"Pulled the trigger" on Crafty. Hopefully it delivers, but on paper it seems great. Especially when the alternative I was considering was the minivap, which is more expensive and bulkier. Cheapest portable minivap is 450€ and the Crafty is 298€.

S&B products indeed work great... BUT they are way overpiced and do not out perform other vapes made of better materials and offered at more reasonable prices.

no thanks!

I'm sure the quality will be good. They've been working on it for a good while.

You seem to be shopping only in the stratosphere, price wise. I do hate to see people thinking they have to pay a ton of $ to get high quality.

 Human nature.

Being able to change the pre-set temps on the fixed temp Crafty is a nice feature-something I haven't seen before. Calling this design 'convection only' is BS though. If these two have user replaceable batteries (I doubt it), my interest would really be piqued. Vapes this pricy should long outlast the original batteries, and shipping it back to be charged for replacing the bats doesn't appeal to me on any portable.

I've always wanted an s&b product... If I wasn't so satisfied with my firefly I would be all over one of these. Will be watching and reading but I have a feeling that these will sell well regardless of price.

i'm gonna hold my breath and read the early adopters views before i even begin to consider it.

is the volcano a great bag vape? it sure is. never used a plenty either, but besides the terrible look of it I hear it performs well also.

this looks like something iolite would have made imo... but hey performance is what matters. looking forward to seeing more about this.

if they used LiFePO4 chemistry batteries then they will last as long as the hardware ... 1000s of recharges vs only several 100s for typical Lithium. i can attest to at least 2000 recharges on several that i have with no noticeable degradation.

Hopefully that's what they're using. We'll see.

Not a money spender, but as I don't smoke and the only suitable vape has been the Cano for me( Out of the few ones I have tried), I have yet to find a suitable replacement for it that doesn't irritate my throat. I don't believe in price= quality/ good product, I try to find the best bang for the buck without compromising too much.

A taste on the tongue
I'd be tempted if I didn't have far too many portables since March I've collected PnP, Solo, 2 x Lotus and a Flowermate 5.0.

My latest acquisition a week ago was a Plenty. Can't fault the design and function of it. Real easy to use. Seems well built the flimsy bits are the screw on 2 part chamber surround in plastic but they sell parts.

I'd consider one maybe if my solo gave up the ghost:ko:

all good in the hood.
hmm. this one really peaks my interest based on the company making it. I also know myself, and will not be able to NOT order it for very long :)

I might just have to bite the bullet today. Ill keep in touch :)

It is a convection vaporizer with elements of conduction because its metallic bowl gets vaping hot too.

But it says " ... whereas the conduction ensures that there is vapor created from the very first breath."

so It would seem to follow that if conduction produces most of the first hit the chamber itself must be heating up.

So wouldn't that pretty much demand by the laws of physics for it to remain mainly conduction/radiant vaporization after that ?

Because In S&Bs description they say it's conduction and convection just a paragraph or two after they say it's 100% convection.

I was thrown off by that too. But the ovens on the Crafty and Mighty look like mini Plenty ovens, which they also described the same way.

And trust me, the Plenty rips like a kick-ass pure convection vape. The only problem was the bowl was a bit too big. To be honest, imagining these units ripping like mini Plenty's has me really pumped. But I'm still waiting on the reviews like everyone else.

What this means to me is that the first hit or two depends mostly on conduction for vapor. This makes sense for a convection vaporizer, I know the evo and the firefly need to reach thermal mass before good vapor happens so this helps for quick hits from a cold start. Also conduction flavor can be quite nice for the first hit or two until the terpines are exhausted so this aspect doesn't bother me.

What does concern me is that conduction will continue to happen if the bowl is left unfinished regardless of the auto-shutoff like the pax. Speaking of the auto-shutoff, isn't its time adjustable with the software?

I hope it's something like "preheating" the herbs before the convection heating starts. For example, the conduction preheats the herbs to 90'C ( Maybe the bowl keeps certain temp when in use?) and then the convection takes care of the rest. With the volcano you also need to preheat the herbs by letting the fan blow for few seconds before inserting the balloon, so with conduction preheating you could avoid that, while maintaining convection on the actual inhale.

I know with the convection vapes I use like the EV-2 I heat up the unit first and then set a room temp bowl on top hit it and remove it, never giving the glass bowl itself a chance to reach vaporizing temps. same way I use the UD and usually the vapo2.

Giant and tasty 100% convection hits. Although i hold no disdain for 100% conduction units either If they work well.
