge left to it. Not much, but enough.

Meanwhile, the unit itself continues making me feel like a prince, day after day...

Like, what the hell? These strange battery behaviors are getting more common...like some kind of latent virus. Very strange that as they seem to be tweaking and improving little bits in later units, these battery issues are on the rise.

Does anyone know when the Euro 220v version is coming out? Or who will be an authorized distributor for Europe? When I emailed firefly asking when it would be released, or who would be authorized to sell this is what I got:

"Thank you for contacting Firefly. No authorized dealers ship over seas. I always recommend using a third party shipper or a mail forwarding system. Also, keep in mind these are made for voltage here in the states so they will also need a voltage converter. "

I saw vapefiend had them on the site, the part that confused me was Firefly directly told me no one in Europe is authorized. I am wondering if the people in europe are selling the zhifa firefly knockoffs I get emails about on a daily basis

Is it okay to use 99.9% ISO to clean the FF?

I received a dark grey FF from Vapefiend on Saturday and can confirm they're definitely legit. Vapefiend is probably the best place, in terms of service, for your UK vaping needs.

Mitchgo61 i see your silver is like mine right side of mouth piece is slightly slanted and your red one is perfect no slant. Im guessing silver FFs has mouthpiece flaws? Can anybody else with silver Fireflys post pics of the mouth piece so i can verify it but from what im seeing with yours what was that percentage of your silver ff mouthpiece slanted same like mine hmms probably means all silvers are alike with defect mouth piece slant. ty for the pictures btw

Thanks imma try to upload a pic now

It must be the picture, because I can detect no slanting in the mouthpiece of my silver.

If that's the amount of non-evenness you are seeing on your device, and it's working fine, I really wouldn't worry about it. In a million years I never would've described that silver mouthpiece as slanted.

You might want to contact the company and give the serial number to make sure its not fake. A while ago, Firefly posted an email about fakes, and it did mention that the mp was offset. Just email them with your serial number of the unit, I did, and they got back me pretty quickly

He never mentioned where he bought it. If it's from FF or Vapeworld, it's not a fake.

Agree to that. This info is on the FF Site, if it helps

Q:
How can I identify a counterfeit Firefly?

A:
Since the launch of the Firefly, counterfeit vaporizers have surfaced on the market. Here are some tips for identifying a fake:

1. Off-center logo on inside face
2. Off-center mouthpiece
3. Visible glue around mouthpiece
4. Magnetic lid not as strong
5. Battery sticker upside down
6. Writing on battery scratches off
7. Unit doesn't work at all - turns green then flashes red and dies

And notice how the fake is noticeably taller, thanks to a larger gap under the lid? Pretty obvious differences.

Great info. Thanks for posting Mike!

I called them and gave em the serial number and stuff and its turns out my firefly is authetic but my mouth piece is slanted like that red firefly on the left side same exact slant. I dont notice any vapor loss or leakage but still kinda bothers me that i paid all that money and got a ff with a slanted mouthpiece that is an actual authentic ff so im thinking i should send back to vapeworld and exchange for a new one in red preferbly. Btw i still dont know how to post pictures smh

StonedPerk,
Hi all.

So I've had my Firefly for a few days now, and i was not satisfied at first. I could barely produce any vapor yet the heating chamber seemed to work just fine.

After a while i started noticing how easy it was to pull, a bit too easy. So I kind of discovered my firefly was leaking air badly on the sides as i've discovered that applying pressure on the center of the cover partly fixes the problem. Closer observation showed me that the metal was partly lifted on one of the sides, indicating that it seems to have been a bad cover mold.

Also I believe my mouthpiece is leaking air a tiny bit. It is barely noticable though but by pressing my finger or thumb onto the small gap I can still pull some air out of the mouth piece, even just barely. I doubt it would even be noticeable if the cover wasn't blown.

Other than that, it the vaporizer itself seem to perform great.
What do you guys think? Anyone experienced the cover air leak issue before?
The Firefly seems genuine according to the website's FAQ and from all the messages I've read here.

Also, did anyone try vaping tobacco with the FF yet? I did and the taste wasnt bad but not particularly great either. Tobacco isn't dried out yet it ain't moist either. Would Pipe tobacco, as FF recommends, be a better alternative to fulfill my nicotine needs?

It could just be the magnets in your cover being weak. Try another cover and see if that solves the issue.

No. The cover is super strong, i can barely get it off (Ok i have no fingernails but still)

I literally have to push hard on the cover to make the leaking stop. Pretty sure its a bad mold.

Hi Marc. Welcome to FC.

Well there are three choices...1. Your lid magnet is too weak, as TNT suggests (not uncommon); 2. Your lid is seated incorrectly (user error, super common, happens to me five times a day!); 3. Your lid is defective.

If it's number 3, it's covered. If you purchased from FF they will send you a new lid. If you purchased somewhere else, contact them.

Also I believe my mouthpiece is leaking air a tiny bit. It is barely noticable though but by pressing my finger or thumb onto the small gap I can still pull some air out of the mouth piece, even just barely. I doubt it would even be noticeable if the cover wasn't blown.

This is a new one to me. (Oh FF, you never bore.) If you are sure the mouthpiece is leaking, you might wanna request a replacement for the unit.

Other than that, it the vaporizer itself seem to perform great.

Now that I read your last sentence I'm guessing you didn't buy from FF. Again contact whomever you bought it from and see about a lid or entire FF replacement if you are unhappy with the mouthpiece. It's all covered by warranty and you should have a device that works correctly, which it sounds like yours does not, at the moment.

Good luck and let us know what happens.

Ok, I've had my FF for a couple of weeks now & I'm getting the yellow overheating light on nearly every bowl. Is anyone else experiencing this? My seller has offered to replace the unit for me but just wanted some feedback from you guys to see if I'm going to get the same again with a new unit.

Hey guys,

Been a while since I posted in here, but seems like my FF is draining too much power, batteries dying way sooner than they should and seems like it may even be hitting a little hotter. I've got an RMA and FedEx label to send it in for inspection, the FF may even be drawing power when off.

I hope I can get it back to my original experiences, slightly worried about it coming back and hitting slightly different or hotter than I had been enjoying. But I guess we'll see, dont know if they'll be able to repair it or if they'll just replace it
