Organic Botanical Blends for E-Cigs?

So my wife recently decided to buy an overpriced e-cig from a mall kiosk (E-go) despite my plea's to buy one better online. But I digress.

My wife liked the "flavors", but I wasn't digging it. I would rather vape some natural organic e-juice, but I have no clue where to look.

I once tried the energy blend from Davinci Vaporizers and enjoyed it, but no way do I want to spend $35 on a bottle of it! Is there somewhere else I can buy organic/natural ejuice blends?

Thanks, but most of those links are flavors. I'm specifically looking for Botanical blends

Yeah I've been vaping unflavored pg and VG since I read that thread. I am @215z on that site as well.

Does just VG/PG taste good by itself vaped? I feel like there has to be a way to flavor it naturally to the point that its safe.....even if I have to make it at home like a scientist.

I was a sickly kid and used many inhalers and nebulizers that used PG as a carrier liquid. So I can't taste it anymore. @HillaryClinton VG tastes kinda sweet to me. Menthol is a "flavoring" that is proven safe for inhalation. There have not been any studies on inhaling NETs tobacco/coffee/tea macerations.

You can buy PG USP at CVS and VG USP (humco brand) at Walmart they are very inexpensive to try out.

Actually from what I'm reading - this is regarding flavoring - what about botanicals? Like Ginger, Guarana, and Green Tea? Wouldn't those be safer? Or would those still contain that Diacetyl

Edit, I should note neither of us want nicotine in our e-juice

I have used VG in stuff, all I know is its sweet, never actually tried Menthol, might be interested in that, its sorta like a mint though right? Odd that they can't just test and tell us what is and isn't safe, someone needs to do some studies...

I have a 32oz bottle of VG that I got a couple months back for something....forgot what, never opened it, I also have distilled water, what brand Menthol flavoring you buy? Might wanna try that.

As Ratchett says though, I would love a green tea one....haha, I mean I vape green tea in my Vapor Brothers, not sure if thats bad or good.

Quite frankly, botanicals would be worse. Stuff that's good to ingest is not necessarily good to inhale. I vape all day every day, we need not be so cautious of the occasional indulgence.

Ratchett same here, I wanted to do it for fun mostly, not for the nicotine.

Odd though, I mean what would be the difference of me cooking the Green Tea and VG together at like 190 degrees and using it in the pen vs. just vaping the tea which I was told was good for a long time haha....

But yeah the occasional indulgence probably would not hurt... :)

If I was going to vape something non-psychoactive that has no inhalation data, it would be the terpenes in cannabis. D-limonene is hella cheap. The liquid from water curing ganja should be rich in terps and free of THC.

Sounds interesting...what about essential oils(Says limonene on the lemon and grapefruit)? You know like the ones meant for use in diffusers(Which is why I have them).

Says ok for inhalation(and vaporizers lol) but only for external, so I am a bit confused. I know I would probably only need to add a drop or two to like 30ml because it is highly concentrated.

Yay on terpenes
Nay on plant oils rich in terpenes

Vaping oils puts you at risk for lipid pneumonia. For that reason, you should winterize and dewax your cannabis concentrates.

@Ratchett should already have some d-limonene in his garage for dissolving HIPS filament, but not the food-grade stuff. There is a monograph for d-limonene in the USP-FCC, but I don't know where to buy the pharma grade stuff.

So odd, It really should not say Uses: Vaporizer/Inhalation then...

Here I got all excited for a moment.... :(

I inhale every last wisp of the stuff I vaporize... But maybe that word has a different meaning to non-stoners.

Maybe the cup-above-a-candle rigs are vaporizers to them lol, it creates vapor

I know but thats probably what confuses me haha, I mean heating it up and breathing it in by way of candle or other device should have the same effect as using it in a e cigg.

Found a thread thats interesting, still reading it: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/265746-loving-essential-oils.html

Probably better safe then sorry...but that guy seems to think its better then flavorings. Says they can't cause lipoid pneumonia. :hmm:

I haven't had a chance to debate with that dude, but he claims that "there are no... Non volatile vegetable oils" in distilled EOs. Well, are the volatile lipids safe to inhale? He then goes on to cite oral and dermal LD50s in rats, failing to distinguish his MOA of choice - inhalation.

Diacetyl is the poster child of "what is safe to eat may not be safe to inhale"... It stands to reason there are other compounds that suffers the same issue, to greater or lessor degrees.

Yeah I went to his profile to try to squeeze some more info from him but he has not been on in months sadly. I would like to debate with him personally, I did send an email to the poeple who make the EO I have just to see what they say, gonna research it more, gut instinct tells me that they would be safer then a chemical(Yeah I know, everything is chemical technically, but you know what I mean lol) flavor but really what do I know, not much yet. I mean if PG/VG is pretty much considered safe and heating up EO with water and breathing that in is safe I am inclined to think that mixing the two would be safe but science is tricky as hell....

Diacetyl is scary, thats one thing I know to avoid....but yeah I am sure others exist.

Gonna try to talk to this guy also: http://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/28hc3d/vaping_essential_oils_and_lipid_pneumonia/

This makes it seem fine also: http://www.minnesotanaturalhealth.com/steam.htm

Reason being the steam method which is basically breathing in the EO and water boiled in my mind can not be more harmful then VG+Diluted EO at the temp E-cigs get to(160-200 on average, 212 is boiling). Still gonna gather more info but just putting all this out there...

Ratchett, if this does turn out to be safe(Leaning towards yes as of now) these seem well priced: http://www.edensgarden.com/essential-oils/

Hi, I'm the owner of Open Source Vapor. I have been on this forum in the past and was excited to see traffic this morning that came from here.

We do use botanically based flavors. They are extracted through steam, co2 and alcohol extraction. They are then put through a rotary evaporator to remove the alcohol. If anybody has any questions, I'll be more than happy to answer them.

Interesting, from what I read Essential Oils are also created through water-and-steam distillation process which seems a bit different but sorta the same, there seems to be a lot of controversy on what is and isn't safe to inhale, have you checked out the thread about Diacetyl on the E-Cig forum, apparently it can also come from natural sources, have you tested for this?

Thanks for checking in here, I like to hear from the sources.
