haha morning vaporists ;)

my technique for the Box got super rusty when I couldnt use my old one, and it took me a half a dozen, about 6 trenches, since the day I got it, to feel like I have perfected my technique. I was scorching a bit here and there but nothing to get upset about, now I feel like I have got it down!

only used the good stuff in it and now my Box smells dank!

also I have to thank Wattyler, with those pictures, it sparked an idea and an image of this gong adapter I have that is similar to that, and it fit perfectly into the hole on the Box, no stem needed! off to rinse my bong and try it out!

You would say that taking many smaller sips is better to do than one long drag? (I suppose this allows it to heat everything back up to vaporizing temp)

What is your experience on the technique outlined in the vaporpedia article, about inhaling through your nose?

" 1. Load trench so it is filled slightly higher than the top of the trench.
2. Insert battery and exhale fully.
3. Place your mouth on the box without the stem, being careful not to have your tongue or teeth in the vapor path.
4. Breathe in through your nose slowly as though you are taking a normal breath.
5. Inhale until your lungs feel full or you start choking on the vapor.
6. Hold breath.
7. Optional: Breathe vapor out through your nose. "

Some call this the "French inhale'. It works but it depends on still air around you. It gives great essence, but I think I get higher using oral inhalation. Small little sips, each inhaled, with a little tiny break between each works well. once one has great control, one slow long inhale works, with the Vaporist slowing and speeding the draw. I like sip, swallow, sip technique with the very best of my meds, while I use a long slow draw, alternating speeds for the less "choice" bud. (savor the flavor thing)
The Wikipedia for MFLB says very nicely: "The real efficiency of a vaporizer device is not defined by how well it can make vapor in theory, it is measured in terms of how much of that actual vapor it makes biologically available. "

When I first got my MFLB I was always using the micro hitting technique but now I find that taking one long, really slow inhalation works better for me.

i was inspired to try a water set up with my mflb yesterday, now i am not a glass person(i tend to break things lol) i used an old bubbler i had kept for sentimental reasons. i wanna thank all those who have posted ways to use the mflb in this regard as i think i took a lil bit from everyone to make it work last night......i gotta say the flavor was unbelievable, i would compare it to high grade cognac, it just goes down so smooth :brow: after 2 trenches i was done lol.

i now am interested in getting some glass specifically for my mflb, something small, reliable and cheap($50-$100). im not a collector(yet), i just want something that'll function well with my mflb...i honestly started looking at the ehle's 100 & 250 ml units, any advice from the glass aficionados would be greatly appreciated.

same for me, i kinda loose rhythm when using the micro hit technique and sometimes i even forget to sip lol especially when im already vaked lol. perhaps i need a metronome to keep me on point lol.

so this worked pretty well, I didnt expect to be getting huge hits but it was fun, it was not cumbersome because the Box could stay attached to the adapter, as shown above. my favorite part is that I didnt have to use any plastic! I mean the stem it comes with doesnt add any taste really but most tubing does, and besides the box it is all glass! I also might get better hits with more practice.
when I hit it I just tilt the tube so the box is level.

thoughts?

Read back in this thread. For 3.50 you can get a great glass unit!! MFLB water device
About that micro hitting technique. I think that is the mark of the main level of MFLB mastery is to be able to use a long breath. With some particularly rare, spicy bud, I still use the micro hits, to taste and feel the tickle!

Yep, comes off with the smallest amount of effort, not as tight as the stem but Very close!

I also forgot to mention that when I hit this setup I tilt the bong back so that the Box is level. its very comfortable the way everything fits

That looks awesome NYC! Exactly how I wished my 7th floor one had worked. Where was it from?

You should be able to get quite nice hits after a few tries. ( but don't try and milk it up too much without a shake or it's easy to overcook IME)

yea I figured I should be a bit more careful considering that I cant feel the heat so directly. Im going to continue working my way up to better hits.

Its a GF(glasstafarian) 90 degree adapter, i actually have two of them, but only that one fit. Im lucky that even one of them worked, if anything happens to it I probably wont be able to find another one like it. I originally bought it for my DBV.

The batteries have little white things on top, would you advise in taking them off?

Also, you mean take a small draw ("sip"), then pull it down, and repeat? Nice, will do

So I just posted some pics of my LB case and water setup in the custom vape section... Didn't know where to put it cause it wasn't really a review... Anyways, check it out and check out the case I made out of the essential h2o case over in the custom vape section...

The essential comes with water adapters for all water pipes, even plastics, and the ends fit in the whip tubing Blissville sells... I dig it. But I also got the essential for kief vaping purposes, didn't just spend 60 bucks for a case and adapters, so this 'mod' may not be for everyone.

Method

Bake meds for 15 min @ 250 degrees. The intent is to increase potency by converting certain acids into THC. Many good reviews on this so...
Bud can then be finger grinded easily. (reason enough)

Vape native and with stem for flavor.

After flavor declines, go to whip, bigger draws without coughing.

Last half of the trench alternate between bag and bubbler. First the bag because of the humidity increase in the trench, followed by the bubbler for those higher temps to get more meds out without over-browning.

Time for firecrackers. Time to Get melLow.

potency, flavor, variety

=fuck combustion

I have a mouthpiece I use sometimes, and I give it to 1st time MFLB users. It is a borasilicate mouthpiece, not listed in stock, but you can ask for it at Half Baked Goods (small borasilicate mouthpiece) HalfBakedGoods.com.
The idea is that it has a very tiny opening at the end (as well as the piece going into the tube). This restricts a normal long draw, to the speed of more like a sip, as described as the best technique. This has helped a few friends that just "could not get the hang of it".

OK, so ive been lurking long enough. got my power adapter around a month ago, maybe a bit less. its great. just about everything has been said already. its the 1st one btw. i find the back of the "battery" often becomes too lose or too tight every once in a while, but its not a huge deal. also, i find quite often that with the push-back ring, i have to push it a little bit to connect it. or maybe its not the push-back ring? idk. but the dial works really well and i really like that method of vaping at lower-higher temps as the trench goes on. also, i never used the sip technique. i taught myself (by reading this thread for tips of course, so thanks guys!) to draw in one long hit per lung capacity. to each his own i guess. i bought extra batteries a while ago which i thought weren't working, but i hadn't realized that they were high discharge and don't hold a charge for long. they are Duracell 2450. they work well but i like that i don't have to remember to charge batteries before use, not that i have used any except for when traveling since i got the power adapter. also my preference is native, but sometimes i like the stem. but i usually only use it as a guest mouthpiece because my saliva has made a thin layer where i put my mouth, which im constantly scraping off. is it bad for the wood? anyone have any knowledge on that? also the carbing technique is very effective, unless u have the rubber band on. surprised more people talk don't talk about it. also, i know theres really no room on the box, but if there was anyway to know what temperature the box(or screen) was at? like maybe making another small hole to connect a sensor like a thermometer or something like that. i don't mean for taking hits, because with practice thats easy enough, but for reference or something? idk. just an idea i had. sorry for the long post, but im stoned and all these thoughts came rushing. also just want to say it makes my day when i come home to a lot of new posts on this thread, so thanks for this thread everyone and thank you magic flight. cant wait to see the water adapter.
