Hey guys,

I've been perusing the forums for days now and I'm honestly more confused than when I started.

Before heading to this awesome website (a lot of useful info here), I read numerous other reviews of vaporizers on other websites, searching for a good desktop vaporizer. After rummaging through all those reviews, I was almost completely convinced I was going to buy an Arizer Extreme Q, due to its price, the digital temperature setting, the ability to use both a bag and whip and its overall good reviews. However...on some reddit post, I saw a comment that made me question purchasing this vaporizer completely. This comment pointed out that the air path is not completely "clean" in the Extreme Q and so, I investigated further. Although I'm not totally convinced there's any dangerous/harmful chemicals being inhaled (circuitry or something close being heated) when using the Extreme Q vs. other vaporizers, I'm now unsure if I should buy the Extreme Q simply due to this uncertainty. I definitely want to know that I'm purchasing the safest/healthiest vaporizer my money can buy.

So, I have been using the forums on this website for the past few days and I've been searching for the perfect first vaporizer for me. Alas, I'm really overwhelmed, so I created an account on FC so I can explain this to you all and hopefully get some valuable insight.

Here's what I would want in a vaporizer:

1. Desktop vaporizer
2. Preferably less than $300
3. "Clean" air path (been reading that the Vapolution 2.0 is good on that, thoughts?)
4. Whip-type (although I'm not opposed to a dual-purpose vaporizer that does bags and whips, even though it seems like those vaporizers are more of a "jack of all trades" and not great at either)
5. Preferably digital temperature controls (but I'm not opposed to analog)

Thank you all so much in advance, I appreciate any and all help

I agree with SSV, though I hear great things about the lesser-known 'jack-of-all-trades' VapirRise.. and you can't go wrong with the VaporBrothers either... Damn VAS..

What about the HerbalAire? I hear mixed reviews about it - but it seems like an awesome vape for the price. I'm still impressed it can handle full unground buds

You don't need to sweat the Extreme's air path. The electronics are in the air path before it gets heated, so it is a moot point that some people use to falsely shoot down this vape. It's a great vape for a noob (was my first vape) and can satisfy most of your vaping needs for a long time...a solid first choice.

Space is the Place
Some people will just always harp on any electronics in the airpath but sit in front of a space heater /fan/air conditioner without thinking twice .

That said i do like my vapolution 2.0 a whole lot with it's glass on glass air/vapor path.

Thank you everyone for your quick and well-thought out responses!

Knowing that the air path in the EQ is clean does change things for me...Although, I'm not completely sold anymore after reading that its whip isn't comparable to the whip of the SSV. However, if I were to buy either of these vapes, would any of you guys know a good place to purchase them? (I'd preferably want to go through a third-party retailer of the original manufacturer to ensure a warranty on my product).

Thanks again.

I have purchased most of my units from Puffitup. Many people on here swear by them.

Since I am Canadian, and not sure where you reside, consider using PlanetVape. They will definitely take care of you.

If you are looking to purchase a Silver Surfer, consider ordering a blemished unit straight from 7th Floor themselves. I recently did this with my Da Buddha (which is sort of like their budget Silver Surfer model, and might also be worth looking into) and aside from a few less options, and a few minor cosmetic scratches, you get a beautiful vapourizer at a fraction of the price. You also get the same warranty as a brand new model.

I'm in New York, so I'll take a look at Puffitup. Thanks PoisonousHydra.

And since I'm still considering a SSV, I'll check out the blemished units. If I can get the SSV for a pretty low price, that'll definitely be a big draw for me, because right now, it looks like a new SSV is more expensive than the EQ.

You should consider the Da Buddha if price is an issue. Vs. the SSV, the hits are more predictable and slightly less rich per hit due to the wider opening in the heater cover, and the GONG connection is standard. The only other difference (aside from appearance) is ergonomics. You get SSV components and reliability at a better price. Unless I really wanted to use the bag fill option on the E, I'd choose the DBV for direct draw use.

I'm not sure what this means, but I seriously question where you have been getting your information. If you are speaking to the actual whip, that sounds like nonsense to me. If you are talking about the quality of the whip hits, then I agree. I found the SSV to provide slightly thicker hits than the E. In the end the SSV replaced the E for me after about a year and a half of use.

Yeah I saw that, but on puffitup.com the EQ is 175 with their coupon code, which is cheeper than the vapor nation.com 20% off deal.

Oh, sorry for not being too clear with that. I was referring to the quality of the hits. I'm not sure how often I would use the EQ bags (but I know I would at least try them out), so I feel like I'm going to use the whip more. I was just trying to say that the SSV sounds like a better whip vaporizer in comparison to the EQ.

Last week I was trying to decide between the same vaporizers mentioned here - Extreme Q, DaBuddha, and Silver Surver. I ended up going with the DBV because of the built in ground glass connection and price. Before you buy anything, I recommend you check out Vaporseller.com. DBV there is $131.50 vs $140 for a blemished DBV from 7th Floor. If you do decide to buy from 7th Floor, PM me. I have a discount code that works which I did not use.

I personally recommend that you go with the DBV, then put the money you saved toward some glass to connect to it. You don't regret it.

I recommend you check out Vaporseller.com.
And I recommend checking with the manufacturer when considering this reseller, if you're interested in a valid warranty. They sell at prices that are lower than some vape makers allow (they're not an authorized dealer), so you'd be out of luck, warranty wise, with some of their products.

I did a lot if research like you..and health was my number one concern.

I settled on the DBV (da budda) it's the same as SSV but cheaper and has a few different features you may it may not want.

My only concern is the metal screens, I wanted all natural 100% vapor path and forgot about the screens.

Now I'm trying to figure out if these screens are potentially releasing any fumes into the vapor. I don't know how hot the DBV gets...I also don't know at what temp Stainless Steel releases fumes like chromium or something else into the vapor...anyone?

mod note: Your post is off topic. It's called thread hijacking and against the forum rules.

Well fuck. Maybe I didn't do as good research as I thought.

Vaporseller.com is part of the same company as VaporizerUSA.net, who is supposedly an authorized seller of many different vaporizers. I will talk to them next week and find out for sure.

From what I understand, Vaporseller basically sells overstock or reconditioned items. Mine looks like a blemished/refurb that you'd get from 7th Floor direct. There is a small scratch on it. Also, the wand was broken. Considering that UPS partially crushed the box, I guess I lucked out.

I don't think we've ever seen anyone on the forum as paranoid and resistant to facts as you, when it comes to safe materials. Once again, stainless steel screens are absolutely not a safety concern at vaping temps.

They aren't, as you've been told repeatedly.

There's nothing on their site that says they're selling refurbs. That would normally be a case of 'no warranty' too.

"WHY SO CHEAP? HOW CAN YOU PROVIDE SUCH LOW PRICES?

Some customers ask us this question. We have various retail stores nationwide and when we have excess inventory, we sell all items at their wholesale pricing on this website until excess inventory is depleted. On our website, you will notice that most items will run for a while and they will be out for a while. It is a result of this inventory count. You can buy all items in confidence. They are all original items directly from their manufacturer and distributors." http://www.vaporseller.com/about-us

Some vape makers don't care who you buy from or at what price, and as long as you buy a new unit, you have the warranty. Others require that you buy from an authorized dealer. Never ask the reseller if you'll get a warranty. Ask the manufacturer.

You have only gotten one recommendation for the HerbalAire, so I am gonna double that. This is what I started with, and I like it a lot. Works well, doesn't take long to heat up (relatively), is reasonably priced, is multi function (Whip, Bags, direct), and gets me very toasty. It is particularly good for groups.

If it is a big deal to you, you can buy titanium screens.

I can't find my references, Dick Honig measured outgassing of metals under high vacuum at different pressures. He published his work that he did at RCA in the 60s.

Well I'm sorry but I have anxiety issues and sometimes I need to ask about this so I can understand. The reality, all I have had people tell me is that stainless doesn't give off any fumes. I have read reports and links that people have posted, but I have yet to find the info that would put the argument to rest for me.

1. I know for the most part stainless isn't releasing harmful fumes or ions. but I don't know what temps this starts at...

2. I don't know how hot the DBV is getting so I cant compare it to anything. If I can know that the DBV reaches say 600 degrees Fahrenheit on max but the stainless screens don't release uses until (x) degree than I can safely say: yes this is safe.

Again sorry for asking the same thing over but all I get is answers like "I told you already" when in reality I have no proof to base on. Even the reports and links I have been provided lack the simple info of temperatures..

To make things worst, the staff closes all on my threads so instead of having the conversation in one place, I end up getting bits and pieces from threads.

I'm really not here to piss y'all off, I'm here to have a happy vape session. Fuck combustion.

Dude you keep asking the same things expecting to hear something different.

How often do you think you'll be vaporizing at 600F? NEVER that's how often. You vaporize at temperatures under 450F - anything over that and you're smoking not vaporizing!
There is no offgassing of stainless steel at these temperatures. Relax, and go hit a vape.

Trust me, you're not the first person with anxiety to visit this site - there are a lot of us here with high anxiety, just chill out - if you're not going to listen to us, then stop asking the same question over and over expecting to hear something different.

even with temps past off gassing its still safe you simply burn it off with a torch lighter (this was common practice when using them in pipes .

take a look at aromed 4.0 little bit more around 400 but for taste you can't beat it all glass water filtered light source for heat (all parts are replaceable too including the light bulb)

I can't torch burn to because it's inside the wand...

I simply just want to know if the temps of the DBV are even capable of off gassing stainless steel fumes...been asking the same question, still nobody has been able to put a number to it.

I have yet to read anything hat says: "the DBV reaches (x) degrees

I have also yet to find something that says "stainless releases fumes of (x) starting at temperature (x).

It is this info I have been searching for but no luck anywhere...
