Picking a New Vaporizer

I am currently in the market for a new vape. I owned a PAX for about a year, but I ended up selling it and buying a bong instead. I am looking to make the switch back to vaping but I can't decide what to get. I have been looking at the SSV, Solo, DBV, and the new Haze vaporizer. My budget is $300 but I would like to not have to spend all of that. I am somewhat partial to the idea of portable vaporizers, I like the fact that I can take them anywhere. I do like seeing clouds and I want something that delivers a strong hit. I don't know which vaporizer to choose right now!

I have a Solo, and really like it a lot! It's about the size of a Redbull can, and packs a real punch! I like that it is portable, and I can vape with it where ever I need to. If you get one from Puff It Up, it is well within your price range.

If you're partial to the idea of a portable, then the Solo is a tried, tested, and much-loved vaporiser. You can also pair it up with a bubbler - which may be ideal for you given your love of bongs. I must admit the Haze has caught my interest too - but, as with all new vaporizers, it may be worth holding off with that one until all teething problems are resolved (?) I've never tried the SSV or DBV, but have come pretty close to buying an SSV before now - they both get glowing reviews. I guess you need to make a decision between portable v desktop, and whip v stem, and then go from there ...... Good luck! :2c: :peace:

Is the Solo usable in a group setting? The majority of the time it will just be me or my girlfriend using it, but sometimes others may participate.

Yep, you'll hear time and time again that the Solo is a solid, economical way to get into, or in this case back into, vaping.

I second the Solo from puffitup and then why not look into the Vapolution 2.0 as a desktop? It has a lot of cred on FC as well and can be had for as little as $100.

Or, you might even be able to find a secondhand Da Buddha that you could afford after getting a Solo. Those things are built like tanks so a used one should be fine. :2c:

Hope you find what works best for you!

The Solo is a great portable vape.

If you're looking for a plugin - consider the DBV, but also check out the EpicVape Nano - it's tiny, but it's heater can keep up with the most novice of vape newbies

Based on my experience, it'll do just fine with two people using it regularly. We did end up getting a couple of solos just because we don't like using them with the charge cord - the cord can be inconvenient when passing back and forth (especially when using it with a bong). So now we just have one charging while we use the other (also very handy for the odd occasion where we both want to vape but need to be in separate rooms!).

If more than two people will be using it, but only occasionally, it should still be fine. You'll hear some differing opinions on this, based on tolerance levels of everyone involved, MJ quality, frequency of group use, and whatnot. However in my opinion, it would do just fine in a once-a-week small group scenario (especially if you don't mind using the charging cord while vaping).

PS - if you're in Canada, I'd recommend ordering from planetvape.ca - best price I've seen in Canada, and then you don't need to deal with the potential issue of sending a contaminated unit across the border on the off chance it needs to be replaced.

So I think I have settled on the Solo, thank you for all of the help! On vapornation, it says that the newest version of the Solo can be used while it is charging. Does this mean that buying the power adapter would be useless?

Yes - as long as you're buying it from a place that for sure stocks the newer solos, like puffitup or planetvape (though you'd hope everyone would be selling the newer ones by now!).

There is a lot of information of Haze, Pax, Davinci, Ascent and solo at this thread http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/haze-vaporizer.13162/

also comparisons from FC members. Hope that helps...
