Discontinued Vapolution 3.0

While I know that some of you guys say it's all about performance, it can't be underestimated that aesthetics plays a HUGE role in the success or lack of success of any product, including vaporizers. There's something called "pride of ownership" and so far, from the comments expressed here, no one's going to want to parade this vape out in public.

But will it appeal to the general masses out there? In my opinion, it's going to have to set some new standards and perform a LOT better than what the current market has to offer to overcome not only it's appearance but it's current price point as well. On the other hand, they may be targeting a completely different demographic than what exists here.

I think what we're seeing is what happens when an outside investor begins to dictate to the original owners what needs to happen to recoup their investment and in the process, loses some of the identity that made the original company successful in the first place.

Salutations,

There was no related information on Vapolution's own web site today, though one of the suggested links provided this interesting piece of information:

« The 3.0 will run on 12V DC power allowing it to be plugged into any 12V outlet. »

So it remains possible to use a Vapolution with no access to household A.C. power and hence i think this feature should help. Too bad it's their 3rd version though and i yet have to be shown/explained how the freash-air inlet connects: it only mentions "All Glass Path", not where it's supposed to begin exactly.

Well it's nice reading some good news once a awhile anyway!

Salutations, @Egzoset

The air path of the Vapolution is about as simple as you can get. There is a glass vial and a glass bowl. The fresh air enters the gap between the two at the top, makes a U-turn at the bottom and goes up through the load. No guessing about pure path with this one. It's as basic as it comes. Down between glass, and up through glass. The way @Hippie Dickie told us it should be. ;)

I can see clearly now the smoke is gone...
Somebody's been watching too much porn.

Seriously, I'm more bummed about the tripling of the price tag. :o

:peace:

Where did you get that info? I haven't seen a price point yet?

Also, I find its appearance acceptable. Not as pretty as some, but not as bad as others.

I was 100% in on this one based on my love of the other, but quite seriously I would have to see more than a digital readout at 3 times the price.

Whoa! It looks like this thread was birthed over the weekend. There sure seems to be a lot of negativity around the look of the new design. Please remember this is just a rendering and not the actual product. VAP3 will be a matte black color, not the shiny grey you see in the photo. VAP3 will be about the size of a can of soda with the button panel sticking out about 1.5". VAP3 is not pocket sized, but is small when compared to VAP2 or any other desktop vape.

It is not a pet feeder or a blender, but I guess it is good that it can be disguised as one. Vapolution is about being different. Our heater is different than any other vaporizer on the market and we wanted VAP3 to look different as well.

VAP3 Features:

-2 minute start-up time
- microprocessor controlled heater with +/- 2 deg F temperature stability
- Digital display with back-light
- illuminated heater sleeve allows you to see the vapor and how clean your heater is
- user removable/replaceable/cleanable glass heater sleeve
- massive airflow improvement over VAP2
- Stealth Mode allows for the unit to be used with no LCD back-light and no heater sleeve light for discreet vape sessions.
- 200 deg F to 500 deg F temperature range
- 45 minute auto sleep function
- optional hydrotube setup
- release date Q1 2015

I have been using a prototype VAP3 with the hydrotube setup exclusively over the past few weeks and it is the most amazing vapor experience I have ever had. I hope that when we bring VAP3 to market, you guys and gals will think the same. Thank you for supporting Vapolution.

Soooo glad to hear that it's not going to look like the pic. Just the color to black, in my opinion, is a major improvement.

Thanks soooo much for being active here, Vapo. MUCH appreciated by all.

Question, will the microprocessor heater controller act in much the same way as the EVO does in that it will constantly adjust the heat fast enough to compensate for draw speed?

I dig the new look. Can't wait to take it for a spin. Hoping for some way to get that price closer to 2-250$ though. :)

Price will be somewhere between $225 - $299, hopefully closer to the lower end, but the price will not be solidified until we get closer to launch.

Thank you for your kind words. YES! The heater will compensate for draw and maintain +/- 2 deg F while you draw. :)

Ha! Everytime I start doubting, @Vapolution Vaporizers chimes in and set things straight! You really know how to make us want your product, and you have good arguments!

I hope the external shell design is not final though. Maybe you could try a few alternative ones and poll your users for their preferences? Black would be definitely better than this grey, that's for sure.

Anyways, it's just cosmetical. It's great to have you there supporting your products.

I don't care at all about the 'sex appeal' of this thing. It's a vape, not a fashion accessory :p But I am glad they are taking stealth into account this time. I live in an apartment, and hate having this thing that says 'VAPOLUTION' in big letters just sitting around.
