The method I've used is rip the corner off a baggie, take the cotton off both ends of a cotton swab, put the cotton in the baggie corner, push through the stem onto wax paper, no goo container, etc.
I do the same, minus the bag corner part. I assume you have a reason for it..

DO you mean to just use it as a straw with hot chocolate or coffee and let the hot liquid dissolve it?

Either will work, both are done. But not with coffee. At least not without lots of real cream. Lots. You need rich hot chocolate (don't even think about non or low fat milk.....). Whole milk will usually cut it, better with cream or 'half and half' as well. The THC has to bond to the fat to get into your system.

Coffee and non dairy creamer is like putting artificial sweetener in the humming bird feeder.

What setting do you guys run your pa at? I am using 50% and just leaving it there for the most part but I use both the power button and the dial as well as my draw to control the temp. Sometimes I dial it up to 75% during a draw.

That`s the right temp setting for me. Just below 50%. I vape all my herbs on this setting till they are brown. When the LB gets older and the screen dirtier, i might need to turn up the power a little. When i vape hash in a tray i set it higher, at ~60% and the lasts draws even at 80%

75% at a rather new LB with just herbs would be too high for me.

Comparing notes is good, I think, but remember boxes are individuals (as are their owners.....). I own several MFLBs and they don't all perform the same at the same setting on the PA.

That's funny, I used to do the same thing when I first started to use the PA! Although I haven't owned one (at least not until tomorrow :D), I've borrowed a friend's for a couple months. There's also been a whole lot of handling the PA side of things while a newer vaporist drew from my Orbiter. I was able to give many a newb large tasty vapor hits while requiring very little briefing. Teach someone how fast to draw by showing them the bubbles, then juice up the box for a big rip.

After a while I gave up on working the dial during a draw. It just means I need an extra hand to operate my whole rig and there are times it can be pretty inconvenient.

I tend to leave the dial at a set place and alter the temperature by pulsing the button and varying my draw speed. With the Orbiter, I engage the PA until it just starts to produce thicker vapor, then I release the button until it cools down again, while drawing faster to cool things down. Repeat as many times as needed during the hit. I will touch the dial if the current setting fails to produce vapor, simply nudging it up 5-10% to increase the temp just a little.

My old box liked a setting of 60-65%, while my new box is more in the 35-40% range, depending on dryness of herb.

Do a whole bunch of experimenting!

I've been playing with it a bit but I don't plan on using the dial to adjust temp very often, it is set it and for get it. . I now have it set at a tad below 50%. It seems to be working pretty good right there. I also turn it up if need be which from time to time I do at the end of a trench. It is so much better at home than constantly swapping and charging batteries. I like the battery option for out and about and while on the lakes and in the wilderness. THe batteries work but not as nice as the charger. THe power adapter gives consistent energy and heat and doesn't wear down like the bateries. the batteries make the Mflb much more touchy. I think the power adapter makes this thing much easier and more enjoyable to use. FOr batteries, I cAN CARRY 4 with me in a pocket while flyfishing, that should be ok for all day use for about 4 trenches. I have a 1hour charger and will plug that into the car to charge my batteries for daily use while camping. My 1 hour charger works great and has been charging dozens of AA for my depth finder. As long as I don't run down my auto battery. I figure an hour will be ok. I am looking forward to trying out the auto adapter. Between charging the AA batteries and using the power adapter I hope I don't kill my car battery out in the boonies in the middle of winter and get stuck. LOL.

You can clean the acrylic tube carefull.. and you can use Iso if you take precaution.
When done, you can vape the cotton from the q-tip used.
Point taken. Your method definitely looks much safer than dipping the stem in iso (I've seen an acrylic stem crack and fall apart after being submersed in iso). Making sure you squeeze the q-tip to get rid of most of the iso seems like an ideal plan. Might have to clean out my acrylic stem sometime :D

lol Maybe my acrylic is stronger than yalls? I have only 3 stems that Ive had for over a year now and clean them about once a month by throwing them in a bottle with ISO and shaking like there is no tomorrow and they bang around all over the place. All 3 still look brand new when they come out....

It's the length of time that they are in the iso that ruins them. I have done quick soaks and they turned out fine but one time I accidentally left an acrylic stem soaking for a day and by the time I realized it the thing was cracked like crazy and looked all dried out and cloudy.

I threw mine in a bowl submerged in 50% ISO. It is like $7.95 to buy a new one if it breaks.

So basically the best way to extract the honey is to soak the stem in iso and then just evaporate the remaining iso off and then scrape up the goo and smoke it up?

No, I don't think so.

The ISO is clearly attacking the plastic, making stuff I really don't think you want to be breathing vapors of? A glass stem is OK of course.

IMO not a very good idea at all. Stick to stuff that doesn't attack the plastic.

What plastic? I thought it is a glass stem and Magic Flight/video says to soak the glass stem in Iso to clean it.

1flyfisher,
they have acrylic stems also.

He said glass is okay.
I have not seen any acrylic stems yet. I have seen the wood ones. The dart. It is ok but I don't need it. If it was $10 I would get it I guess. I like the glass stem that comes with the box. It is enough and all I need. I don't want to carry around a stem and native works for me when I am at events and need stealth.

I use wood or native, glass for concentrates. I do like the acrylic stems though especially shorties.

Edit- I think the dart stems look kind of goofy, but I might pick one up.

They are out there for sure. There was noting else for the first few years, glass is pretty recent. I'd say, over all, Acrylic stems outnumber glass two to one? Many of us prefer them as well.

More to the point, the discussion in the posts before had to do specifically with ISO problems and the plastic stems.......

Maybe you are using weak Iso.. like 60- 70% rather than more pure stuff.

Stems used to all be acrylic.
Many of us still prefer acrylic stems... I am one.

I only use 91%, maybe its because I only leave them in there for about 30 seconds total as Im shaking them.
