The Herbalizer

If it wasn't for my current occupational job requirements, would have ordered early in the game when I had the chance, but had to pass.

Been source of neverending regrets ever since. But, at least I can pass it on.

These are some damn good cats, with an exceptional development matched by none.

Get in the game.......... if you are able. If not......... save some bucks!

Is this the best on the market right now?

obviously a difficult question to ask but as the volcano has been tried and tested for a number of years are the extras of this unit worth the risk and cost?

I currently own the DA BUDDHA vaporizer and Davinci Ascent

would this be a positive step up from these?

where to buy in the UK?

thanks

I guess that question is subjective and a matter of opinion. I have never used a Volcano, but I do own an Herbalizer. IMO, the Herbalizer is better than than Volcano just because it can do more, but here, watch this video comparison. See what you think. I think the Herbalizer beats the Volcano in many ways, personally.

Thanks Vicki

Can you give me your opinion on the flavour and quality of the vape on this unit?

Do you use concentrates with it?

I own da buddha and that is the only thing I can compare anything with, but I want to get something better if the da buddha isn't good, if you know what I mean

I can't say Da Buddha isn't good because I've never owned one, and I've seen nothing but good reviews here. That being said, the Herbalizer is probably better.

As far as flavor, it's superb with the Herbalizer. I don't think I've ever tasted anything cleaner, when I'm vaping flowers or concentrates, and I've vaped both in the Herbie.

I agree with Vicki, the flavor is really good! I must say, I'm pleasantly surprised how well Herbie does with concentrates. Last night I used the concentrate pad with some bomb Fire OG shatter. I placed maybe .08g onto the pad and it gave my like 5 really tasty hits. I was feeling no pain, this thing really medicates! Those concentrate pads are a big plus, no mess whatsoever the concentrate melts into the pad and disappears. Good job Herbalizer crew!!

I had another combustion event this morning:shit:. I had taken a couple of tokes at 390f, lowered the lid for a few then bumped it to 420f a few minutes after that, took a hit that went (mini)-boom!

gSqoWPp.jpg

I was met with some polite disbelief the first time this happened, so here is a photo of today's occurrence.

I can't say that my herbie is malfunctioning, because the only other time it happened was shortly after I got it (~5-6 months ago) with the difference being I had just left it on that time, without putting it to sleep manually. I think I was also at 420f when it happened before, without bumping it up.

The only thing that I can think of is that perhaps the bowl is too full (it's not packed at all but I think the manual says only fill it halfway), but it's pretty much my normal bowl size (up to the lower lip). Also I'm using a second internal top screen but I don't believe that I was the first time this happened.

So it's only happened a couple of times that were ~6 months apart, but it sucks ding-dongs when it does. What do you guys think, should I send herbie in for a check-up?

edit:
In the meantime, I will go back to removing the bowl in-between hits rather than lowering the lid to induce sleep, I have been going back and forth between these two techniques.

Jack of all trades, master of none.
I doubt this is anywhere near correct but, maybe it's a combo of the full gown and the double upper screen? Maybe the second screen touches the herb and creates sort of a heat sink? The dark circle looks to be the same size as the outlet hole on the upper bowl. Maybe with the extra herb and screen it's trapping more heat? Also, was it a fan assist hit?

That really sucks. I didn't think Herbie was supposed to be able to combust because the highest temp setting is just below combustion temps? I've never filled my bowl over halfway, though.

Those are also my conclusions!!
Whenever i fill the bowl to or slightly above the flare i can achieve combustion in small amounts.
Never had a whole bowl go up but the scorched centre is quite familiar.
Try keeping the load to or just below the flare and you should be good to go!
I also never tamp the material down, just drop some in and tap the bottom of the bowl on the desk to even it out a bit and vape away!

Since keeping the loads slightly smaller i have never had this happen again.

All I can say about that is that (if my memory is correct) I have never combusted at 445f :D

@grokit - I just got my 2nd Herbie and the temp difference between the two is no less than 20 degrees. I am actually guessing it is off by about 30 degrees. The only reason I bring this up is because it sounds like there could be some major temp differences in units out there in the wild. I hope to hear from the Herbie crew Monday and will report back after I learn what the issue is/was, but I am guessing (hoping) it is simply a calibration issue.

Hey, I'm new to the forums and about to get an herbalizer. What do you mean the units are 30 degrees off from each other? Do you mean that If both are set at 370˚F, then one will be near that temp, while the other could be 340˚F or 400˚F? This is really concerning.

I don't think my temp's that far off, but that's really interesting. The flash of light that maintains bowl temperature seems very hot, and perhaps when conditions are just right with the material in the bowl it will just scorch the load, as it seems to snuff itself out before full combustion.

I'm sure that this isn't the case after all they have a strict quality control at herbalizer I'm sure, no one has complained or mentioned this before here I the forum so it's probably a random thing(temperture) cause the units temperature is controlled and maintained by the in board CPU.
I would think the if your unit is out that much that it needs to re calibrated and reset being that agin the temp is controlled by the CPU maybe it needs a software update or something.
I hope that is the case, good luck with the temp problem.
I was thinking about that burnt spot your herb chamber, and it looks like the heat went straight up the top of your bowl and maintained a perfect circle that's the same as the whip hole. I would think that the heat went straight up to the opening and the herb didn't mix while drawing on the whip. This would only happen if the herb chamber was packed to tight cause if its packed right the herb will swirl around like cyclonic swirling which cause the uniform abv, so if the herbs don't move around and its packed that tight the herb doesn't move around so the heat goes straight up the herb chamber and out the whip.
Less herb so it so tight.

Are you referring to my combustion events,
or @toros23's observed 20 degree temperature variance between models?
I can't tell who you're responding to here!
