Colorado Legislators Pass Marijuana Banking Laws

Colorado's legislators just passed a marijuana banking law. The Governor said he would sign it over the objection of the Colorado Bankers Association. Not too long ago, Attorney General Eric Holder proposed similar banking laws at the federal level, but no action has been taken yet. Kudos to Colorado once again for being ahead of the curve.

I have to give the Governor of Colorado, John Hickenlooper, quite a bit of credit. Although he was personally opposed to legalization in Colorado, he said he would "enforce the will of the people."

But dispensaries in Colorado are finally seeing a ray of hope, now that a marijuana banking co-op that received its charter from the state is moving forward with plans to open in the new year.
