Hi i'm new to this forum and apparently I have insufficient rights to post in the portable vaporizers thread so I hope this post is okay here!
I haven't used a vaporizer before just occasionally smoke a joint but I find it so hot and hard to take in i've decided to invest in a vaporizer because I still enjoy the high but not the sore throat and coughing!
I've done my research and was going to go for a simple glass vaporizer that you heat with a lighter but now am looking at the YoCan Mak or 94F and can't decide which one would be good for me? I have a fairly low tolerance but have no idea if the Mak chamber would be big enough? there's about a £12 difference between them ($20) but i'd need to buy a battery and i'm guessing the glass filters so it actually vaporizes, but i'd like to keep the price as low as possible as i'm a student and don't have much spare money.
Any advice will be appreciated!
Thanks

p.s. would use it for smoking weed, wouldnt buy oils or waxes so its sole use would be dry herbs

There is also the flowermate vapormax V. I've read good things about that vape and think you should look into it as a starter.

It's what I'm considering as my starter. That or a solo.

You can make a post in a thread there, but you can't start one (not a member privilege for that section). Vape specific threads are not allowed in General Vaporization- moved to Ask FC.

I started with vape pen as well assuming that it will work for dry herb as advertise, but that's notthe case. I like it though for concentrate. You'll be much happier to get a real vaporizer, solo or MFLB are reasonably priced.

Yup, as everyone else has said, there really is no true pen vape on the market that can handle dry herbs.

The solo is ugly, but it seems to be the best portable vape on the market. I have yet to find one person who DIDN'T like their Solo. The same can't be said for many other portable vapes.

I think you might be unclear on the distinction between vaporizing and smoking.

I want to give a shout out for the lowly VaporGenie.

I bought a *slightly less expensive* basic, 420 sale one for our son, who has a troubled relationship with electronic devices.

He loves it. It works for him. It looks like a pipe (some more than others), you use some sort of small torch or big lighter (not sure), and it vapes pretty well.

I use a Hammer, which is a butane powered heated air vaporizer for flowers... the stock glass stems work okay, but custom stems, such as @Ed's TnT wooden stems, seem to bump the functionality up to serious vaporizing, at least for me. :)

If youve got the patience snag a thermovape T1, ONLY "vape pen" that vapes herbs and doesent burn them. They pop up on ebay all the time and RIGHT now there is a black T1 kit that I believe is going for around 60ish shipped. GET ON IT BROTHER!

The T-Vape 2.0 in the mini configuration ( short battery+short etube ) is pretty sweet and not much bigger then a 'sharpie', close to the same size as the T1 if my memory serves me correctly. and only an inch or so longer with the longer 18650 battery + short etube.

I hope you mean vaping weed. We don't like to recommend vaporizers for the purpose of combustion. ;)
Since you're in the UK, I'd recommend the Vaporstar assuming you're OK with a butane powered vape. It's inexpensive and versatile-very similar to the VaporGenie Enchantre suggested, but set up for easy use with water filtration. Hard to find right now though, so I'll 2nd the Genie suggestion, since you can get that one (everyonedoesit.com). There IS a learning curve with many inexpensive vapes, and vapor can also make you cough, but compared to the harshness of smoke, it's a night/day difference once you get the hang of it.

Also, be sure to participate in your thread as you get responses. Otherwise it'll be considered abandoned and will be closed and archived.
