Can I bitch about your bitching about my bitching? :p

I wonder if a mod wants to go back in the original thread and move a few posts over there. It would make the Cory thread a lot easier to navigate.

Well another day of waiting. Thrilling stuff folks.

It seems like Cory is the king of making people wait but I don't just want this thread to be about him.

I am tired of waiting on stuff to come from China! When are they going to invent a system of delivery tubes like at the bank? They have them on FUTURAMA! Somebody make this a reality!

I agree. Maybe @Caligula can change the title to Official Glass Anticipation Rant.

@syrupy, I honestly disagree with every thing you say. I'll further edit and post in morning because everything long i've typed right now has come out too agro and I don't like my tone, so i'll try again in the a.m. ( non drunk, booze so detrimental to happy people). Summary of the long post tomorrow, this is not a publicly traded for profit large business following benchmark standards. You didn't come here from mass marketing. You didn't come here because you saw 1000 ads. You came here, you created your own expectations, and now your thrashing your expectations against a non reality.

I'm cool with agree to diagree. :) I do applaud your restraint.

Huh? I know there's no common stock for CGD. But if we reduce this down to basics, it's all business. Buyer pays money, buyer receives item. Or buyer pays money, doesn't receive item, and has to file a chargeback. When there's spotty communication, the buyer is kept guessing which scenario may be happening. Because there are limits to how
long a chargeback can be made, it's important for the buyer to know if the seller is going to deliver in a timely manner. Simple things can make the biggest difference. Like maybe an update every two or three weeks?

It might be good to check out this page. I find many buyers are unaware of their rights, which apply from the biggest corporation, down to little ebay sellers. For instace I would guess most buyers don't know this:

Q. What should I do if the unordered merchandise I received was the result of an honest shipping error?
A. Write the seller and offer to return the merchandise, provided the seller pays for postage and handling. Give the seller a specific and reasonable amount of time (say 30 days) to pick up the merchandise or arrange to have it returned at no expense to you. Tell the seller that you reserve the right to keep the merchandise or dispose of it after the specified time has passed.

I would argue against the statement that Cory is too big/good to respond to the little folks, so communication is irrelevant. Word of mouth is incredibly powerful, and if people are looking for CGD from Google and end up here, maybe someone would be turned off. I for one will be happy upon resolution to post here that things are fine now, and post some function vids on the offical thread.

this is the difference in how i'm looking. Canadian Law here, so although different pretty similar in ease of consumer protection. Our fit of product legislation is much easier then your processes, in my opinion, but all of this is irrelevant. Its a matter of you are paying an artist to do his artistic process. You found him and contacted him. You have the expectations of business norms you put on him. but as you showed, you have a process to stop your contract. If you were unsatisfied, and you get your money back and go along your way, thats cool. You guys were on different level. If there world was based around your perspective, bad business model. Maybe if you look in someone else's perspective, something you choose not to put into an official business model specifically to stop the creation those kinda of expectations.

I would get creating noise and fluff if you couldn't find a satisfactory situation. But In circumstances where I thought something was operating differently, I got my money back. I didn't try to change them to my expectations.

EDit: and not too big to answer small people with that connotation. I meant in a distribution channel perspective

I love playing the 800% Bieber stuff for people without telling them what it is. They usually like it, and great to see people's reactions when they find out it's Biebs and get a sourpuss face.

Needs to be chopped & screwed

You asked for it. I find the longing tones of the dj screw treatment to be symbolic of the plight of the buyer to complete their glass transaction. The world is slowing down...

As requested by @syrupy I am starting this thread to avoid clogging up the Cory Glass Designs thread over in the FC "Glass" section with posts of pining and bitching. Heh.

Have at it!

(Thats just for you @Deja Vu)

I just noticed that you shouted out to me with that one. That dog is Cory's new mascot.
Motto: "If you really love it, you'll wait for it" or "Cory's recyclers.. Man's best friend""

How about some music while you wait?

This should last you a while:

Yeah, those 10 hours will just fly by. Can't think of a better way to spend 710.

I can't think of a blower who can generate as much excitement as CGD. Reminds me of waiting all night in the rain and snow to see George Lucas speak at a con for half an hour.

I got my hefty bag parka on. Bring it on.

We're here to fuck shit up.
All you guys complaining about waiting for pieces he still has to actually make. What about the piece I paid for almost 3 weeks ago that was already made?! Granted, I asked for a dropdown that took an extra five days to make, but that's nearly a week and a half that everything has been done. All that needs to happen now is to pack it up and ship it. I talked to Cory on Mobday and he said it would ship out this week. I tried contacting him on Thursday to see if I could get a tracking number with no response. I tried contacting him on Friday with no response. I've tried contacting him today with no response. His words wre that it would ship this week and I haven't heard a word since. I've been patient and I paid in full the moment I was invoiced.

To me, this is fucking bullshit and I don't care if he's busy working on other stuff. I paid him for what I wanted and it's all been done for almost two weeks and is just sitting around. I had plans to have Cory make me at least two other pieces that would not have been cheap, but he is killing his chances of return business. I have not had to deal with this type of unprofessionalism from any other artist that I've dealt with.

Perhaps hes busy with Chalice and AGE?
I'll he honest with you, and please do not take this personally, I really don't care what he's busy with. I paid up front and I want one of two things. Either send me what I paid for in the timeframe that HE told me he would send it, or just contact me and tell me there's a delay. If I just had any clue as to what is going on I wouldn't be nearly as pissed as I am.

The lack of communication is utter nonsense. It takes all of 30 seconds to Kik me and tell whether it has shipped or not.

If one is busy and cannot fulfill commitments laid forth by that individual then they need to reexamine their business model.

Basically, I'm sick of excuses, but what kills me is that they're not even his excuses. Others make excuses for his lack of communication and horrible timeframes. I'd like to at least hear it from him. As I said, I've never had this negative of an experience with any of the other artists I've had dealings with.

I'd just like to say that since paying for this piece from Cory I have paid for AND RECEIVED three other pieces from other artists.

I actually wanted this to be a surprise for you guys but @Deadshort480 last message prompted me to spill the beans.

I have been on the hunt for an alternative glass artist for us to get our recycler fix and this morning I believe that I found it.

I have seen some of his work and as far as plain clear recyclers go I believe that he is on par with Cory. Some good vortex action!

I have explained mine/our needs to him and he will be starting it next week I believe and accept payment through PayPal upon completion. Same $150 shipped price tag

I plan on starting a thread for this when everything comes together. Now you don't have to wait for Cory unless you want to
