I'm going to be travelling to Seattle on the 23rd and will be leaving the night of the 27th. I'm still a little new to the community here, but if anyone wants to grab a beer or some pizza, I'd love to extend the invitation.

I'm primarily down there visiting a friend who will be having a complicated birth, so my availability may be complicated if she delivers while I'm there or if things get a little hairy. However, if the opportunity is there I'd love to meet some members of our community if anyone is in the Seattle area.

I'd also love some suggestions for where to eat. I love Serious Pie and 13 Coins, as well as Brazilian food. However, I'm always in search of some authentic Vietnamese food. I go to Vietnam every year to do some volunteer medical teaching and am always jonesing for some good authentic Pho when I'm back in the US.

Thanks folks!

Hey vp,

You are so awesome. If you are serious about going, I might take a sales trip there. I love pho too. I day- dream of opening my own Vietnamese restaurant someday.
We can talk too if you need to know I am a real person and more info about myself.

Trii,

Thanks so much, but I'm not the awesome one. The nurses I teach however, are pretty stinkin great. I'm fortunate to be able to speak to people that are eager to learn despite having limited resources. If you've never been to Vietnam, I highly recommend it. I've done three yearly trips there so far and have loved every minute of it (well, almost. Twice now I've gotten a pretty nasty stomach bug). I would really like to learn the language, but that will be a challenge. Its a very tonal language. If I lived in an area with a higher population of Vietnamese people I'd probably try to strongly pursue some lessons, as I'd love to be able to carry on a conversation beyond just being able to say hello, thank you, and drinking phrases.

The people are great, the food is amazing, and the work I do there really keeps me from getting burned out from my regular job (I work in an ER).

I know there's plenty of Vietnamese restaurants in Seattle, but I have not yet been in to one. However, on this trip I plan on visiting at least one or two.

I sent you a PM. Feel free to get in touch, I'd definitely like to hear more about your sales projects, vietnamese food, etc.
